From that Schuster character: - RAZR HD General

"Unfortunately the security issues that have been identified and addressed in 4.4.4 has a ripple effect to our RAZR I, RAZR HD, Atrix HD, etc upgrades on 4.4.2. We are going back and add these patches into these releases and restarting much of the testing and certification work. Sorry for the delay but t is important to correct these vulnerabilities."
So does this mean we're (eventually down the line) getting 4.4.4, or just a few patches?
...right after I finished making my "4.4.2" bootloader image too...

I understand that we're getting 4.4.2 with 4.4.4 security patches.. :/

I guess we'll have to wait till Q4 now...

On the bright side at least I don't have to redo my boot image 8)
From what I understand, 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 were only security patches anyway, so even if the device states 4.4.2 we'll be up-to-date with software until "L" comes out.
...of course, by the time it releases I'll have a rooted and unlocked X+1, lol.

well you better all unlock your bootloader right now, seems it's going to be patched in the end x)

Darn I had some hope they'd let it stay open as the final update for this phone
Tapatalk'n it from my XT907 (MoKee 4.4.4) on Page Plus Cellular.

Where was this information originally posted? I've heard of a soak test recently, but nothing else. I'm really anxious for the update. I don't really care whether it's 4.4.2 or 4.4.4, just so I don't have to reboot my phone three times a day to get bluetooth to stop stuttering, which has been the case since the KitKat upgrade.

2 weeks ago, D. Schuster have said on Google+: " As I have said in a couple threads.... we are working to get RAZR HD & M upgraded to 4.4.2 w/ the recent OpenSSL patches out in Q3 worldwide We are still on track to get this out to you guys. Unfortunately, with these recent changes by the Android team with respect to the security issues uncovered, we have had to respin the software, retest... and re-enter carrier labs. Sorry for the delays...."

Awesome! Thanks for the link! Yeah, i've been unlocked since last summer's exploit.

I really hope this isn't the final version. It definitely improved bluetooth for me, but it still stutters when using the network or other applications (it didn't under 4.1.2), and it still becomes unusuable to the point of requiring a reboot occasionally, although much less frequently.

Erm... This link is for XT926, not XT925. Since XT926 had its official KitKat release maybe 1-2 months ago... this is weird

I just got a survey asking how I felt about the latest soak test. Based on what I've experienced (I'm no longer running it and went back to CM11) and from what I've been reading in the private soak test forums on the Moto website, there are still Bluetooth issues, wifi issues, LTE signals and the popping noise is still present.
I've never gotten survey before after a soak test, so I'm thinking, they realize there are still issues and I wouldn't be surprised if another soak occurs and this latest soak doesn't get pushed out as an OTA (yet).

Any news on this lately?

Hey friend, What firmware is? my phone is dead in fastboot, i upgraded the bootloader to 5.1 and not can make to downgrade to kk. you can post the link of firmware of XT1052, Thanks,
I gave you the solution. If you want everything to work with as few problems as possible, run firmware meant for your model phone. You don't put diesel in a gas car and ask why it isn't working right, so why use the wrong software for your phone?

1060 5.1 wasn't released, and customer has Developer Edition - why not give a try to Retail ROM? Nobody is fond of Verizon bloat.
That's why, btw, they "pull the rubber" with the release - a lot of apps and VZ services not ready for Lolli. It's a hypothesis, of course.

that very clear, that if i want few problems i should use the xt1060 fw but since i live outside of u.s and i cant use the "lte" service in my country
i prefer to install other firmware that i also got support for my language and also get lollipop.
and guess what? sine i change to xt1053 fw everything work awesome , and its look that i can use very well gas and diesel in my car =]

Any ROM can be modified to not update boot loader (simple xml edit), but what's the point of this?
If your speaker is bad, reflash your old modem to 5.1
What's the point of this? If you want to go back to kit kat you will brick your phone on the moto x if the bootloader is updated. The amount of complaints about lollipop is enough to not want to update

Downgrade can be made w/o bootloader rewrite, so no bricking. If you downgrade then update via OTA, it will save you only one time. Second time will be brick. So downgrade wisely. High bootloader version isn't evil by itself )

Sprint finally rolling out Lollipop to Moto X owners

So I noticed this today https://community.sprint.com/baw/message/1017547#1017547
Of course, I had given up on this, and finally unlocked and rooted my phone a week ago. I gather than means I can't take an OTA update. Not sure I want it anyway, I'm happy with the stability of the native ROM. AdAway and tethering were the only things I needed and I've got those now.
Any one get this update yet? I just booted up several sprint moto x that I haven't used in a while and got an update to 4.4.4 that I should have gotten a long time ago, but, no 5.1 (the phones no longer have active service) might that be an issue in getting an OTA? Just wanted to upgrade to lollipop before I sold them...
Anyone seen this yet?
Sprint probably started rolling it out before everyone else, it's just that their network is so slow that no one received the notification until after every other carrier had pushed out the update.
Please tell me someone got the OTA
Anything yet? Anyone? 20 days since "release" and nothing?
I'm hard pressed to believe no one has got the update yet. I swear this starting going out on the 5th of Nov. A poster on Reddit said the release window was until the 7th of Dec daaaannnngggg, I'm still impatiently waiting lol
https://community.sprint.com/baw/message/1017547

I think by now its safe to say, it won't be all rolled out by the 10th. It has to be a problem with the update.

Great news: I just got the notification for the update! Now I just need someone to upload the firmware, so I can do a "clean install" using RSD.
First post! Also got the notification, so I came on here to tell everyone! I checked here earlier today and people were being all pessimistic. I can't believe this is finally happening! Sprint just got almost all their points back. Almost... Better late than never. And at least Motorola and Sprint stuck with it till the bitter end.
It's out today!!!! Saw a couple people on Reddit post pics, so it's finally here
updated and it takes forever to finish but it does Enjoy it folks, we're the last of a dying breed

PB1 Update Rolling Out?

Did anyone get a notification for an update today? The version is "PB1" (LRX21T.G900VVRU2BPB1). It appears to just be a security patch. https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/galaxy-s5-update/ Assuming someone will dump it out, root it, and we'll be able to flash with FlashFire? I've pre-ordered a S7 so I don't know if I'll even try before I ditch this phone.
I'll give it a shot, assuming I can trigger the update.

Some Substratum theme options weren't yet working. A few random force closes. Security Log agent messages from some apps. Lag in the notification shade when playing Spotify (so possibly any media). It's not like Oreo is a big upgrade, so I'm not in a rush to get it.

I just got this phone two days ago and have been away from the forums for over 2 years. Root is available for BQJA if I read correctly. Is that right? I just want root for substratum. Downloaded it from the Play Store and it's offering me to buy an add on for "supported Samsung"

You don't need root for Substratum. The $1.99 add-on does work and is probably required.

Been running this since yesterday. Only issue I've come across is that I can't allow unknown sources. Other than that it's ok so far. Truly nothing groundbreaking about it compared to the latest official update.

You can, but only by using the built in "my files" app.. Also go to settings>apps then tap the dots in the top right and tap special access and look at the bottom of the list. Do you see install unknown apps?
I hope they fix the theming issues, half of the icons get the stupid white border/frame. even when you turn off icon frames its stays. its the biggest reason why I switched back. This Beta is really stale this year. I have it on my s8 to and I'm not really impressed
Deleted, nvm. Lol

Yes, that is the build that this is for....

New update out for devices

New update has dropped. Version P-MR2-RC001-RZR-190914.3123 and brings the phone up to September 5th for security updates.
I have the update pending but I don't want to download just yet to ensure compatibility with Arter97's kernel. If the WiFi is really better then I might jump on regardless because that's my primary issue at this point. Can anyone confirm either the kernel works or the WiFi is noticably better?

Compatibility hasn't been confirmed yet, but previous discussions with someone who had an AT&T version that was on a July update had issues with arter97's kernel on September's update. The kernel seemed to be incompatible as it failed to boot and also switched the phone back to the old slot afterwards.

This seems to be a differential update, as the boot.img is 1/4 of the normal size. I thought, I could patch it with magisk... [emoji53]

It seems to be the case as the images are rather small. I'm not sure what to do now that I'm on Havoc OS GSI. Is there a possible way to patch stuffs other than system (such as vendor)?
I'm yet to make a backup as the current app I use for backup (Migrate) doesn't appear to work properly on this phone (while it worked on my previous one, Xperia XZ Premium), and that Titanium Backup hasn't been updated to be compatible with new features (such as split apks) so some backups can no longer work properly after restoring.
I also need to know if there were any improvements regarding Bluetooth compatibility. Currently I cannot use my bluetooth headset on GSI (only phone calls work), even with a modded overlay (with values changed to undo Razer's crippling of certain features such as aptX).
EDIT: I guess it's not that easy as the payloads are most likely block-based OTAs. These updates do not tolerate any changes on the partitions unlike file-based OTAs that we used to have. We'll have to wait for full factory images to come out and make a list of what we really need to flash from stock updates...
Any issues with the update etc please lmk everyone!
Enjoy it!

Not exactly an issue, but can you tell us, when razer will push the factory-image for this new update? That would make things mich easier...

Wish I knew!
But I can say to them that people are wanting the factory images if no major issues are present I can't see why it wont be up there but that's me.
I tried updating but it gives me an error everytime.
(Using the Deodoxed version)
Can someone help me with this ?
So trying to game plan here. Logic tells me to flash boot, vendor, and system from factory image of current build. Then let the system update itself. Then flash arter kernel, then go into twrp and flash latest magisk zip to get root.
Is this update still Android 9 or is this taking us to android 10?

And this .zip file you linked.... Can we flash this in TWRP or is this the standard OTA that needs stock recovery?

This is the standard OTA that needs stock recovery & the update is still Android Pie/9
Also, for anyone that's curious, it doesn't seem to fix any of the speaker phone/call quality issues currently present in Android Pie/9 (but weren't present in Oreo). I can't speak to Wi-fi performance improvements, or other fixes mentioned in the update notice, but I am very thankful that Razer has released this OTA with security patches through September of 2019 ? ?. Thank you Razer!
Wifi
The WiFi is fixed for wifi calling I believe if you put this phone into airplane mode and trying wifi calls it would glitch the wifi out before now seems to work
I think I'll wait to install it until someone else who is more educated in this tests it and makes a guide for it to put stock back on and whatever we need to do to make Arter 97 kernel work with it.
Any fixes to the camera apk?

i reflashed the stock firmware and ran the update to get the latest security update. I also have arter97 r11 kernel installed and magisk and have it rooted with no problems. Google Pay works as well as I was able to get it to pass the CTC scan.
