Totally new to this safestrap thing but not new to flashing roms and such.
Since safestrap rom slots seem to eat up internal space, I am thinking about using it only for making a nandroid of stock to my external card.
If I ever mess up my stock setup I'm assuming I can use safestrap to restore back to stock from my ext sd. Is this correct?
Thanks in advance.

I never OTA'd to MF3. Instead I installed the Unadultered MF3 ROM that somebody put out awhile ago and retained root/recovery.
Does this mean I'm still on MDL essentially?
Would it benefit me to use Safestrap to side load different ROM's instead of flashing back and forth?

It says you're on MDL. If you want to change roms faster ss will help.

Yes it should still be MDL.
Do you still have a custom recovery? If yes, you are still on MDL.
With MF3 OTA it included the locked bootloader. This is what you don't want (and if you still have a custom recovery you don't have it, which is good).
Awesome. Thanks, guys!

Safestrap is nice for us that took the OTA update for whatever reason we did so . However when you use rom slots it absorbs your internal memory according to the size partition you create per slot . We all know how much it bugs us already to only have say 8 or 9 gigs available as is . than again it's kinda like duel boot.i can't wait till this bootloader gets hacked to h?ll.

Does anyone know why it is saying I don't have 32GB? I have a MF3 S4 and I rooted it and put safestrap on it. Then flashed a ROM.

Because you only created a certain gig for your custom ROM and it'll only show how many gigs you created. Go back to your stock ROM and it'll show

Is that 100% stock tar for Odin Samsung update is down.

That will definitely delete all of your data I just odind back to stock yesterday and it's a good thing I backed up my internal storage or else I would have lost everything. How come you're going back to stock if you want a very stable rom I would recommend @sac23 sacs custom ROM v8 I am currently using it and I have not found any bugs I also have amazing battery life

I might have been using a modified tar to not wipe. I'm sorry its been a while since I used one so I'm not 100% sure.

No offense to any dev that may see this, but just can't find a rom the catches my eye. Only one MIUI, but there's no support for it anymore.

I'm new to the S5 I already rooted my phone but I would like to flash custom roms. I been reading how to use SS what I don't get is can I flash on stock slot or I have to create one? I know on the guide says we are suppose to create a slot but some guys here on the forum say we can flash on the stock one.

Why would it be "disabled"? I've been flashing custom Roms to my stock slot on my N3 AND S5 without any issues... even as recent as about 45 mins ago.
To the OP... A lot of people make a nandroid backup of their system and store it on their external SD card and PC and then flash whatever ROM they want in the stock slot. I prefer it that way so that I always have a correct reading on my storage space. Sure, every now and then I flash something that isn't for me or is very buggy but I just re-flash my backup and I'm good to go. Besides, having the ability to flash the stock firmware via Odin makes it a lot less scary as you can always go back to stock firmware if all else fails.

I am considering to root and flash custom rom, I am just thinking if I will lose some pre installed apps like Samsung's Action Memo and S Note. Those two apps are my favorite and I don't want to lose them.
What are other important things should I know before rooting or flashing custom roms. How about my files and datas saved in phone's memory?
Please help. I would really appreciate your response l. Thank you in advance.
