Windows 8 and Transformer TF101 - Windows 8 General

Before everyone has a heart attack, I thought it was impossible too until I stumbled upon this...

Anyone care to explain? Thanks!

Dunno about the 101, but the 103C uses a standard Intel chip. The 101 probably does too. Android has run on x86 for a couple years now; this is nothing revolutionary.
EDIT: Apparently the 101 uses a Tegra chip, so not x86 after all. In that case I can only assume it's a mistake in their listing.
Also, screenshots. Learn to use them, please!

I think it means compatible as a peripheral device. IE connecting it by USB or Bluetooth to sync files

Oh derp, right, of course. It's not something you install Win8 on, it's something you connect to Win8 for transferring files on or off, etc.

I would share it but it isn't an application but rather an online thing

Requesting application ideas PM me
Just got my invite as well but I am using Windows 7 64 bit, known issue with that so therefore no joy for me
Looking for ideas as well, to bad the system does not allow manipulation of the camera and mic.
I'm on win7 64-bit & it hasn't given me any issues.
Interesting, one of the Google guys said there is a fox coming in a wee or so for this.

got it today also!!!
A multi touch ocarina app would be great.

Same here, I can use it at work (XP 32bit) and at home (Win 7 x64) and I actually get more niggles on XP!
It's actually very good, not massively powerful but a lot more than I was expecting

"N" Wireless issue?

I know some people have reported issues with wifi, but on my dell I cannot connect to my router when its in N mode, but when I put my router in mixed mode then it cant connect fine, it doesn't matter a whole lot but I'd like to just keep my router in N mode to make things faster. Any one have similar issues or ideas?
The DVP dosen't support 802.11N:
"WLAN802.11b/g, Bluetooth® 2.1 EDR, USB 2.0 HS"
bummer, well I thought I saw it say it did on some site so thats why I tried
I know this is an early spec sheet but it does show that it has wireless n here:

Yeah that was pre-official release
Like, really early, because that mentions it as Windows Mobile 7 and is still called the Lightning, not to mention it doesn't look ANYTHING like WP7

will this work on N7?

I know it says it's for xperia play, or something, but the guy said in his thread that it should work for all OTG devices.
I however don't have a usb hub right now, so if anyone with soldering skills wants to try this, let me know if it works.

The potential to brick your device by shorting it out is high with this, someone with balls of steel would need to test it.
basic circuitry looks okay but I don't know if the sony devices do anything funny to allow for this on their official dock, you also may have to experement with different ohm resistors to find the sweet spot for our device.

Windows Laptop | Text turns into Garbage like pixels on Web browser

Hi Guys,
After a while my Windows machine keeps turning all the text that is still on the screen(mostly when the screen is idle) in to Garbage looking Pixels.
I have attached the images too.

Also, I re-installed my graphics drivers just in case.
Still the problem persists.
Just wanted to get some idea on what should I be doing now.
Thank you,

Graphic chip problem
Hi!
If reinstalling the graphics driver didn't help then the problem with the graphics chip is most likely.
Contacts under the BGA chip are problematic.

I was thinking that the interface was raw. Still 15 contacts is not really enough for more than 6 vertical pixels per row.
You have two dual winding steppers (4 wires each), that would be 8 contacts if there were no drivers there.
Is the coily cord stuff an optional cutter?
Ohm it out and see if the stepper coils go directly to "CN5".
Or take it apart and look for driver ICs.
