It's still a preview. That means a lot of things won't work and it will be buggy as well. It'd be better to wait until fall comes and to enjoy the stock update from motorola (or any rom maker) instead, as it would be much more stable and ready.

+1. Total waste of time IMHO.
come on it's a developer preview, a lot will change, wait until the final version is out.
Plus, Google didn't release the source to 'L'. Trying to create a build out of a buggy preview made for the Nexus 5 and port that to the Moto G would only be a disaster.

Ok guys, what would be the best way to start this project? I know we'll need drivers. Does anyone have a Nexus 5 we could grab those from?
The modem and camera will obviously have to be from a Moto G.

Ok at least partial source is released. I'll DL it tomorrow AM and we'll see if we can get something going.
please wait for final release for nexus devices then port it, porting developer preview is not worth it :/
@everyone
If you feel like it's not worth porting a dev preview, it will be too buggy, it won't work etc. There is a simple solution, you don't port it! But if some one wants to try it, what problem do you have? Why discourage him? You have nothing to lose. Also, you aren't obliged to flash the ROM. Please stop this negativity. Help or stfu.

No it is not! It is a bunch of bad reporting. They released the partial source to "L". Not the full AOSP source to build a ROM. I would imagine the only reason was so they complied with the GPL.
To use the most update art on g we can take libart from L preview. Or we need other?
it would be great.

Stupid question, but what is OmniROM and what does it mean for the end-user? I just saw a post from XDA on my Facebook feed, and it seems like kind of a big deal.

I've had an iPhone since about three months ago (because they were the only phones readily available to be bought used and without a contract), but have always kept up with Android. It doesn't seem like innovation stopped. What are we missing now? Cyanogenmod seems to be packed with innovative features, so does AOKP.
BTW, great signature.

I don't think any iPhone is in the works for omni at the moment
I felt what was missing was a team to implement ideas that have never been imagined by the average person, or have been thought of as to be "too difficult" to implement.
I feel this rom, and the team behind it, is the answer to this problem, which should open doors up in other teams, including cyanogenmod
And thanks

It WOULD be a feat to crack the iPhone's bootloader past the iPhone 3G and get Android booting on there, wouldn't it..?
So, the OmniROM will not just be another copy of another custom ROM? Now that it's being mentioned, I do feel like a lot of them just have the same features.Maybe that's why I'm not fully satisfied when I habitually flash new ROMS.

I work with someone who builds for the iPhone. I might get them to add omni support for it.
Omni is based on aosp (the stock source from google). From their patches are added to support an array of devices. Then new features are added. Seeing as it's a fairly new project (only been around 2 months), there aren't a lot of new features, however there are a few ones to note
They are adding true multi window support
The quick settings tiles are flipable
There see, so to be a new app called "OmniGears". I'm unsure about what exactly this will do, but it seems to contain rom specific settings
I hope this is enough to convince you this won't be a "copy of another rom"

im also very interested as to which phones will be supported...but not only that but how easy will it be to get your device supported...im over in Asia and there aren't variants that aren't well supported by the major custom rom developers like AOKP, CM, Panandroid....which makes it really hard and sucks to get in on the "open source" goodness...i hope Omni is easy to bring to a large selection of phones...
EDIT: ok, well that makes sense the vanilla versions...just hope its easier to get more on board...

As for not being supported. Unfortunately it's down to getting a device maintainer. There will be guides posted no doubt, and this is xda. Basically a massive manual on hacking android

If you can get AOSP to run on your device, you should be able to get Omni to run. Currently, a device tree needs nothing significant beyond an AOSP tree (I think about 3 lines of changes to make an AOSP tree work in Omni). This means work on porting Omni is helpful to those wanting AOSP as well.

I usually just port Custom Rom's to devices. Not really port I guess, just have to change the device tree. Do a little bit of kernel stuff to.
I don't consider myself a dev, but I will be getting one of these, once the "Sand" version is available.
I am wondering how much more difficult everything is going to be between Lollipop/SELinux and 64-bit capability.
This will be my first Nexus device as well - closest I've had up to now is running GPE on my M8.

No problem.
But what really annoys me, is that at 99% it stuck at syncing. I wasted 5 hours on sitting and watching and now this. Thank you github/PC/my life for doing such a great thing to me.
Well, I guess I'll have to resync..
EDIT: Finally found what the problem was. In default.xml a repo was there which doesn't exists anymore. That's why it simply stopped at this point. Now it worked and I'm done syncing. I can start building now!

Yeah, I got an error last night. I will fix it today in the evening. It will be available soon if everything else is okay. (currently I'm really busy)

Please make sure to check if Dual SIM is working if you are using XT1022. Thanks!
[REQUEST] Pure Speed X ROM
I would prefer Pure Speed X ROM :good:
Hey guys, most of us know that cm13 is in the works for our beloved G2, but I don't think many of us know anything about the development.
Do any of you have any information about how the development is going?

Where did you find the build? and is it up for the T-Mobile version?
I'm actually trying to build CM13 for the G2, launch the "brunch" command 15 minutes ago, will see how it ends.. But already tried today, ends up with an error.
Again, an error.

No, unfortunately... This time I got an error about "No private recovery resources for TARGET_DEVICE", I made some research and don't find anything explicit. I'll try more this week, but I work, so I can't do as much as I did last week-end. Also, I think @Rashed97 is the maintainer on github, so every progress came from him. We also have to wait until we have all necessary files. But I'll try again and again, don't worry dude !
so excited for trying marshmallow on g2
there's some temporary commits on gerrit, which fixes cm-13.0 build for g2.
But, as I said, they're temporary. When cm13 gets the cm12.1 features, these commits won't be needed.
Great Daniel, thanks! There is a chance that you could share an alpha cm13 with us? just for curiosity of course, I'm expecting that most isn't working at the moment
The reason no one has posted builds yet is because cm13 is unusable as a daily driver. RIL isnt fully working and I don't know what else is broken since I don't use it much. When it's stable enough, then we'll start distributing test builds.

I think we are just getting excited including me. This little phone has gone a long way. They are working hard, seems like new activity on the commits every day. I think we all appreciate the work and its hard to contain ourselves especially when we start seeing all the development activity. Seems to happen every release cycle, patience versus readiness. Look forward to the build when it's ready, I think they will give us something good.
Oh my, i want android m on my lg g2 so bad
Can't wait for it!

And.... Any developer (if it is possible) can give us an approximate percentage of the develop of the rom? 20%? 50%?

Its really hard for the devs to know how far they are let's say they get most the bugs out but one then when they try and fix that one bug other bugs come around only to make things worse but let's hope that like last year it'll be mid November for the new android to start rolling out for us.
