About to join the Oneplus One club - just ordered - ONE General

Hello Oneplus One family! I just pulled the trigger and bought my 64GB Oneplus One. I'm really excited.
I'll be upgrading from a Nexus 4. Its been my baby for a while now, but it will go to another good home. I think I'm most excited about the additional space (8GB just isn't anywhere near enough...) and that gorgeous 1080p screen! Hopefully that massive thing will fit into my pockets
Just wanted to say Hi and that I'm excited to join the community.

(PS - don't bother asking for the extra invite I'll probably get - its already promised to my wife.)

Congrats
Welcome to the club! I'm also upgrading from my good ole' Nexus 4. It has served me well but OPO has prompted me to move on. Glad to hear that yours is going to a good home. Also, congratulations!

Welcome, but as there are already plenty of general discussion threads in here, these type thread get closed...

Hi I'm new :)

Hi as the title says I'm new to the site I seen it after reading about this forum on a tech site , so my story is Dec26my contract was ready for a upgrade took the plunge and went for the nexus S over the iPhone 4 I'm really glad I did I love the phone and the OS iknow a lot of people are bashing it but I don't see the fuss , I've had slowdown but nothing to start getting angry over. I can't wait to see what updates come out and what developers do with the tech.
I do have the issue with apps not showing but my guess is it's just comatability so biggy for me, I love the notification bar too very sweet feature I see why people always say iPhone doesn't do it as good as android, overall I find iOS has a more user-friendly feel to it and looks, but android does the job and does it good and takes the hard stuff out for you.
I'm planning on getting into development I have no experience but I plan on reading books and teaching myself it's a OS I want to stay with.
Welcome to the forums and thank you for the introduction.
I'm sure you will grow to love your Nexus S and Android even more as you play with all the excellent contributions from this development community.
Thank you, it was my main reason to joining I love what communities can do.

Yet another farewell thread

T-Mobile was offering a web special on a free G2 for activating a new line. Even with Sprint's 2-year contract renewal, the Evo Shift 4G and Nexus S 4G cost $150 and $200, respectively. Also, 4.3" devices like the EVO 3D are of no interest to me. It was cheaper for me to cough up the early termination fee. My G2 should arrive on Monday.
Before I leave, I want to thank everyone who has positively contributed to my Android experience with the Hero. This development community continues to exceeded my expectations... I still find it hard to believe we're all content with running an Android with 1st generation hardware, and we have great devs to thank for that. Even after the legendary devs like toastcfh, nfinitefx45, and others have left, we have new great devs who filled in. And of course, thanks to all the regulars who keep this forum alive and provide a supportive environment (you know who you are). Although I'm not as talkative and dedicated as some of you, I just hope I've been able contribute my share of helping and support as well
you will be missed sir.. and i dont blame you thats a pretty good deal.. im too stuck on sprint to leave, they have been too good to me over the years.. but have often said that if i left i would go t-mo for some of their devices.. so God speed my friend, im sure we will see you floating around here somewhere..
A man it was a blast having you apart of the hero community. Thanks for all the knowledge and time you put into the hero forums. Take care and enjoy your new phone. Have a good one.
#Root/Hack-Mod_Always*
Thanks for the kind words everyone I'll probably still be checking up on the never ending progress that is aospCmod and the revived 2.6.35 kernel
Peace c00ller. Enjoy your new phone. It was fun
Cooller,
Thanks for the help that you have given to many. I, as many others I'm sure- and as you can see, appreciate what you have brought to the hero threads. I moved from Verizon to Sprint for the $ reason's as well and for me, it was a good move. I got my 1st android phone (our Hero's) and I found XDA. It has been a great experience (learning, fun, and a great way to kill some time) and you have been a part of making it so.
Good luck and happy flashing. I know that whatever phone you are using, you will still be apart of this great community on XDA and the jewels that are made and found here.
I think I feel a tear coming on. No, it was just gas.
Happy Flashing!
DP (I should have gone with DogPoop instead since I'm not drunk and not a pilot...today anyway).

Goodbye* & Thanks

hey guys, i wanted to say thanks to everyone in this forum:
- the devs for taking time creating amazing work that to help improve, theme, mod, etc. our device to an extent beyond the what samsung/sprint couldnt or wouldnt do. THE DEVS ARE THE DRIVING FORCE OF THIS SITE - i cannot thank u enough either monetarily or by clicking the "thanks" button. ur work (regardless if i have flashed it or not) is incredible. cheers!
- the members for helping out the devs w/bug reports, answering questions, and general help w/either questions i had or welcoming in a rookie. this is a VERY friendly forum and thats not always the case in other forums. thanks!
for anyone who cares i haved moved on to the GSIII. i took advantage of the one day $100 best buy sale a few days back. the EPIC 4G was my first smartphone and android device. because of the devs and the community here - I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A "non android" PHONE. i understand now why its even laughable to me that anyone would purchase an iPhone over and android device.
long live the original and BEST of the Galaxy S devices.:highfive:
thanks again guys!!!
*for the savvy readers who caught the (*)asterick in the title of thread...its because my wife still has her EPIC 4G. i made needs ya'lls help in the future

So You Want The One?

Hey guys, if you want the One, there are a ways of going about it...I'm speaking this from experience because I have gotten an invite, and 4 of my friends have (some devs, some not). I know some of these are obvious, but sometimes, people disregard some of the most obvious ways
So what's makes us special? That's the beautiful part: nothing
I'll start off by saying how I got it. I was one of the first 5000 members of the forums. But I never posted. like ever lol. Eventually, I checked my spam and saw the invite. Easy enough. So be alert
Next, one of my friends was the opposite of me. He was late to the forum, but really enjoyed the OnePlus community. He was very active. He got to the "kitkat" level in the forum system and soon enough, he got an invite. So be active
My second friend got it because he won one of their contests. Simple as that. So be aware.
Lastly, two of my friends got it via invites from people they knew. So be social.
Now, if you're really impatient, buy the ColorOS edition OnePlus, and flash CM11S onto it. That's my last piece of advice: be flexible
A summation for those who don't want to spend time:
Be Alert
Be Active
Be Aware
Be Social
It's just a phone, not a Target's team members seminar. Pretty sure eventually the phone will become widely available and the exclusivity will wear off.

Oh it will definitely. But people don't want to wait. There are literally thousands of people begging for invites on G+ and the OnePlus forums. I just thought I'd share my experiences to help the people who really want it
Also, I actually like Target lol. I made the post like this just because I thought it was easier to follow and simpler to remember

[Review][Share] OnePlus One Review – Is it still worth buying?

I brought one for myself a few days back, and now I do feel "why did I miss buying this?".
Here is a review I wrote about the OnePlus One, which might help the gonna-be owners get an idea of what comes and why it is a decent choice in the price range.
I am sharing what I wrote today, and I hope you will like
