[Q] How to get 3G/H+ working on my phone again... - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hi all,
I have my jfltespr overseas - I unlocked it when I first got here with Cyanogenmod and, I believe, MK2 modem, and all was great, but I couldn't "End" calls from my end, so I wanted a change... I just updated to 4.4.4 Liquid Smooth, which is a fantastic ROM, but I am having issue with data connectivity (only get 2G connection).
I started with the NAE baseband, of which everything worked, except audio - the phone was completely mute, even after reflashing, as if the audio drivers were missing... so I downgraded to MDC, and while audio and everything seems to be working, I am stuck with only an Edge (2G) connection. Going into Settings > Mobile Networks, I only have the option of "2G, 3G, and LTE" (unlike all of the other stuff I had before, like WCDMA Preferred, etc) and if I try anything other than 2G, I see "3G" quickly flash on the notification bar as it connects, then it seems like the connection suddenly crashes and I lose the data connection until I cycle back to 2G again, where it will then quickly connect to Edge and remain stably connected (so only Edge works).
Any recommendations on how I can get 3G/H+ back? It worked great before, so it's not an unlocking issue, and my SIM is recognized... I think NAE might be required for 4.4.4? If so, why doesn't my audio work (no speaker, headset, nothing) with it? I did a clean wipe (formatted internal memory, even) and wiped all caches. If I could get NAE stable on my phone, that'd fix it - else how do I get back 3G connectivity with another baseband?
My info:
ROM: Liquid Smooth (LS-KK-v3.1-2014-06-21)
Android: 4.4.4
Baseband: L720VPUAMDC
Kernel: 3.4.93-PoKernel-v2.5 (21 June 2014)

[Q] Modem problem with SGS

I am facing a weird problem with my SGS since I signed up for 3G services with Vodafone in AP, India.
When switched on, the phone first connects to the 2G network and stays there for a few minutes. When it tries to connect to the 3G network a little later, all hell breaks loose.
I was originally on Galnet MIUI v5.1 when this first happened. The phone application (com.google.phone or something similar) would FC on trying to connect to the 3G network and I would lose network connectivity completely.
I thought this might be an issue with the modem/csc so I tried switching modems. Nothing helped.
I later shifted to Darky's 10.1 with the default modem and multi-csc. On that, I would get a toast saying "Refreshing SIM data" every time the phone tried to connect to 3G and after a few tries, I would lose network connectivity again.
Same behaviour on Juwe's 5.1, and on stock DDJV6. DDJV6 is the latest official ROM for my region(India) so I assume it has the correct modem. I set the CSC to INU manually.
The phone works perfectly if I keep the network type settings to GSM only.
Any ideas on why this could be happening and a possible fix?

[PROBLEM] No signal with HSDPA activated

Hey,
so today I noticed my N4 couldn't get any telephone signal whatsoever. At first I thought the provider was just having issues but when I came home and tested my other phone it worked fine, so it's an issue with my N4.
Did a factory reset, problem remained. Then I tried activating 2G only and all of sudden the signal was back, telephone and data on 2G and everything works fine.
As soon as I uncheck 2G only however, both signals are gone and here's the kicker: even when wifi is activated and connected I get no signal. (with 2G+wifi I do however)
Had faux' kernel installed on stock deodexed, wen't back to stock kernel for now, didn't change anything else lately, problem just randomly appeared.
EDIT: nevermind, I just realized I checked 2G only on the other phone as well and forgot about it. Same problem there. Has to be a provider issue.

[Q] Tilapia 3g problem

Hi all,
Been having some problems recently on my wife's Nexus 3g (tilapia). She had it for about six weeks now, I rooted it and installed PA on it (same as my grouper).
Everything was working fine until recently, 3g stopped working for no reason that I have been able to figure out.
What I've tried and noticed so far:
Clean install (full wipe) of PA, and also tried different custom roms - 3g not working
Tried the simcard from my phone to rule out network errors (since I'm on a different network) - still not working
In notification window, 3g coverage bar shows blue when wifi is on, asa it's turned off, a little H appears next to 3g bar, which straight away goes grey and stays that way until wifi is turned back on (this is all in range of wifi network, 3g icon does the same thing if i move far enough to lose wifi access). Strangely enough the carrier (Telstra) shows on my lockscreen, but any attempts to use the connection, like playstore, browser, go sms, all return a no connection error. Also when wifi is off and 3g icon is greyed out, the device sometimes crashes (hardlock) when trying to unlock the lockscreen (maybe unrelated).
Flashed back to stock following these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32075129&postcount=1 - problem still remains
APN settings have been tried on both auto and manual, no luck.
At this stage I'm starting to think this may be a hardware issue with the 3g modem and thinking of just returning the unit altogether.
Has anyone had anything similar happen?
EDIT I've returned it on warranty

[Q] 3G doesn't work but 2G does

I have an LG Optimus L5 sim unlocked and now 3G doesn't work anymore, 2G works fine, on either stock or custom ROM, but 3G doesn't on both stock and custom ROM, yes I am in a 3G coverage area since other phones can capt 3G signal just fine, but the second I turn on 3G it loses network immediately and doesn't let me access the internet or do anything that requires the SIM network.
However in Cyanogenmod 3G works sometimes, sometimes it connects just fine (with super low signal) and sometimes it just disconnects altogether like its doing right now on stock ROM
What should I do? I already reflashed the V20 baseband (I'm on Stock 4.1.2) and that didn't fixed anything

[Q] 3G Signal not being detected - Nexus 4 running stock 5.1.1

I have a Nexus 4 which I flashed with stock 5.1.1 build LMY47V from Google's website. The procedure went smoothly, phone rebooted and I went through the out of the box experience where 3G signal was detected for a brief moment. I switched to WiFi for completing the process and downloading apps. Switched off WiFi only to find that the phone had reverted to 2G signals. Everything was fine with stock 5.1.0 before. Now if I force 3G from Android settings (which is invoked by *#*#4636#*#*) by choosing WCDMA only then it doesn't detect any signal at all! Choosing WCDMA preferred takes it back to 2G which works perfectly fine. I have tried different service providers which resulted in the exact same problem. Anyone else is facing similar problems?
