Picked upd my galaxy note about 15min ago and turn the screen on and noticed some major artifacting on the screen and it was frozen so i did a battery pull and now the phone is completely dead, i had 70% battey left before the battery pull so it's not that (i tried plugin it in and still no go) i also tried hooking it up to my pc and nothing happens......anybody have any other ideas???
Return it! Sucks though..

How long did you have it for?
Did you have custom kernel?
If so what speed was it running at?
I had it for 1 day, picked it up tuesday night and it died wednesday night, i was running everything stock, no custom rom, no root nothing.Only thing that scares me is i had all my personal info on it and there was no way for me to erase it before sending it back.

Why not get another Note? The nexus in inferior in every way. ICS on a custom ROM should be here within a month.

i got my nexus 4 two days ago. it was great, but found out the battery is weird. when it is 99% charged, it says a few seconds if battery life left. when its 12% on battery, it says i have 12 hours of battery... why is that? do i need to contact them to get another one? and the battery life is not very good... my friend who have the same phone, has a greater battery life than mine.
does low signal affect the battery life?

AW: weird battery
Yes, the lower the signal is, the phone will have to transmit with higher power to reach the cell towers
It has a VERY high impact on battery life!
Which app tells you that remaining time?

Did u get the ota update. 4.2.2 is suppose to improve battery life. I have no complaints about battery life and that's what I'm on.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
it came with 4.2.2. fully charged in the morning and it's already 44 percent now at 3pm...i guess it's because of my phone signal... it's always below 3 bars... att sucks

I'll have to stuck with it for a month! Planning to switch to t-mobile. People in my dorms are saying good things about it.
So if the 3g network signal always stays high, the battery life can last one day when mobile data is on 24/7?

I got the $30 plan wit T-Mobile and couldn't be happier. I'm 4G jus about everywhere in the Boston area. It sucks that the nexus⁴ won't truly be able to get LTE whichT-Mobile is getting this year.

What make it worst is the carrier I have, is a att's MVNO...it won't even help me configure mobile data correctly. Now, my mobile data always get disconnected and reconnect...worst carrier ever had!
Still, the reverse predict battery is really weird...
You're seeing the time on battery backwards. It's only showing how much time has passed while the phone has been using battery. It does not have anything to do with time remaining.
you read the wrong thing; the number you read tells you how long the phone has been disconnected
& the battery setting never tells you how much time you have left on battery unless you download an app that lets you do that
oh. oops the longest i ever saw is 20 hours..
I'll try to have it on without simcard for a day and see.

Ok, I put the carrier's sim card into my old device (Xperia Neo V) and I'm getting almost full to full signal...anyone can explain this?
and on my Nexus 4, the mobile data kept on disconnecting itself, but it won't on the Neo V...

Are you on the latest update? 4.2.2? If not, try updating. If you are on the latest radio...then possibly the nexus has a weaker radio than your Xperia or the radio is defective. Try someone else's T-mobile sim in your phone see if it has the same issues. If you still have issues, a factory reset is always a good option. If that doesn't help then RMA or sell it and get another phone. Good luck

IDK if you'll get them to give you a new one....but you can try. You can certainly get them to repair it if anything.
I factory restored it before doing other steps. The wifi went back to "normal". On the 5GHz wifi, I'm getting 50mbps download testing the battery life without the sim card to see if it is really the weak signal causing the problem.
I'm willing to bet it will when I'm home and upstairs I have 3 or 4 bars of signal I can get 5 plus hours of screen on time I go downstairs where I have one bar or two I'm lucky to get three hours of screen on time and less then 15 hours before I have to charge the phone

that's weird. I'm living on the third floor and I'm always getting two to three bars. never got full signal unless i walk outside the building...

Hi all.
I have recently bought (about a month ago) a Nexus 7 32 gb WiFi model. After putting it down with a slight bump on the top right quarter of the back cover it just went off. When I put it back on the battery indicator was on 0% but it was on 80% when I put it down. Scoured the Internet, but couldn't find any one with the same problem. Warranty is still valid. Any one with the same problem and if so, do you think It will be covered by Asus? Any answer would be appreciated, thanks.

To me it sounds like a loose battery connection or broken component. RMA it. Yeah it sucks but it shouldn't be doing that.

Was thinking the same thing... Thanks anyway!

Hey guys.
Not sure if I'm posting in the right place but I've got to find out if it's just me!
Updated about 2 weeks ago to 4.2.2 via OTA and my battery life has dropped drastically.
The one thing I've always loved about the note series is the massive battery and the note 3 didn't disappoint until recently.
The phone used to last anything upto 20 hours with fair usage but since the update I get no longer than about 3-4 hours!
I'm not rooted and I've even performed a factory reset on my device and not installed any apps.
I've even turned cellular data off and left the phone in my pocket without even unlocking it yet still only 2 - 3 hours life.
Anyone else having the same issue or know of any solution?
I appreciate that downgrading back to 4.2.2 isn't possible but surely there must be something else I can do?
any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Note my screen shot of firmware version for you guys to compare.

Are you serious, from 20 hour to 3-4 hours? That is very strange. I am still on 4.3 but waiting for 4.4.2 for my region, what region version are you using?
Yeah can't believe it either. I've had to use a second phone just for work purposes.
I'm in the UK with an unlocked handset. Just received the update OTA.

Im having the very same problem. There are various posts on the net about it on various forums but there seems to be no definitive fix. Very Odd because it definately is affecting a large number of people - but here on xda - dev there dont seem to be too many?
I wanted to buy the Note 4 in the coming days but 1 question, are there any heating Problems with the n910f Version i only could only find threads for the other versions. Hope someone can help me

If you are using graphic intensive games or anything that really tests the phone then yes it can get fairly warm. Certainly gets warmer than my Note 2 but nothing that is stupidly hot
I live in greece and i bought the N910C model the 8 core! At first i was disapointed until i found out how to disable samsung DVFS(dynamic volt and frequency scaling)witch was very anoying causing games hevy lag after lets say 5 mins of playing or hard use! i can say after some days of heavy use i'm very happy with the performance and battery life also the heat isn't such a problem like it was when i had a galaxy s2 i mean it is normal heat when you play graphicaly intensive games for long time or charghing and using the phone at the same time..the last you shouldn't do it about the F model i can't say because i don't have experiance with it!i hope i helped out!
Thanks but i think all new phones will get warm right, i mean they are to powerfull wothout any cooling system
