I'll try to shoot a short film with sgs2 in next few weeks. Managed to attach it to my dslr rig and sound will be recorded via zoom h4n & ntg2 shotgun mic. I did a quick test today with lgcamera because that is the only one that I found that had infinity/macro focus option, but no ISO settings. The stock camera is practically unusable because of the continuous focus. But lgcamera had a lot of problems and the videos know to end up with glitches and freezes sometimes. Is there a camera app or modified stock camera that has focus settings (auto/infinity/macro)? I'm on non-rooted sgs2, int version.
Here is the test video
and here is the rig

Hello all,
I've been looking around to buy this phone and most reviewers say that the low light camera is bad. However, one review did say that with night mode, it gets much better. Is this true? If so, why don't the reviewers use that mode? Am I missing something?
Thanks
bump
These were shot with night mode in my dimly lit studio (only a 60 watt lamp in the opposite corner is on) on a Moto X Pure Edition.
I think the camera on this phone is great compared to my previous Moto phones. Especially with well-lit shots. You can decide for yourself by the photos.

Sent from my XT1575 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Today I wanted to take a panorama and when I open the camera app I see only auto mode.
I tried clearing data and restarting but its still the same. On tapping the + icon on top right, galaxy app store opens and I see additional modes like beauty face, rear cam selfie etc but the ones that were preinstalled (panorama, pro, selective focus etc) aren't there. I'm running the latest update.
Build number: NRD90m.G950FXXU1AQI7
I really don't wish to do a factory reset unless it's the last resort.

I've tried both cameras and for some reason my rear camera is blurry and will not focus. I've looked online but found no solutions. Can you offer any ideas.
I'd recommend using the paid app snap camera hdr. i use it on my LG Stylo 2 Plus, and I understand it's a similar phone to this one. Hit me up on telegram @c0mpl3xy and I'll tell you how I have it set up. here's a Google photos album of my best shots with that app in the Stylo 2 Plus: https://photos.app.goo.gl/TUphQHuJ6NPYFWZ52
