This problem has been bugging me for a while and i wondered if anybody could help me.
A little while ago i rooted my x8 2.1 and installed xrecovery. I backed up everything with xrecovery. A problem later arose with my phone so i did an advanced restore of a the data on my phone with xrecovery and now when downloading anything from the market, i get a download unsuccessful error.
Ive tried clearing the cache or various apps, (market, google aps, browser etc.)
Nothing works, i would like to avoid a factory restore if i can.
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks
From my point of view , it has norhing to do with the restore and the other...
Check some other thinks...
-Try downloading from an other network to be sure that its your phone's problem.
-Check your phone and sd card free space...(no space to download)
-Check if you have the latest version of the market.
Thanks, ill check those later and get back to you, but im sure it cant be the network because it happens when im connected to wifi aswell
if ur problem is.. market just "starting downloading " so.. do this..
dont know wats wrong,, but i try to reinstall the market,,
download it from here use root explorer to delete the original, and replace with this,, try restating your phone after done... and try again..
its work on me..
Thanks, if that doesnt work il get back to you
It didnt work!
when ever i click an app to download, it waits for about 20 seconds then on the notification bar it pops up with Download unsuccessful
Hi everyone,
I have this problem after I flash 2.3 HKTW.
I cannot download anything from Market through my 3G network.
once I click the download (or update) button, there is a notification appear says connect to WIFI to start the download. After I connect to Wifi, all download start immediately.
the download from website derectly on mobile browser is all good.
Does anyone have any idea how to bypass this? I dont think it is a market problem. It is a setting.
i have the same problem, i also am unable to find any resolution.

Wow, I thought it might be the network problem from Rogers Canada,
you are in ATT, so it might be the ROM problem.
PS. you device upgrade route is the same as mine, AT&T 8525 > iPhone 3G > Motorola Atrix, beside I dont use samsung.
I am having no problems downloading from market over 3G. I would reflash the ROM.
Tried to reflash, it fails. I cannot even get back to 1.5.7,it fails to.
So I did a wipe/factory reset, Did a wipe of Dalvik Cache. Had to add AT&T APN the one there was not working, works fine now. I was even able to reset up motoblur with my existing account but still no Market downloads without wifi..
Now I am getting fustrated!
Hopefully someone has an idea. Everything works, no issues with messaging, email, internet. Just the market and I tried to download from the web market, got the same result.

Do you mean the market on 1.5.7 also fail? or you cannot flash back to 1.5.7?
FIXED IT!!!!
You will have to do a factory reset. When the phone reboots and you reset up motoblur at the end it brings up Data Saver. DO NOT CHECK IT! leave it off. The explanation for Market says "Automaticlly queues downloads until you are connected to a Wi-Fi network"
One other thing, I had to reset my APN manually after the restore.
But it works now

This is my first time making a thread and, yes, I've searched around for solutions to no avail. Anyway, I can update apps and download video files but other types of files get a bit past 600 kbs before I get "descarga incorrecta" (incorrect download). I've tried different browsers and download managers but nothing. I get this problem in my computer as well when I'm tethering. I can download stuff if I'm connected to Wifi but most of the time the wifi connection will disconnect and reconnect again in a loop, don't know what that's about. BTW, I'm running CNA 3.5.0 with Matr1x 23.0. Any help is appreciated :fingers-crossed:
tried wiping rom manager already? if not go to settings then apps then all aps search for download manager click it and wipe data

I've tried wiping the rom manager. Will wipe download manager data and get back to you tomorrow 'cause it's almost 1 am here in Spain and I'm on duty tomorrow :'(
Wiping download manager data didn't work. The 3.6.0 CNA update link won't download. I get a continuous countdown.
Just to follow up on this, I was finally able to download files with ADM or with DAP on my laptop when tethering.
Hello,
I have a Huawei p1 with axis, it was fine until a week ago,
now it shows "timeout" whenever I browse the internet or open google play store, but whatsapp still works
but the weird thing is, if I use my phone as wifi hotspot, the notebook connected to it has normal connection (for browsing etc)
I already tried:
- switch to another provider, and it works!
- switch sim card, but the same provider, still timeout
- use my simcard with other phone, it works!
- reset factory, still timeout for browsing, whatsapp still works
please help

Is this device rooted with a custom recovery? If so, wipe both the caches.

Go into the factory recovery and clear cache, and after bootup, long press Play Store and drag it up to 'App Info', clear Cache and Data, and try again.

did u mean to reset factory once more or just clear the cache?
because I already reset factory my device three times since yesterday, and still no result
I even formated my sdcard
I have cleared playstore cache, and run it, but the loading animation never complete, then shows "connection timeout"
tried whatsapp-ing my friend, still works
could it because hardware error?

I believe you need to call your provider and have your data reset...

Hi There,
Ok, dont panic.
I've had the same problem and looked after a solution in every android thread. some tells you to clear play store cach etc...
I've tryed everything including rooting my device, factory reset etc....
The only solution that worked fr me is changing my wifi router. Did you try to download from the play store using a differente Wifi (router) ?

Sorry to ask you silly questions but : is the new router you used the same as the first one ?
The reason I ask this is that changing the router automatically solved the problem for me. I've read in another forum (I could not remember the link) that this issue has to do with the router configuration.
I'm personally not very skilled in networks etc.. but at least it has worked for me.
Let me know if you try another router if it works.
