Samsung s5 omega rom with rom toolbox pro - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Basically I'm very new to rom and rooting. I've just rooted my device and put on omega rom. All good but now I don't know what to do.
What I'm mostly interested in is playing around with rom toolbox pro - cpu control and kernel tweaks. Just looking for your personal choice on what you've adjusted and what works best for you.
I don't want to push my phone and I care about battery life as I'm a heavy phone user so looking for the perfect balance between performance and battery. I assume this is the best app for it? Just really need your recommended settings and specific changes please.

Good Rom?

Hello, i want you to tell me which Rom for my Nexus7 are the best.
I really like to hear your Opinion, because i am on CM10, and the Battery Drain is to much.
Btw, can i save my Apps +Save for my Next rom?
EDIT: is there a rom that Supports Circle Mod Batterie AND(!) Tablet UI?
I think your best bet is to try each and experience it yourself. What's good or the best for others might not be for you
i tried them all and honestly i went back to the stock rom. i use the SPB shell 3d and just love how it makes the N7 just pop.
under the settings tab of the SPB shell 3d there is a landscape mode. no need to adjust any settings in the system folders just select the landscape option and your done.
cheers
Uhh, looks nice.
Whats with batterie life?

With a kernel as powerful as the clemsyn battery savings really isn't the goal on my device. But honestly it really isn't that bad. Best to use a aap like setcpu or system tuner pro so you can set a lower CPU speed like 1.3 when on battery. at home I have it at 1.8 when the device is unlocked. Best thing about the setcpu profiles is that my n7 always boots at 1.3 but when you unlock it the nitro kicks in. Heat isn't a issue with interactive and cfq. n7 needs 1.8 it's there and when it doesn't it cycles down. Also if I was traveling I would flash a milder kernel for battery savings.
Spb shell 3d is pretty sick but expensive like 15 or something in play but worth it. Thx I like my n7 very much
I tried several including MoDaCo, Xenonhd, cm10 aosp, and Sgt7 - the last one I stuck with. Right now I don't need sick over clock, I do need stable, I like the modified launcher . The only issue I had was installing with the 0726 gapps and dev included 0810 gapps in post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788518
Good, i try Stock rom with spb shell.
Last question, can i add a Circle Mod/Percent Mod for my STock Rom (JB?)
or can i add Images somewhere?

Suggest me a ROM and Kernel please

I will probably get my newly ordered Note 4 (N910G) tomorrow, and I want to go straight to business with a good ROM and kernel. I was using Arya Mod on Note 3 and it was an excellent ROM, full with features, but more importantly based on stock, and that's what I am looking here too, completely based on official stock firmware but with features added, features like Priority sender, Delayed message timer for stock messaging app, no gap for the notification toggle area etc., anyone who has used Arya will know what I am talking about. So if there is a ROM like that please do suggest me. I don't/won't change ROM often, so it has to be stable as hell too.
And a kernel also please. Stability is the key factor here too, but next preference is performance, I don't care about batter life at all, so total smoothness (can't stand micro jitters) is the target here and if possible then features like Touch2Wake etc. are welcome. I used a kernel called Shinto on my Note 3 and it was butter smooth with Precognition governor, just so you know.
So please, shoot me.
PS: The ROM has to be Deodexed, cause I will use Xposed.

I can't suggest anything, but here's what I want to share....
Samsung is making his device complicated (from what I see)....
If you try to compare from Note2 up to Note 4, samsung is trying to classify its device into country /region (due to network frequency or any other reason). And Note 4 has more different models compare to Note 2 and Note 3.
and if you notice, each model got fewer custom ROM (if you try to compare with earlier device).
This is my reason why I never root and change into custom ROM, and only after almost 1 year, then I decide to root to play with my note 4.
If you are a TW lover just like me, you will find very few ROM and/or kernel available for snapdragon G series.
So, ...
with a very few ROM/kernel, I think it will be good for you to try it one by one and find the one suit u better.
Cheers,
Thanks. I flashed a very popular ROM but unfortunately it doesn't have what I need, the Delayed sending option in Stock messaging app. I need that option very badly.
Could anyone please tell me whether there is a custom ROM based on stock purely which has that feature enabled?

Best Gaming Rom For Note 3 N9005?

Currently on a Standard Rooted Touchwiz 6.0.1 Port Rom (basically S5 rom, very stable and s pen and everything works.).
I was wondering if there is any other rom that is great/better for gaming and general usage. I don't mind touchwiz or pure android...
I think for more performance without tweaking the kernel much, your best choice would be going for AOSP ROMs like RRN or LineageOS. Stock Android ROMs tend to offer much more performance (at the cost of battery especially while gaming) with stock settings. Both of the two mentioned ROMs are stable enough for general usage (I've used both of them for weeks and months and had no issues whatsoever).
If you want to stay with a TouchWiz based ROM, best choices (but not limited to these only) would be MagMa NX ROM, Aspire ROM along with the Phantom kernel. Phantom kernel at it's new releases offer great stability and best combination of battery life and performance.
My advice would be this: Try each one of them out. Trying period should last at least 2 days so that the ROM and kernel can settle down. Then you should be able to decide which one suits your needs best
All the best in experimenting!
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge using XDA Labs
I do prefer Aspire ROM with tweaked gugu0Das kernel, maybe it's not that stable as not tweaked one, but offers the best performance. For example AspireROM+gugu0dasTW + Real Racing 3 on High works perfect.
But if you want something more stable, then do like @grumpycoder100 said, that would be the best choice then.
And do try each one of them, because it depends from you which one will have the best performance in your opinion.
Best regards!

N00b to all this and looking for guidance!

HI guys. So I'm trying to configure my phone for the best performance / battery for userspace. IE Internet phone apps gui GPS etc. Not looking for gaming tweaks or any thing like that just a powerful user tool. I have it on rooted stock tmobile klte android mm I have susuper and xposed framework installed as well as rom tool box pro. I'm looking to make this thing a beast as it is with the rom toolbox settings tweaks and kernel. I tried a couple modded roms but wasn't to happy with the way I need to use my phone. I'm looking for help not criticism lol. Thanks in advance and I'll post any relevant logs or current settings if any one suggests.
Since you have xposed, I recommend using Firefds kit. It has quite a large number of touchwiz specific tweaks that will improve stock ROM experience.
As for performance, there isn't a whole lot other than using a custom kernel, but most kernels out there are only for the g900f. You can play around with Kernel Adiutor, especially the IO stuff that will improve transfer speeds.

I've been playing around abit with build prop and the other stuff. The build.prop stuff soft bricked me a couple of times so until I do more research on it I'm gonna leave it alone. As far as xposed I was actually thinking of uninstalling it because ROM Pro toolbox is working pretty good I like the results. I need to find out more tho because I was having an issue with calls being dropped after a lil over a min but did a recovery and it seems to be OK. I really would like some advice on how to tune rom toolbox settings to make this thing scream

The best custom ROM for J7 2017?

Hello
in next few months, I will buy this phone over my company. And just want to know what is the best custom ROM for device...does not matter 7.1 or 8.0. Just need ROM to work well without lags, bugs etc.
And what is really important to me - good battery life
Best Rom is Nova Xos 1.2 and Refined note 8 v4
Both android 7.1.1
if you need simple, debloted and very fast rom install xos..
and if want full samsung exprience 8.5 feature..install refiend note 8
Thank you very much for your answer
I read now about these ROMs...both got bugs and lags. Many people write about their problems with these ROMs :/
So..let me ask in another way: which one is MOST STABLE rom for j7?
Maybe to stay on stock...just make root and freeze apps with titanium....?
Refined note 8 v4 if hotspot and AOD is important for you.
It's not important. I just want fluid phone without bugs and lags. I am not power user of mobile phone.

lol then stay with the stock rom if you don't want bugs. the tradeoff if you don't want lag is to use custom roms is those little bugs that might come and go. the one I am using is the refine note8 the only bug is the fm radio but i don't use it so it's not important to me as i feel the battery is the same or it might be longer depending on what you do in your phone and performance is great because i've disabled options, apps here and there try exploring what you could do in the rom. try flashing any of those rom in the thread to see what has less bug for you or no bug at all it all comes down to user preference if you don't want to stay at stock rom.
I see this post just now :/
Thank you very much for answer.
I think will use rooted stock with titanium for freezing unused apps.
Just to ask...can I freeze/remove Knox from phone? Or there will be some issues because of that?
