Hi all,
So today my friend asked me to check out his Galaxy S3 because all of a sudden his phone went off and went into a boot loop with just the samsung galaxy s3 start screen appearing then dissapearing. His recovery menu didn't show up but download mode did so I went into ODIN and tried everything (different pc's, usb's, disabling KIES) and kept getting some PIT file error (I had re partition unchecked, i think the error was 'Can't read PIT'). So I gave him it back and asked him to try taking it to Samsung as he has official firmware and stuff.
After I gave him his phone and came home, I had some music playing on my phone and all of a sudden... BAM! I was stuck in a bootloop with the same problem! No idea whatsoever as to why.
Yesterday I flashed CM11 on my Galaxy S4, everything was perfectly fine and today it's stuck in a loop on the Galaxy S4 boot screen (Not samsung logo). I can access recovery and download and have wiped data, cache and dalvik cache and still no luck.
Before CM11 I was on stock samsung 4.4 with knox flag as 0x1
Any help is much appreciated!
Thank You
Hi,
As you can still boot in recovery the best would wipe system and reflash the ROM, also wipe data again just to be sure . Also I will recommend you to flash a CyanogenMod Snapshot rom, as they are usually more stable than nightlies, and the latter can bootloop your device.
Do not worry, usually bootloops are not a main issue .

INFO: I rooted my device last night and installed TWRP using GooManger. I tried tested two different Roms. The first one was Google Edition 4.2.2 - v1.3 & the second was GoldenEye. Both Roms Seem to function properly. My Device is SGH-1337M ROGERS
PROBLEM: When i reset my device, even after a clean install, my device gets stuck during boot. I've tried going into recovery and restoring backups from this point and they all fail. The only possible way to get out of this boot freeze is to Wipe entire internal storage. At that point, the phone will reboot. This does not appear to be a boot loop as It just shows "Samsung Galaxy S4" and won't budge (seems frozen). I have no idea what the issue is but i suspect it may have something to do with the kernels provided with the Roms? Any help would be much appreciated!

Which ROMs are you installing? On I337M your best bet is T-Mobile ROMs and Kernels. I have Bell I337M and have no issues.

Are you wiping with TWRP? I heard there are issues with using it to wipe and restore or loading a new rom after wipe. Just restore using Odin and then load a new rom (or restore a backup) without wiping. See if that solves your problem of bootlooping

i just went through this all last night what a pita , problem is twrp , if you do a full wipe when you type the word yes , you can only bootup 1 time then it gets stuck next time you boot , theres no way to fix it , even going back to old version of twrp wont do it , you have to compleatlly remove root and return to stock , re root and install twrp again , then if your luck your nandropid backup will work , it took me 5 hrs to fuger this all out , stupid twrp drove me nuts .,...
in short , return to stock and reroot , then never do a full wipe where you have to type yes

i had the same problem, im with rogers so i downloaded the rogers rom 4.2 and i cant make any phone calls or listen to music or watch videos. my phone came with 4.3 does anyone have any ideas to help me?
Hey XDA, just a long time stalker who has finally given up trying to find his solution on already posted items (I think 10 hours of trail and error means I'm not gonna catch what I'm failing to see...)
When I first got my galaxy s4 I downloaded KangaBean and it was on 4.2.2 I believe. Today I decided I should upgrade to 4.4.2 since I've only been hearing good things about it, and I wanted the slight updates that came with it.
Well, I have a AT&T s4, sgh-i337 that was on CWM 6 when I tried updating to another ROM, the first one I tried was GOOGLE EDITION 4.4.2 BY DANVDH. Did a wipe, cache, dalvik, format system, flashed it, flashed loki doki, said no to re-root/root fix prompt that followed, then I came to the yellow triangle, I thought that was odd, believed I missed something.
So, I downloaded TWRP 2.5.0.2 like the thread suggested, tried again, no luck. Then I tried Unoffical Carbon KitKat, which just caused the "Samsung Custom" logo to stay on indefinitely (I let it sit for 40 minutes before giving up.) After 2 failed ROMs, I tried KangaKat, updated version of KangaBean, so it should be just dandy right? Narp, same luck. This one boots, then reboots into recovery.
At this point I considered myself to be stupid in some way so obvious that I would die before I noticed it. So, then I just flashed the stock firmware thats like 2.5 gb through odin, re-rooted and installed CWM 6.0.4.4 LOKI'd and tried to flash KangaKat, being confident it would work this time, again I got boot to the logo and then reboot into recovery.
At this point I attempted the other 2 ROMs again, multiple times.
After some sobbing, I re-did the stock firmware, tried again, failed again.
My sadness turned into rage, I just destroyed one of my micro sd to usb-s because it was being annoying and I was annoyed, I took a picture and got over it.
I tried a 3rd time with the re-flashing stock firmware and tried with twrp again, no cigar.
Now, after MANY hours and MANY false hopes... I shall be using my blackberry and hoping to return to android soon, if somebody can help me figure out what I'm missing. Many thanks ahead!
Did you do lokidoki after?

Did you doa hard reboot clear the cache and davlik after it got stuck on the lock screen ? It seems odd that it would just not boot up at all. I was about to wonder if maybe it was the CM kernel bug that will keep it from booting past the initial screen but you tried aGE rom so...
Hey guys. I tried to find similar topic but I couldn't.
I'm facing a problem with my Galaxy S4 i9500. Around a mouth ago I flushed kitkat with odin. After that I rooted it. The phone was working properly until couple of days ago. It start freezing and restarting. 2 days ago couldn't start at all. Stuck on SAMSUNG logo. I tried to flash kitkat again , but it failed. I was able to flash CWM recovery 6.0.3.3-i9500 and clean the cache, delvik cache and tried to restore the manufacturer settings. After rebooting, I see Samsung logo. phone restart and stuck on the Samsung logo again.
Hopefully someone can help me out.
Thank you.
Doesn't sound like a software problem. I think you have some hardware failure. I don't think it's your power button though, otherwise you wouldn't be able to stay in download mode for more then a few sec.
That doesn't sound good. What hardware problem might be? The phone has never been dropped and always been in a case.

Did you remove all knox related apps when you rooted?
I recommend..flash stock rom.
After that..flash philz and deknox script..
Then reroot via philz itself..(philz options reroot)

I'm, sure some of the members here have heard it a hundred times before but I'm struggling to find a solution for it, any help would be appreciated, thanks.
For all intents and purposes, assume I am your grandmother, that's how much of a noob I am at this stuff. That being said I have flashed once or twice before, last time I softbricked it as well and found a solution on here. I was running SlimKat but tried to flash Aryamod using the instructions here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-aryamod-v1-tw-lollipop-t2990920 ) The instructions said to wipe the internal card and this is where I messed up, I wiped SDCard1 (Which I now realise is the external sd card?) and in doing so clockworkmod crashed, and it just said something along the lines of "failed" over and over. I was forced to remove the battery and reboot. Now it won't boot past the Samsung GN3 logo (but also shows "KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING; set warranty bit : kernel") I've tried using odin to install the rom I tried last time I softbricked it but to no avail. I'm downloading the official rom from Samsung but it's taking hours so in the meantime just thought I'd pose the question here. It goes into both Download and Recovery Mode but I haven't been able to load a new rom using Odin, Odin passes but it stays in the bootloop. I've tried clearing caches/partitions in Recovery Mode.
I'm sure it's just a noob issue and hopefully an easy fix so I apologise for wasting anyone's time, thanks again.
Put back the arya rom zip into sdcard and flash the rom.

In Odin, uncheck everything except f.reset time. Connect the phone and flash a stock rom. When you see the word reset in the status window, remove USB cable from phone, remove battery, wait 5 seconds, replace battery, boot into recovery, wipe data and cache, reboot.
Hello everyonhi everyone,
i had no idea the Gaslaxy 4 could hava such a active group afther all this years.
any way my wife SM-T230 deside to reboot last week and never got pass the samsung animation.
its still on the last(maybe not) official room, no root, no adblock nothing, i try to use the system recovery (wipe data/factory reset), and for the first time the tablet at least made the music on the boot but still wont go pass the samsung animation.
should i try to install another rom or maybe the official one again? or did he die of old age?
thx in advance.
You could try to download Odin with it you can flash official samsung firmwares. If it's some weird memory corruption that should fix it (maybe).
