Bricked? Stuck at GS4 splash screen (NC1, rooted GPE) - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hi,
I recently did a factory reset through safestrap while using the 4.4 GPE rom, and now I can't boot back into safestrap. It stays stuck at the splash screen. I can however get into download mode and the normal non-safestrap recovery. How do I unbrick this?

Flash the stock firmware that you were on. The link can be found in the all things AT&T thread.

So flash the NC1 tar files in the thread titled "4.4 stock odin tars"

What ROM were you on, were you on NB1 at any point, did you flash the NB1 or MLD bootloaders? You should always be very descriptive in order to receive help quickly.
thanks for replying!!!

[Q] How to unbrick Galaxy s4 i337 when don't know firmware version?

Hi,
I just received my galaxy s4 i337 today. I was already installed rom Deadly Venom on this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503692 (4.4.2)
Then I want to flash to this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349077
But I found that I can't enter Recovery so I downloaded Recovery ClockworldMod from Play Store, install then install CWM. Then I boot into recovery then TWRP shown up. I wipe everything (system, data, cache, ... exclude usb-ota and one thing I don't remember). Then I flashed new rom.
After reboot, the phone stuck at Samsung Galaxy S4 logo, blue led blinking. Then I restart to recovery mode, flash this rom again, and wipe cache/davik. Now the phone still stuck at logo, no led light blinking anymore and I can't enter recovery mode anymore (
I've searched all night to find how to solve my problem but it seem that I've to know my firmware version (mdl, mf2, mk3,....) to flash stock but I have no idea how to know that
I'm downloading I337UCUAMDB_I337ATTAMDB_ATT to try to flash by odin but I still very scare that it not work because I was totally lost.
Please help!!! Thank you!!!!!!
@BigShix
If u used TWRP or CWM recovery then MDB or MDL odin should fix your phone. If u use SafeStrap Recovery then u need either MF3 MK2 NB1 or NC1 odin, as long as that u are able to go to download mode/ODIN mode on your phone.

@ted77usa
Thank you for your advice. I will try MDL and MDB rom first and let you know if I have any problem.
Sorry missed the responses to the op.
If you were able to boot into twrp you're probably on mdl firmware. Start with that in Odin

[Q] Rooted Galaxy Note 3 boots to black Screen

Okay so I've searched the forums and haven't found the answer to what I'm looking for quite yet. I'm not new to rooting, but new to the Galaxy Note 3. I just recently started getting prompted for the update to KK4.4.2 (I have the Verizon model and we all know how long they take to push out updates.) So I decided to flash the leaked de-oxed NC2 rom and after follow the instructions from here. I reboot and get stuck at a black screen. It boots no further and I have to pull the battery to get back to recovery.
Am I missing something, another step maybe? Is this an old process?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Did you also flash the firmware package in odin?

Yes I also flashed the firmware through Odin. Does it matter which version of Odin I used?
Odin doesn't matter.
Root 4.3
Install safe strap.
Now you can update to the rooted 4.4 through odin.

Actually it looks as if this was caused by Odin 3.09. It doesn't seem to like the bootloader file for NC2 and for some reason doesn't load the entire boot portion of the file. Flashed with Odin 3.07 and booted no problem. Thanks for the input though.

HELP! I think I bricked my phone! Tried CWM Recovery and stuck in Odin mode!

Ok so I updated to the 5.0.1 update on my S4 yesterday and kept my root using that method with the chainfire app. Today I wanted to try flashing CWM on my S4. Upon trying on Odin 3.09, it said failed and now my S4 boots into Odin Mode and says "Firmware upgrade encountrered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & Ttry again."
WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST DO?
EDIT:
Fixed it, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/guide-odin-to-stock-updating-rooting-t2926642

Safestrap doesn't allow recovery boot for lollipop. This is because safestrap hasn't been updated for lollipop yet. Everyone's moving to lollipop someone will update it or come up with a alternative soon I'm sure.

If you want to fix the stock recovery. find the OC3 Stock Partitions file and ODIN it to your phone. If you find the one that's a zip file, you'll have to ODIN a kitkat kernel to flash that in Safestrap.

I don't understand. I've never used safestrap. I was able to flash back using odin to the nc4. Than flashed to NJ1, rooted that, then upgraded to 5.0.1 while keeping root using that flashfire method.
Now if I use flashfire, do a cache wipe that way I can access flashfire's reboot options, select boot to recovery, it will boot to recovery fine. I just can't get it to boot recovery using the volume up, power, and home buttons. It says recovery boot in blue at the top but then restarts and boots normally

bootlooped my phone or something

i was trying to switch from 5.0 lollipop to 4.4.4 ricks rom but i think i went straight there even though i flashed the nk2 kernel because my basebend was still OC4 so i attempted to fix it by flashing the nk2 firmware when safestrap came up i created a rom slot 1 then i wiped everything hit the reboot into download button and reflashed the nk2 firmware again and now my phone is stuck on the screen that says samsung galaxy s5 custom (with the lock right above it) and below that powered by android and when i try to go into download mode it sends me to boot maitnence and i can only pick reboot normally factory reset and reboot in safe mode and none of them help or allow me to get back into download mode and the recovery menu wont come up either (volume up home and power button) any help is greatly appreciated
edit: i am able to get into download mode by goin into the maintence screen and doing the volume up and power button first then press and hold the home button but no matter what i flash it seems to be stuck at the bootloop (if thats what its even called its more of a screen loop lol)

Try starting over. Go here and down to notes #4. Flash the NCG full Odin tar and re-root. Start from scratch.

If you are rooted and flash the firmware from the link he provided, you should boot up to where you can go into safestrap recovery (before your phone boots all the way up). You then flash his ROM in safestrap and you should be good.
Use the stock slot.
i just flashed the regular ncg stock kernal and it didnt do anything it put my on the samsung galaxy s5 custom screen with recovery booting in blue at the top ill try flashing the stock nk2 one and then reflashing the NCG one

You need to flash the NCG full Odin tar, not just the kernel. Then root your phone again.

See my post #2. Flash that full Odin tar. You will be on 4.4.2 with no root. Re-root your phone. (Towelroot, install SuperSU from play store, update the binaries, reboot phone, install busybox and install safestrap. Then you Odin the NK2 firmware from RicksRom post. Before your phone boots all the way up, hit the safestrap recovery button. From there you do a full wipe, then install RicksRom.
