My biggest problem with using Nova is the loss of widgets. I can find plenty of replacements for the weather and clock...but I can never find a decent, clean calendar replacement for the htc/lg/samsung calendar widget.
Curious, what widgets do you guys use for calendar and everything else?
Thanks!

I dedicate a whole home screen for a calender and agenda.
I'm using Jorte and simple calendar widget right now.
But you should look at pure grid which I've used for many years. Pure has a lot of customizatons to it.
I used Jorte for a long time back when I ran CM roms in the good days of unlocked bootloaders. It's too busy for me now. I found a simple calendar widget that opens Samsungs calendar. Works so far. Just feels like something is still not quite right when using 3rd party launchers. Can't put my finger on it.
Thanks for the reply

I use aCalendar, and the month-view widget.
I thought jorte would be a little too busy for you.
The one jpm posted above looks nice and clean though. [emoji6]
Here's my set up but don't laugh at my pink stuff! Lol
Thanks for the input guys. ! (And girls)

It seems I've set up nova with a few widgets and my battery life has drastically decreased. All I'm using really is transparent weather and testra from nova
Yep. Lost 22% battery in 6 hours with only 50 minutes screen on time. Not the worst, but definitely not good battery life

That's just my wallpaper, and a transparency setting in the aCalender widget.

I keep mine pretty simple. Just my kid, a clock, and dock. I didn't bother to show the other screens because it is just launcher pro widgets.

Something I did from scratch. Icons are from dreamflye (or how ever its spelled). I was inspired by his dock, I liked it but it didn't fit what I was going for. So I did my own. I've been toying with releasing it.

Yeah dude...you should release it. If noone else uses it...I sure will!

PM me your contact info and your color preference and I will send it to you. I can't really send the icons yet because they are not my work, but I will be doing some of my own in the future (text icons are easy). I can maybe do a small request of icons if you let me know.
I am working on getting the some variations done before I release it (Tab on left, right, or center). I kind of want to release a bunch of variations so people can pick what they like. And I probably need to do some icons (at least the basics).
droid 2, epic 2.5, modified stock theme
Hey faceless, you wanna' post your dock icons? I like the extended right tab a lot (and I'm also too lazy to make my own unless I really have to )
Here's an article on AndroidPolice with a 6 minute video demonstrating the new features.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/1...eleased-transitions-to-a-whole-new-dimension/
This one might finally get me to drop LauncherPro Plus!
Differences between ADW.Launcher and ADWLauncher EX
* 5 different app drawer styles/behaviors
o 3D Nexus One like application drawer
o 2 different plain vertical drawer styles, the "old one" and a new fast and smooth one
o 2 different iPhone-like horizontal application drawers, a traditional paginated one and a new one with continuous fling
* Different desktop transitions: new animations while navigating through your desktop screens. Try them all, they’re crazy!!!
* New Icons configurations/look and feel: Tweak your desktop icons, change its sizes, add coloured backgrounds, change font size, color, etc!
* New fast presets mode: Quickly change the whole desktop configuration by 1 click!
* Editable desktop icons for applications, shortcuts and folders!
* Lots of code improvements
* More, more more to come!!
Played around with it while some features are cool it still lags. Im going to stay with launcher pro.

That's the biggest reason I switched to LPP from adw. It wasn't a problem with the features, its just not as fast and smooth as LPP.
Sent from my cm6.1 Aria using XDA App
I didn't find any lag with this new version... but I'm still sticking with LauncherPro Plus because the widget resize feature works better and because the LPP widgets are so nice.
I didn't mind paying the $3.50 for ADW just to contribute to a developer who has put so much into his work and it's all been free until now. Plus, this way I'll get automatic ADW updates and maybe eventually it will add the features I want.
Has anyone figured out how to hide app labels in the drawer? I hope he doesn't leave out that feature in this version.

launcherpro plus
circle battery widget
minimalistic text widgets
launcherpro icons app
desktop visualizer
those are my mainstays for visual customizations. I also use the Minimal Magic theme with the theme chooser built into the CM7 roms.
I ended up using Adw ex, pure calendar, pure grid calendar, battstat pro, pure music player, fancy Widgets pro, SMS unread count, blue theme for cm7, and senses theme for cm7 and I'm pretty happy with it. I had beautiful Widgets before fancy Widgets but it seemed to have raped my battery so I switched

I gave it a trial run.. its kind of a memory hog and it also runs a little choppy but its not completely bad. Not sure how it will run if you're not overclocked.. it does look pretty good though. I ended up going back to Adw ex though

Good info, thanks.
Pretty much I'm asking. Is there a launcher that is like adw and launcher pro but is compatible with sense widgets.
I've been looking but not finding.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
There isn't one. Sense, including the widgets, is proprietary to HTC and they are very quick to sue when it comes to their property. There are some skins available that make use of the google apps, calendar and music, that work well with LauncherPro. I've used Pure Music Widget by francois Deslanders and it has a nice transparent 4x4 widget.
Sad face...
Hmm I see the issue. No one would wanna do that work for free. Thx for quick response.

I've seen and tried some of the things you pointed out. But I guess I'm really just trying to make use of my sense rom. I'm using launcher pro and I love it but not being able to you the weather widget has always bugged me.

Beautiful Widgets has almost the exact same weather/clock widget as HTC, plus hundred of others to choose from. Only problem I ever had with it is it gets my location wrong sometimes.
Thx I've looked into beautiful widgets but I'm talking about the full screen weather widget the one with the forcast.
The reason I was asking was mainly because of the resizing of widgets in these launchers.

GO Weather maybe?

Yeah it only has a 4x1 weather widget which kind of sucks. Launcher Pro does allow resizing but it just keeps the same 4x1 widget and enlarges it to about 4x2 and it doesn't look good.
Cool so I just got done trying out the go weather app. Its not bad but I only really like it because of the live wallpaper.
But for that same reason It's not what I'm looking for. I do appreciate the idea. Oh well still looking.
I guess what I'm really looking for is that sense 4x4 forcast widget on one of my launcher pro screens. (I know not possible lol)

Bugs me how when you install an app it automatically drops the app on your home screen. That can be changed (I wasn't aware after months of owning the the XOOM).

I actually like that feature since I'm usually too lazy to add an icon to the home screen and I find it less annoying to delete unused icons than it is to add new ones.
