I have to agree with the above. This isn't even the right place to ask a QUESTION. Second, just duo a quick search, if not in xda, art least Google. He can get the answers.

This phone is so popular, so fast, people are just jumping in wanting to root and Rom , etc. without even doing a Google search. Look at the Cloudy G3 thread. It's been cleaned up a million times from the same questions and same remarks.
Just my opinion. Everyone is allowed to have one. No one has to like it.

A little organization please

Would like to see the debt section organize into sub folders to.seperate the confusion. Example:
Sub:roms
Suborts
Sub:betas
Sub:kernels
Sub:wips
Would help find things easier

I think it's fine the way it is
I wish it was by Developer
EVO Development split into 3 parts, sections for ROMs and kernels and guides/tweaks.
Then have it broken down by developer or by how recently it has been updated.

I think maybe a sticky listing AOSP vs. Sense would be cool.
Or maybe a new subforum called "Outdated development" that everything older than like 6 months could be moved to. Not complaining, just offering some thoughts.
That's one thing SDX does, is ad child categories per version, like listed above, ie. 2.1, 2.3, etc....

a ROMS subforum and a Kernel subforum would be nice. we dont need ports and betas subforums cuz that'll just be confusing, and we dont need a WIP subforum since everything is a WIP.
I've already tried talking to the mods of the Evo 4G forum and they didn't think it was a good idea. This was about a year ago though.
just read about what your looking for in the forums, it might be a pain in the ass but atleast you'll learn something. plus thats what the search button is for.

no i get it believe me, i just dont think the mods/admins would go through with it. the way the site is now personally i thinks it best left the way it is, makes the noobs actually have to search and read to find what their looking for. thats just me though.

New OTA today

I am sure this must have been posted somewhere already, but I didn't see it. I only saw threads on the new source code deposit for EL30.
http://www.androidcentral.com/sprint-rolling-out-ota-updates-evo-4g-epic-4g-evo-design-4g
Epic 4G
Update to version S700.0.5S.EL30
Security update
Speaker feedback fix
The QIK and Asphalt 5 applications are no longer preloaded. When opening the applications using the application icon, you will be redirected to the Android market to download and install the full application.
After the QIK install, you will need to login using your original account information or create a new account. All contacts should remain intact
After the Asphalt 5 install, previous game play data (eg. levels) will not be retained.

Dude its the same thing pretty much no one wants another thread talking about EL30.

Sorry not trying to gripe or be rude but its ridiculous that there's this many threads about the same thing. they all relate to the same thing. just because one person posts about a kernel, doesn't mean another person has to post about the modem or the tar.
We all know its coming but after 2 threads its just killing it. Again no disrespect or harsh feeling but we all don't want to see several threads dealing with the same thing is all.

every time someone posts on a thread that nobody likes, it bumps the thread back to the top of the list instead of just burying it (hint hint)

I think all you fools poking jabs at this guy and putting him down need grow up. If you really need to feel important that badly, go beat your 9 yr old cousin in Super Smash Bros or something.
Sure, he probably didn't search good enough before posting, but the fact remains, the guy was just trying to help out. Let's not make this such a negative cliquey place...there's love enough for everyone. Can't we all just get along?
How is your comment any different? We give the original poster a little teasing, and you start throwing comments at the people who aren't posting the same info for the 30th time. If anything said here has made you THAT butthurt, then whoa. Moving along.

He's right, the posts about the OTA on EL30 just started this week. There WERE posts about EL30 being worked on in early January. I don't see the need to complain about a few OTA threads...besides, existing threads usually get way off track and keep rising to the top for topics not even related to the original title.

Sorry for the tirade, I'm not butthurt (eww), I just tire of people putting people down because they are trying to help (which yes, I did do, and shouldn't have). But at least it's been said.
So let's all just try to be civil moving forward.

[Poll] do you like this new combined gs3 forum

I don't like it
Also guys when you vote please post something
This keeps the thread up high
Far from the second page
Some things are common across the GS3 independent of the carrier but there are some that are dependent on the carrier. General accessories could all be grouped into one but carrier specific ship dates, etc, being jumbled all into one it's hard to find threads you aren't subscribed to. Looks like I need to subscribe to more but somehow mute tapatalk from notifications.

XDA isn't a carrier forum. Go to HowardForums or Sprint.com if you want that.
XDA is about DEVICES. The L710 is the same configuration no matter what carrier you're on. This is how it should be.
Back in my day, under the HTC Vogue, we supported both Verizon and Sprint, and we liked it.
I don't like it. I can understand things where there are overlap like accessories, but having a carrier specific forum for general was nice because we could talk about carrier specific topics.
I get what the admins are trying to do. Save server space from redundant threads....However, AFAIC it still sucks.
I like the way things are, but time will tell how much of an unholy mess it turns out to be...

dont they all have the same hardware? so wont roms made for one, work for all? with separate forums devs will have to make multiple redundant threads?
As long as people aren't ignorant this will be fine.

No, they will not work across each carrier, in theory they can. But I'm gonna guess each carrier has diff apps added. And diff framework icons. So the answer is no, they will not (radios get flashed outside of roms these days, no problem there).
Anyways this is related to the general section, development is still split, which is great.

And I guess you know what it means to have diff related things that arnt common between carries also right, that's why they split up development. And should have also made diff general sections.

no good especially since the forum names are the same as the internatrional sgs iii.
so in apps like tapatalk and xda in favorites you now have to forums where the names are exactly the same.
I think it would be better. Better development, better collaboration, pooling of dev resources.
Now it won't be noob friendly because I can see noobs already flashing AT&T Radios for a Sprint phone and bricking their devices.
I like and hate it. I think it was too soon to combine the General forum. These devices are still in a very volatile shipping status and until that clears people will be using the general threads to see if anyone has any updates. Clutters the whole process.
Yes Themes should be split. Were not talking Metamorph here. We are talking actual apk's and framework files. Xml diffs etc...

More app support for QuickWindow feature

Loving the QuickWindow feature of this phone, but disappointed by the small number of apps that support it and the limited functionality of it. The Galaxy S4 version allows for complete reading of incoming text messages as well as their dismissal. And also to visibility of who your missed calls are from too I think..
It would be great for Google Play Music to be supported also.
So I guess this is a request for development along those lines... Thanks!
