Hey guys,
I'm looking for the default_gain.conf file on my Samsung S4.
I have Root Explorer and I seen everywhere online where the file is in system/etc but I don't have it there. Mine isn't there.
I wish to make the headphone volume on my Galaxy S4 louder but can't find the file to update it.
My phone isn't rooted but I haven't seen anywhere that it has to be rooted before you can find/access the file.
Any help at all?

Try es file explorer because i can see default_gain.conf in my system/etc and mine is also not rooted.
But u will need root to change the config i think..

Hey. Thanks for your help. I tried that as well and it still didn't show up. Is there any other way of finding it or anything.

Is Your S4 9500 model or 9505?.....
This mod is only for I9500. expected 4.4 didn't change the file name or location.
AND no way to modify the values without rooting first.
(That's why I stay with 4.3 and Perseus' Synapse to set my loudspeaker output= )

i cant find it no matter how hard i look. i need the stock samsung blue keyboard that comes on stock dk28 2.2
the rom im using doesnt have it included and the stock android keyboard looks bad....even the name of the apk will help so i can find it myself but a link would be best.. thanks!

I'm confused...are you looking for the swype keyboard?
no im looking for the samsung keyboard apk.... theres 3 that come with the phone
swipe keyboard
stock 2.2 keyboard
samsung keyboard
im looking the the samsung keybored because this rom doesnt have that keyboard. thanks

Drop it into the system/app directory and edit the permissions of the apk to match the permissions of the other apk's in that directory. Then reboot.

Stock Samsung Keyboard update.zip
Flash this in Clockwork if you don't have Root Explorer.

Hi Community,
I found a little solution for the apparently problem, that the Galaxy S is not saving setting of apps.
First of all, you should have a rooted phone and a file explorer with root access!
Then go to "/dbdata/databases/" and delete the folder from the app which makes you problems. They are sometimes hard to find, but it is worth to find and delete it.

Just get astro from market. It's better than aosp file manager. Sammy file manager does not work on aosp roms.
No, only Root Explorer will do every job you want; sure is the best because of the root access and possibility to copy/paste files wherever you want. No more need for any other explorer.
Root exploer is the best for me too.
super manager from the market is ok too!

Cyanogen mod should require people to pass somekind of essay before they are allowed to flash it...

Download any deodexed stock rom. Remove apk's. copy to phone install.
Try changing the manifesto to make it work or resigning the apk.
Or just use better ones from the market.

Hi, gmrender-resurrect is a little software able to play music sent over UPnP, it's working great with bubble UPnP and other stock galaxy player (tested with s3 and s4 mini and tab3 10.1) but it's not working with the note 3 stock music player
The dev is asking me if it's possible to have the apk to find out why it's not working (the dev doesn't have a galaxy note 3)

Go into system and /priv-apps or whatever it is titled and grab it from there and also from /system

I get MusicPlayerWT.apk from /system/app, but unable to install it to another device (my note is on stock 4.3 without root)
You'll need root or someone with root to grab the app for you.. I would but I'm on CM so don't have it I'm afraid.

NB3 should be good, but unfortunately I'm not able to install the apk on an other device.
It's written: application not installed.
I got the same error do we need the odex files aswell
You cannot install stock apps, move them to system/app
(If you arent rooted ure fcked)

Im still having a hard time getting it to work... I downloaded worms attachment moved it to my sys/apps folder and rebooted and tried to open it and it said music player stopped

I am on 4.3 MJ7 so this should be the right one for you.

I wasnt able to get it to work pasted both files into sys/app with correct permissions no dice im on mj5 if that helps
i want to install the s5 mms file so i deleted my SecMms.apk in my System\priv-app..
There's some error in the s5 mms so i have decided to use my default mms..
how will i do that?

In case you don't know here's in detail. first, download es file explorer from play store. anywhere. then download secmms.apk from link below.. delete your s5 sms app from where you have place in system partition.afterwards, place the file downloaded in system/priv-app/. rename it in case it is wrong. :cyclops: then change permissions to rw-r-r.(owner-read-write)<group and other-read>.. Try again the s5 sms app in the same way. it is pretty good and working well on mine.. HIT THANKS FOR THE INFO IT IT WORKED!!
