Ive been on the new update for a while and have had a few bugs ie, auto brightness, auto rotation, gear watch not function properly with phone and a few other small issues that ive troubleshot around on here even trying the samsung hub fix even with other roms such as baja and hyperdrive
All I want to do is do a full wipe and revert to stock factory out of the box with the newest update.
To get back to factory im going to follow this thread (also will that downgrade the firmware from kk to jb?)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2576104
Then ive downloaded the modem and full stock tar files from here for the nc4 update
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524572
but ive also found so many nc4 files that are all different sizes im not sure what exactly i need and whats a duplicate such as the nc4 file listed in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2740466
Any help would be greatly appreciated and i will hit the thanks button. Thank you in advance

Did you initially take the OTA and root or did you upgrade from MJE to 4.4.2 via a ROM flash and Odin?
If you rooted MJE and upgraded that way all you need to do is follow the instructions in the first link you posted then take the OTA.

Was it NC2 or NC4?
If it was NC2 and you just want stock NC4 (OTA) then just use the instructions in the first link you posted, that will bring you back to stock MJE, then just take the OTA. I would also follow these instructions to fully wipe your internal sdcard in SS before using Odin to go back to MJE.

If it was NC2 (check your build number in about phone and see if it ends in NC2) then use Odin to flash the full MJE tar file, root it with Towelroot, install SS (3.65) , SU and busybox (once you install the BB app open it and do the actuall install). Once that is all done I would suggest you install beans stock, root, deodex NC4 ROM and then wait for Baja 16.
Just follow the instructions in the second post for "Coming From NC2/MJE"
Here is a link to that ROM.

I activated my S4, and I 'thought' I had taken the MDL update before I rooted, apparently not. My WIFI will not come on and I get the nag notice every time I try to open. Upon looking at my About Device screen I see that that my baseband version is L720VPUAMDC but my Build number shows JDQ39.L720VPUAMDL.
Used CF-Root and it seems to be holding according to Root Checker. I am currently downloading the stock MDC restore in an attempt to correct this problem. My hopes is a flash back to stock and starting from scratch will fix my woes. Am I wrong?
No custom recovery installed.I did a factory reset when I saw things were going bad. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Okay so I've had this phone for about 5 months now and it was great and working fine but now when I try to make calls the phone will freeze and I have to take out the battery. Every time I do that the first few calls works just fine but then I go to call and it freezes also when people try to call me it says my phone is off pretty much straight to voice mail. Not sure if it's the phone or the SIM but most likely it's the SIM and I plan on getting a new one tomorrow anyway just thought I'd add that tiny issue. Now, I am trying to update it to 4.4.2, these are the current phone specs:
Baseband version - I337UCUAMF3
Kernel version - 3.4.0-812098 [email protected] #1
Build number - JDQ39.I337UCUAMF3
So I wiped and reset my phone and tried to install an update via recovery but it says error and fails, same with Odin, I downloaded I337UCUAMDL_I337ATTAMDL_I337UCUAMDL_HOME.tar.md5 from Sammobile which is 4.4.2 trying to install and it fails almost instantly on Odin, I'm not too good with this I just want my phone working again and if possible with 4.4.2 any tips and help please and thanks, oh and also when I boot into recovery mode the little guy shows a red X and says NO COMMAND and when trying to wipe cache or do anything it says ERROR, any help much appreciated, if you need any more info please let me know I will reply tomorrow when I wake up, good night all and thanks to who ever tries to help

Just go back, read it all, and try again. It will still let you flash it. Safestrap is a custom recovery that can be used on locked bootloaders, but only to flash other Touchwiz ROMs in our case. No AOSP like Cyanogen, Paranoid Android, AOKP, etc

MK2 is 4.3, NB1 is 4.4.2. What i recommend you do is reflash the full odin tar to fix the errors and then you can follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2680868
That will let you get a rooted 4.4.2 ROM. For a list of all working ones, check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51130834&postcount=3
There's even a stock NB1 ROM with root on there, but you can try out all the others also.

Are you trying to update to the rooted 4.4.2 build by Beanstown? If so you have to be rooted on 4.3 and flash his odex or deodexed build with safestrap 3.65. Then boot to download mode and flash the firmware with odin. If you tried to just flash the firmware it's not going to work.
