Hello, I would like to know if anyone is having problems with go SMS pro? The problem I'm having is it keeps resetting for some reason which results in me having to keep logging in. It also kicks all my private contacts into regular inbox until I move them back individually. I love the features gosms has to offer, but I'm willing to move on if I cannot solve this issue. Any suggestions on fixing this problem, or suggestions on a different SMS with similar features?

Which version are you using?
Just pro or premium?
Have you uninstalled/reinstalled?
Cleared cache/data?
Logging in?
Is that for the free messages thing?
Thanks for quick response. I have cleared data but to no avail. The problem persist. Here is a screenshot of the app info.

Hey guys, I wanted to see if any fellow vibrant uses have been getting this.
This is the second time this has happened to me. Just out of no where I will launch my sms application (handcent) and the all of my texts are gone, like magic....
I have done alot of looking and found out that this is an old problem that is general for any android user. Wanted to see if anyone know the solution to what is causing this.

This just happened to me recently. I also use handcent. I dont know if this is the case for you, but I am a packrat, so I had a lot of messages.
I think the limit of SMS messages that can be stored on the phone is 5,000. The only thing that didnt make any sense is that not ALL of my messages were gone, I had 8 left from a recent conversation. I cant explain why they werent deleted...
We can start narrowing things down though. If you dont think you reached the phones limit, then maybe it is a Handcent bug, or a bug with TouchWiz.
it use to happen to me before when i had i believe was the mytouch slide at that time but i cant recall. and yes it happened when i had over 3000+ for my GF and like around 200 for other people! Now i usually just get to 600 or less and delete it and start over. I use the stock sms app btw and have no problems at all.
It happened to me too, not the first or second time it have always happened from the start. I don't use handcent, everything is untouched with no root.

Hmmm...a few people claim that this stopped after they uninstalled the antivirus app. However, I never used this app so it can't mean that. On top of that, many claim that this was due to 3rd party app. That wouldn't make any sence because if uninstalling different apps will fix it.
A few also mentioned that installing the sms back up also stopped the problem. It was also mentioned that handcent has an update coming that said they would fix it but that was almost a year ago. I couldn't find anything on the handcent website that fixed the issue. A lot of android users have the same issue as us on their forum. There are at least 10+ posts on this topic, non with a solution....

Have you removed the settings to delete old messages when limits are reached?
or have u edited those settings in the messaging app?
That's the first thing I checked
it's unchecked, no limits and no deleting if old text messages. Here's the thing, even if that was enabled, it would only delete after reaching the limit and keep it at that. What happened was that all the text messages just disappeared...

This used to happen to me on the G1 on occasion. I got around the issue by using the CyanogenMod Messaging application and setting the auto-delete limit to 200 messages per person, and using the free SMS Backup application to export all SMS messages to a label Gmail as they're received. I'm still using the same solution on the Vibrant, and I've had no problems since.
I didn't think that cyanogenmod is available for the samsung vibrant yet...or am i missing something?

The CyanogenMod 5 (Android 2.1) Messaging app can be installed over the Vibrant's Messaging app just fine. Download a CM5.0.8 ROM for the Nexus One and install the Messaging.APK found in \system\data. :]
I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.

I have noticed this for problem since having stock droid. I've used apex jrummey and tranquility n stock. It seems my texts get hung in limbo. Both receiving and outgoing. It doesn't happen all the time but enough for me to do my recovery method everytime I send a text.
It just seems to sit in queue ready to be sent.
What I have to do is make a call, any call, vm, friend etc... then msgs are sent through and received. Seems to be happening more and more.
Anyone else have this problem and how they get a permanent fix.
Thanks in advance

Did you remove the stock messaging app?
In the messaging app's settings, do you have auto retrieve turned on?
Or if you are restoring apps, might try going into settings/applications/ choose all & in messaging.apk clear data & cache (will erase txts) & even do the same for gmail (will not erase emails unless they are in pending/draft possibly, others will just reload when you open again).
Or sbf & then back to your rom of choice. Might be a bit of a pain, but could be worth it.
I think if it happened with the stock rom its either the phone or the service from Verizon? Try taking your phone in and see what they say

I use to have the problem in my area. I discovered it was poor service, and when I called out like to voicemail it would send and receive.
I just did the *228 and made sure the radios were up to date and haven't had the problem since.

Hey Robert,
Thanks for advice and to everyone else. Ill chalk that one up to old age on forgetting the *228. Did it and so far no problems. But time will tell. Thanks again

Not sure if I'm the only having this problem but every sms app I've tried including the default one is force closing. Am I the only having this problem?

I don't seem to be able to send out txt messages... shrug

Stock? What build? Try rebooting, if this doesn't solve the issue try uninstalling the messaging apps and clearing the data in the stock app

Is anyone having trouble with the stock messaging app stuck permanently "sending" MMS? Anyone know a fix?
If no one knows a fix for this... Perhaps someone can recommend a messaging app that works correctly in multi-app mode? I send a lot of pictures and want to be able to have gallery and messaging app open and be able to drag and drop pics into the messaging app.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Try to clear the cache for the default messaging app that will clear alot of problems. This is the first thing to do with a problem app.

Update... MMS go through fine when I'm not at home (not using wifi) but when I'm on wifi they won't go through... I'm almost certain that I sent a couple over wifi when I first got the phone last week.
Clearing the cache did not make a difference, thank you for the idea tho.

Just an FYI....MMS doesn't go over WiFi. It gets sent with mobile data.
I fixed the problem with a factory data reset ... now it will again send MMS while signed into wifi

I've had this happen a couple times. Each time I turned off wifi then rebooted the phone. Connected to 4G and sent.

Sorry to bring up an old posting, but I am still having this issue with MMS on wifi or off. I can receive them just not send them out.
Ever since I've my phone updated to the latest ROM, its been having this small issue with saying my text has not been sent. But when I click on it, my texts are clear of error. What is going on with that?
I'm not sure if this will work, but you could try it. Can you please clear the data and cache of the messaging app you use and reboot the device?

I just deleted all my texts. That surely helped.
Good to hear you solved your problem.

But deleting all my texts isn't what I want to do all the time or not at all. I'd like to keep my texts for however long I like to.But I tried that method that you suggested and it didn't work. So now what? It didn't start this until it upgraded to the latest rom.
Backup and factory reset.

What am I backing up to and with and resetting to factory is going to put back at stock rom.
I found out what it was. Since upgrading to the new kit kat, it no longer supports sms messaging but it now uses google hangouts as it's alternative messaging source. So you'd have to go into settings and designate which is the default messenger. It can't be both which is why it shows that it hasn't been read. Go and clear it out of hangouts and designate which is the default messenger, which is hangouts. Hope this helps someone.
Thanks for updating us man. Take care.
