How do I free up more space to create a ROM slot?
I've deleted a ton of apps and in the stock Rom it shows I have plenty of storage space. 6GB.
THANKS

I'm not sure what you are asking. If you have 6GB's why do you need more space? I used Safestrap and installed a deodexed rom on the stock rom slot "after backing up my stock ROM"
When I go to create a ROM slot that's 5800mb it says there isn't enough space, there's only 5197mb available. What do I need to do to for safestrap to have more space for a rom slot.

i responded to the other thread u posted on the same thing.. i agree with sharpies method.. either that or delete some junk off your internal storage lol. my rom is only 618mb fyi and works great on stock slot.. if u install to stock slot ull have no need for a rom slot n ull have all the space youd normally have

Just rooted and then installed safe strap. I'm using eclipse. Its really cool! I partitioned one gig for my ROM slot. My settings tell me I have 2.34 gigs left but I went to download an app of 9.8 mb and it tells me I have insufficient storage. I deleted some useless stuff with titanium and it still says the same thing. I haven't checked the stock rom again to see if it also gives me the error. I will do so tomorrow. Any ideas?

OK just appears that I can only use the mory in the partition space. Which makes this phone crippled as to custom ROMs.
But that seems to be exactly what Motorola was going for.

Appears to decide randomly which partition gets to utilize the free space. Eight now its ROM slot one. Before it was the stock ROM slot. I still have 1.98 GB free.

Do you have a razr m? If you did that would Mae more sense.

Anybody know if custom ROMs like cm10 would help us get back some SD card space (after bootloader unlock)?
9GB is ridiculous.

Of course they would, they don't have any of the Samsung proprietary stuff that takes up all the space

Yes, we just have to wait for the bootloader unlock to be released and the nightlies of CM 10.1 to start.
So SD card repartition would be covered in the ROM install? I wasn't sure if these were separate activities.

I don't believe the SD card is partitioned different, I believe if you hhave root you can access all the samsung stuff in hidden folders and not on a desperate partition
I have the 16gb and was thinking about upgrading to the 32 on the 10th... I know cm10 and other roms will take advantage of the external sd card. But will the other TW based roms give you the freedom to use external as the main storage? I dont see a point in upgrading if they do...

Even with custom roms you still can't move apps to sd card as the limitation is android where Google does not allow it. You will still need to use some kind of app to accomplish moving apps to sd card.

Would apps like GL to SD work on S4?
I have s3 right now and I'm wondering if I can use this app the same way I did on S3.
Lack of memory is a major concern to me as I have lots of large games...

huh? What do you mean by "memory swap"?
I mean to use my external memory as my internal and internal into external

Hope you are rooted. If Yes, you can flash extsd2internalsd mod by mattiadj. It needs a supporting kernel like perseus... You can search and find the mod in xda note 2 forum

Get redpill kernel better than mode , as you can go back simply with simple click

As far I know swap is not successful on 4.3 yet. I am using Folder Mount to transfer app data from internal to ext SD.It works

why you wanna swap in 4.3 ? as i know you can move 2 SD , not like 4.1.2 thats why we go for int/ext swap

it's very useful using int/ext swap. because when i flash with different custom ROM, i just restore all apps from titanium backup, and all apps installed to ext sdcard. in 4.3, i have to run move 2 sd for each one by one apps every time i change to different rom..
Of topic I would like to thank a lot for this amazing development I was going to destroy my phone to the wall if not your app
One quick question, when you have rom slot activated can I delete all from stock room? Obviously I can't delete the stock room byitself but what is safe to remove from it? It eats a lot of storage and with 2n rom I have only 2 gb free on 2 nd one.
And following question am I able to flash what every I want for room slot (for 4.2.2)?

You can delete the stock ROM if you choose and flash the custom ROM over stock because we have the Odin files now to return your phone to stock in case something happens. Questions like this should go in the safestrap thread not make a new thread.

If you can't find the option, it's probably best you leave it alone. Considering the instructions explicitly explain how to delete the stock slot.

So I decided to install safe strap , love it it works amazingly.question I had is I want to basically have to toms on phone one with as much memory as possible as well as stock with a decent amount of storage. So can I achieve that by deleting most apps on stock slot and creating another slot with the memory maxed out,? What's best way to do this? I want baja to be my daily use slot th Most storage but still have stock on the side...

Once you create a rom slot in safe strap you specify how much space each section gets, storage, system.... you have the option of deleting stock but if you dont touch it then it stays the same. You can activate your baja rom slot and it will stay on that even if you reboot or what not, then when you feel like stock you simply load up safestrap and activate the stock slot and youre back to stock

Right.well i made one already can I add more storage to the slot I created or do I have to create another one and do over?
Edit:better yet when I make a slot and set max size there is still a lot of remaining space.so when I'm in let's say slot 1 will I run out of space when I reach the space limit I I set on the slot or will the remains space available be used on that slot that I didn't add when I made the slot

I don't know what the he** that is. Ha
So will that storage(memory) be in a sense wasted?
Or will it be used once the space I made available in slot one is maxed. I'm using slot 1 by the way

only way to do this is install your custom rom in the STOCK rom slot in safestrap. I was told not to do this but it worked for me and allowed me to have access to all the internal memory. As a backup I put a stock rom into one of the other slots, in this reversed order everything worked fine for me.
I have seen people here say not to do that, but it was the only way I could figure out that would not waste my sd card space. I prefer to have apps on my phone and misc. files on my sd card.
