Is there a way to force my G2 to force search/switch to LTE more frequently without completely killing the battery? I'm stock rooted with exposed and g2 tweaks installed.

I keep my GPS off to help my battery life, but every once in a while the GPS turns itself on randomly and tries to get a lock. It's an issue because while I'm inside it really struggles to get a lock and eats battery like a mofo. I got to work with 97% battery and an hour and a half later I now have 85%.
What can I do to stop this from happening short of waiting for cyanogenmod?

Install System Tuner, free from market (lots of annoying ads, no big deal).
Click the red System Android, click Android System, Details, then uncheck all 7 CarrierIQ related processes.
Worked OK for me and no FC issues with calls or anything.

Which ones are carrier IQ? I don't see ant that are explicitly named...

There's a list in the carrier IQ thread in general

EDIT: figured it out, Thanks!
THANKS! @zxrax:good:
Long story short, my gps just kept coming on by itself even after turning it off multiple times. Even after rooting, installing twrp and flashing Clean Rom 1.1 (THANKS SCOTT) it was still there. Looks like it was the carrier IQ causing the issue. I've done these three steps and haven't seen it since. Step 1: Settings>Location access> check 'Wi-Fi & Mobile network location' then uncheck 'GPS Satellite'. Step 2: On your device go to Settings>apps>runnings>Android System> IQServices> Stop. Step 3: Download 'Disable Services' app, open the app and go to android system the uncheck IQServices. That should solve the problem, also I use Wakelock and Greenify. Wakelock allows me to see what apps run while my phone is suppose to be idle and Greenify lets me put apps in hibernation so they wont do anything or process anything unless I actually open the app. I have an ATT G2 by the way..
Do you have any issues with knock on with greenify?

There was someone talking about how greenify broke knock on, but it ended up he just had a craptastic screen protector out on it. After he took it off it was fine.

Hello! I am curious on a feater of the LG G2 im heartset on it and my only concern is that you cannot get the brightness toggle in your notification bar? I am aware that the ATT version and international have it out of the box and was curious if there is an option anywhere in the phone to activate it on the verizon G2?
Thanks in advance!
Screenshot of my Verizon LG G2, brightness toggle is there. Stock Rom 4.2.2 no mods yet: )

Had the same thing on my d800 called my carrier and they sent me a warranty replacement
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I think you should be able to get a warrenty replacement this is a big concern with your device and should be covered under warrent as long as you have not rooted or fladhed kernals
Probably hardware issues.. ask for a warranty replacement.
