HI there, guys!
In your precious opinions, what's the best AOSP ROMs available for Note 3?
I'm really tired of TouchWiz (once again, just like on Note 1 and Note 2...), but I'm noticing that it's taking so much time to see a really stable AOSP ROM. I'm afraid of messing things here with all these KitKat issues stuff also, so I really would appreciate so much your opinions!
Thanks!

to be frank.. same like u.
I m really tired with such questions.
If u want aosp, try to read, and understand. choose what u like. try.
Dev has spend so much time to build. for user to read, it will take much lesser time to do.
if u scared to mess , don't move to aosp. stick with what u have is the best.
this type of Q is prohibited at xda. and has been asked so many times.

I'm really sorry if I bothered you so much. The fact is that, actually, I am reading A LOT the whole day. In fact, I'm reading a lot of threads related to stock and AOSP ROMs since yesterday, just because I am for the third day in a row trying to solve a bootloop on my device running Omega ROM.
As I said, I just made that question because I'm noticing that the stability related to AOSP ROMs (and even stock ones) are longing to be really safe, differently from the period after Note 1 and Note 2 releases.
Again, I'm really sorry if my post bothered you so and so much. The fact is that my point of view when trying to get users opinions was due to a concrete point of view. It wasn't a pure free stupid question.
Best cheers.
Edit: It's not difficult to see very well accepted threads about this kind of subject in other devices forums after a simple search. And just to be clear. I'm not seeking for a verdict. In instead of that, I just would like to hear about suggestions. That was my goal.
And I sincerely confess that I would never expect this kind of rude and arbitrary post from a Recognized Contributor that has 1065 thanks here in XDA, since this is a community where people share knowledge and look for help and suggestions.

After watching some YouTube reviews and reading about it on both threads I really think this is, in fact, a great option. Glad to here it's pretty stable for you in your daily use! I was thinking about testing CM11 official builds, but temasek's ROMs has a lot of (great and welcome) features! For example, Holo!

Oh! I couldn't forget Carbon! I used it so much on Galaxy Note II! Thanks for the tip! I'm going to read it's thread to check about what people are saying about it's experience on Galaxy Note 3!
Will check C-ROM also! This one is new for me! Thanks!

Yeah, that's the point. The customization is great. And, even, they have a more clean and beautiful layout than the ugly Samsung TouchWiz interface.
Did you try temasek's ROM? If not yet, try it! It seems pretty stable! I will give a try to this one on the next days!
Im on C-rom and i like it because of art and its stable. Just remember, every user different opinions.

Hello!
Currently I am using JM9+ Raspdeep OC/UV kernel with Voodoo b4 support and I believe this is the max option for Eclair.
Would you be kind to suggest me the best possible option for step ahead to Froyo? Which ROM, Custom Rom and Kernel are best in work together?
Which LagFix, and Kernel are best for Froyo?
JPO+SO_zImage_opt_ext_root_JPM-JP6_V3_6??maybe
pointless
IMHO, useless thread ... every Rom as its advantages and disadvantages. It's really up to personal taste to choose the best one.
Sorry the comment, I know its a open forum and people have the right to express them selfs yada yada yada... but can't help stop noticing the amount of garbage hanging around this forum, making it difficult to find useful stuff .
And - off record, but on topic anyway - people, learn how to search pleeaaasseee... It's really annoying read threads with 1001 questions about the same subject, which results on 2002 posts if someone cares to help. You are only making it more hard to find yourself the answers!!
I agree with lunasea... Pure personal taste... Some ROMs have the GPS issues partially fixed, others are more stable, others have stuff which we don't use or need. Depends from person to person...
As far as lag fixes are concerned, that too depends on user. Almost all lag-fixes are amazing and the xda-devs have done a brilliant job in all of them, so it is really unfair to say even one of them is bad... they are all good. It depends on perception and the feel of the phone in your hands. Enjoy ur phone!!!
your mum is the best custom rom i mean have a go at DOC'S ROM.
Just IMHO,
If you want barebones + modular get Doc's v7.5 ROM.

Not trying to be rude, as I stated theres no such thing as best rom. As overwhelming it might seem, there's no other option than try it yourself.
Nevertheless I can give you this hint: most active threads usually means more users, meaning more testing and more stable and support from rom cooker [EDIT... lmao].
So start trying roms that are on 1st and 2nd page of the forum.

Different people like different features. So more variety gives a better chance to please different people. Not everyone just wants one rom that's really fast or good for gaming or good for battery life etc....I also don't think you can have everything in one rom. Some people like the gingerbread launcher, some like touch wiz, some like miui. Can't have all three in one.
Kitchen brewers...Theres really only a few real devs actually creating new roms, for the most part its the good devs work redone by what i like to call kitchen brewers....mixing and matching themes, apk's,framework, ect. from true developers hard work and then calling it thiers....

Theres 4 groups i know of.
1) Team Whiskey they've been quiet for a few months
2) EDT, their roms are great, and they just got organized instead of a new rom every week.
3) The galaxy something, never used their Roms, but it seems like BS to me.
4) Ports from I9000 or some other device.
Mostly, its the new ports...
and yes, its the competition between the 3 groups, they all want to be obviously the best group on Vibrant section, DUH
So they all make much roms as possible and try to beat someone else.
I haven't seen anything unique in our Dev section in a few months, to me it looks like a bunch of themes, but the Devs like, TW and EDT they do their work that they do for free! I love their roms!
They would NEVER work on the same rom, i can think of 1 reason why:
WHY would they? They all have different ways of making roms, combining them would be a good user-end rom but, they just wouldn't do it.
JUST 1 rom is bad as well.
Option, we all need it.
I believe it was... TW who set EDT straight by saying "quality over quantity" because they used to release a whole ****load of roms every week, and now EDT is my FAV. I love all their roms, Trigger (my opinion best) then Bi-Winning, haven't tried rest.
Team Whiskey is the best dev team for the Vibrant! Hands down.
EDT is catching up.

I vote team whiskey! No one has come close to their bionix-v, visually and preformance wise.
I find Trigger is a close second though, followed by Galaxy Extreme. Still waiting for a nice GB rom to come out (hint to EDT & Team Whiskey).
Does it really bother you that we have a lot of roms on the development section? Just asking.

The only thing that I really need right now is a fully working CM7 minus the GPS of course. The only things as of now that are bothering me are the battery drain and low amounts of ram.
You'll see 20 more when we get a modified JVB kernel.
Our dev section is already starting to become polluted with all these i9000 ports. Nothing against them but I really am starting to think that most of our "devs" are themers and porters at heart. Again, nothing bad about the ports, but I miss the Bionix Fusion and early froyo leak days where most of everything was made just for the Vibrant. Good old times.

why is that???
because you can basically read what each rom is about, you can flash and try, Only you can decide if a rom is good or not.
I've tried a lot of high rated roms and i've hated it. Same goes with kernels. Don't make about thread asking which is the best. Best for what? Performance or battery life? How much will you use the phone etc.
It's really a flash and try. There is no good or bad.

we r not asking for the best, we just wanna know the differences,, thats it.....differences in features and look...thnx
I understand the whole flash and try thing, and if I could I probably would at least try a few But yeah this isn't a "which rom is best" but rather a "what makes this ROM unique"
It's just a simple request if anyone has the time/interest in doing so, I don't want to go onto the ROM pages asking people there what it's all about
I'd like one too! Back when I had my one s I'd always went straight for cyanogen just for pure android..now that it already comes with the phone I'm just wondering if I'm missing anything if I'm not rooting and installing a new rom..
Most ROM threads have a features section or a changelog section detailing what is different or modified. Also, there is a thread that compiles a link to all the available ROMs by category (whether they are CM based or AOSP based, etc).
I recommend going to that thread and then navigating to your ROM of interest to read its description. I highly doubt anyone is willingly to compiles a comparison thread for you because ROMs are constantly changing. If you look at some of the threads, they have no updates and releases every day. By the time someone posts the comparison thread, it will probably be already outdated.
In short, your best option is to read to narrow your choices, then actually try out the options you have on hand.

heres a direct answer for your question.. the most popular roms for the nexus 4 are stock and aosp.
but i suggest that you try out a bunch of different roms, find what you and your device likes, and what fills YOUR needs. after you find yourself the perfect rom, youll want to repeat the process. but this time youll want to find the perfect kernel for your device, the kernel that you and your device likes the best.

how hard is it to open the forum and look at the numbers. you see right away which are frequented and which are not. thats why xda shows em, no? :highfive:
My favorite personally, would have to be Paranoid Android. I've been using it ever since I got my Nexus rooted, and plan on still using PA in the future. Although it doesn't offer as much customization as other ROM's, i don't mind it at all. One of my favorite features about this ROM is pie. It's an alternative to the Nav bar and is way better IMO. In the end, it's user preference. Some don't like PA, and would rather use other ROM's like CM10, or Xylon, but it's all on personal taste. Just try them all out until you find your favorite.

Hi Guys,
By asking the question I in no way mean to be disrespectful toward the developers. On the contrary am in awe and in great admiration of them. And when possible have even contributed to "buying them a few beers" .
I merely ask the question coz I would want to install a stable and good performing ROM in the my phone. I could ofcourse download each one and test them out but isn't it the very point of having a forum such as this to help fellow ROM users choose the best and get the best out of their phone.
As regards comparisons I think the developers should not be too sensitive as comparisons are a review of their work and if they have put out ROMs in a public forum for the use of the public then feedback and review should be welcomed. Nothing wrong in pointing out if a certain ROM functions better than another in certain aspects. I have seen many posts that say that a certain kernel provides better performance or battery life compared to another and I dont ever see any criticisms of such comparisons but when it comes to asking or giving the same kind of comments bout a ROM we see people get really touchy on the subject. I dont think saying a particular ROM functions better than another is in anyway being disrespectful or be-belittling the work done by them.
There are 3 roms out there of 4.3 leak MI6,MJ2,MJ5..
I tried 2 of them MI6 and MJ2
MI6 has 2 main bugs i.e keyboard swype doesn't work and google acc dissappearing bug after every boot but MI6 has best battery I had after 4.1.1 roms.
MJ2 is newer and has some bug fixes mentioned above but its battery life for me is less than MI6.
so my vote goes to MI6 though now I am on dr.ketan v3 rom which is mix of all these 3 roms and thinking to switch to MJ5 to test it...
and one more thing MJ2 and MJ5 have knox bootloader so better first read every instruction before doing anything...
This MJ5 is stable and free of Knox
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494460
I've played about with a couple of roms now and must say I'm very very impressed with the dirty unicorns unofficial 4.3.1 for the note 2 LTE, very fast, stable, and great battery life.
