Contact specific notification tones - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have today received my s5 (previously had a note 2) and so far all seems great, apart from one issue. On my note 2, I was able to set contact specific call tones and notification tones, but on the s5, I can only find the option for contact specific ringtones. Am I missing something, or is there a way of adding this feature back?
Thanks in advance.

Ringtone Storage/System Events

If this is documented somewhere I can't find it in the WIKI or using the search tool. There's a few differences between WM5 on my Treo 700wx and my 8525. The first I've noticed is that there are fewer system events for which ringtones can be assigned. For example, on my Treo I could assign a different ringtone for a known caller (in contact list) and an unknown caller. On the 8525 all incoming calls are treated the same. Is this something I just need to live with? Also I've loaded several ringtones to my 8525 and they all appear for selection when assigning one to a specific contact or when defining default tones for phone functions. However, they don't appear in the list available for selection for other events, i.e. - I'd like to assign one of my downloaded ringtones to play when a new text or mms message arrives. They're all stored in the same place as they were on my Treo. Again, is this just a limitation I need to live with? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Individual text msg sounds

Hey guys,
Does anyone know of a way I can set individual text message sounds for people?
It's right there for ringtones but I haven't seen anything for txt msgs.

3rd party app only.
Thanks Angel - Any idea if somebody has something floating around out there?
I searched the forums for a while but didn't find anything specific...
I must agree - I point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know of an app that will do this? I'll add that having a different sound for email notifications based on sender would be fantastic too, but I know that could be a coding nightmare.

Thanks Angel!
I've previously used Photo Contacts Pro to do individual text tones on this phone and my previous WM phones. For me it worked, but wasn't as stable as I liked. It eventually eated a lot of memory and crashed then restarted.

[Q] Ring Tones

Has anyone figured out a way to assign ringtones to contacts other than using the ones that are installed on the phone?
I have transferred a bunch of tones from my Tilt 2, but am unable to have them recognized when personalizing contacts.
I don't believe Windows Phone 7 supports custom ring tones at this time. I heard you might be able to buy ringtones through the market place. Do a Google search, there is more information about it.

Unique notification sounds gone?

I used to have unique sounds set up for message/text received notifications in my address book by user.
Since the update, I no longer have that option. Contacts that had unique sounds set up prior to the update still do. However, any new contact I put in only has the default sound for text/message. I can do a unique ringtone, but not a unique notification sound.
I have looked everywhere I can think of to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How to set separate text notification sounds for different contacts?

Hi,
Can someone please tell me how to set up custom text sounds for different contacts when they text me? I can't figure it out with this phone.
I can set different ringtones for when they call me, but there is no other field to set up different text notification tones, which is what I need to do. Thanks!
Where? General contacts or in a specific app...?

on my old phone, I had a separate text sound (and separate ringtones when they would call) for my husband, daughter, son, etc... that's what I'm trying to do, and I think I may almost have it figured out!
This thread is a few days old, but I slightly struggled figuring this out when I originally shot my Galaxy S3 from 4.3 to 6.0.1.
1. Open a message from who's tone you want to change.
2. Click the three dots in the top right corner of the messenger window
3. Select "People & Options"
4. Select "Sound" and choose the notification sound for that contact

I can change notification sounds for different contacts but would like to have different sounds for different apps. So I can tell the difference between an SMS and a Tweet for example. Can anyone help me with this? It seems to use default notification sound for everything.
