I've just rooted and unlocked my bootloader on 4.4 and I decided to try out DHackers cm11 test build. So far it has been good to be, besides the battery life and how hot my phone gets. I just unplugged my phone about an hour ago and it's at 76% already. And it's very hot. I don't know if it's the rom itself or the way I'm using it, but I think I might go back to stock.

Hope you don't mind, but I'm posting this everywhere I can. You can get around the lack of working MP3 by using Viper4Android as it installs its own driver.

Well, it doesn't work on mine.
Netflix no longer works on either of my DX or my Optimus, used to work on both.
I cannot see the "stock" app in the Android Market, but I did run it from a link, the Netflix selection comes up, but when I play a video, after "Loading...."I get an error 1101 "sorry we could not reach the netflix service."
I have also tried running a modified version that did work previously for some, just not for me.
Would appreciate any help.
Thanks.
Thanks got it to work again. I dont know if i used that file on that link i posted a couple different places and download 4 diff suggestions 1 of the 4 worked. Like I said it worked fine up untili yesterday since i put it on then out of blue sorry new version available and sent me to market but nothing in market cause of droidx.
I updated to the 595 leak when it first came out and so i lost root. I know i could gingerbreak it but i installed gingerbreak but didnt run it until i decided somem came accross me where i needed root access . so mines not rooted and ive been running for weeks up until yesterday but its back up again !!

None work on my rooted gb leak either, I just get the white screen on start up. I made it to the log in page once and that was it. I tried all the first page links in the big one in the apps section, and all the updated links in the later pages
Try the one at the droidmodderx link it works on my .596 gingerbread

You need to uninstall the old version first....then load the updated...I've done about 10 phones since the update, all working fine, (most are DX).
Works perfect.
Netflix was just updated today (June 16) and it now natively supports the Droid X. No more hacks! Just search for it on the Market and enjoy.
Hi,
I'm trying to download a game, but I installed ICS (latest kang) and obviously it's thinking I'm running 4.0.1 and the game won't run on this. Is there a way to edit build.prop or any other file so I can buy the game before the rebate ends.
Thanks in advance
EDIT: All I'm trying to know is if it's possible to change a file to make the Market app think I'm running something like 2.3.4 so I can buy the app??

did you change LCD density
Only time I have issues with incompatible apps is when I mess with density and set to 210
Default is 240

Do a backup in CWM and install a GB rom, buy the app and restore your ICS rom in CWM. The long but sure way to get there..

but make sure u backup the app with titanium before you restore ics. Because still you won't be able to download from market.

Oh well, I thought about that, but I hope there would have been a faster way.
Still thanks everyone
Have you tried to browse to market.android.com on your PC and buy it there? Yesterday I couldn't buy an app on my phone, for me it worked that way.
you're lucky....at least your phone has a reason to think it's not compatible....I'm running stock 2.3.4 and I get that error message for at least 75% of the apps in the market....including gmail, etc. It's obnoxious!!!
Seriously, this isn't even a dump from online or anything...this is my original ROM backup restored via CWM that is doing it.
It thinks you're running 4.0.1? If you are running ICS euroskank kang you ARE running 4.0.1....

But really, don't use ICS as daily driver, it's way too buggy and slow. Very soon we will have the ICS OTA and then things will be different.. I hope..

flash should be working fine on any jelly bean rom, so probably dont have to worry about updating.
Look it up on Google. There's a fix which j nvloves you going into the system partition and just renaming the file that prompts the updates, just rename it

I jumped on board when the unofficial JB leak hit the web. I immediately noticed that I lost my precious Abobe Flash Player. I decided to flash the stock ICS back onto my XT907. I rerooted and I have been happy since I did this a month ago. I then noticed my phone updating to the Official JB OTA update yesterday. I'm like okay...cool. When I booted back up I noticed that I lost root. I again flashed back to ICS via RSD and rerooted, I checked the web and found the Voodoo app which will save root apparently, I downloaded it and saved root. I also installed the safestrap method and saved a backup. I then went to Settings> About Phone and did a manual check for updates, surprisingly enough it said there is no need to update despite being on ICS. I just downloaded the Official JB OTA Update and saved to my external sd card but I am undecided whether or not I want to go down this road again based on the previous statement losing Adobe. Would I be better off keeping ICS? From what I've read JB doesn't support Adobe at all right?
That is correct. Jb doesn't support flash.

Its settled then, thank you. Its odd that the VZW network doesn't detect my phone running ICS.

That is strange I updated my Razr to JB this morning and Adobe lash Player 11 is still on my phone.
Why is having flash that important to you? I would think that they would make the browser capable even without it.

Same here. If you side load a version of Flash from the Adobe web site, the update should leave it alone. Then you can use a browser that still supports it, Chrome does not.

Well when I flashed the leak Adobe flash player would not work, and there aren't any browsers out there that will even allow flash player to be supported in their browsers on JB. In fact when I went into the browsers settings on my dolphin browser, it wouldn't even let me enable flash. The option was there, but it was grayed out and unchangeable.

That's strange. Can't tell you exactly how mine got in the state it's in but Flash works fine in Firefox and, for the most part, Naked Browser.
I know I downloaded Flash from the Adobe Web site when I first got my phone.

Factory Reset?
Does anyone know we should do a factory reset after updating to Jelly Bean via OTA? When I had the original Droid RAZR, this helped tremendously, but I'm not sure if it's necessary with the RAZR M. I really don't enjoy doing factory resets (have to reinstall all the apps!)
Thanks!

Been awhile since I've been on Android and n00b'd it up last night screwing with my phone. Hadn't made a backup and had to do a flash of the stock ROM losing everything. Saying that, I lost the Apollo music player app since it isn't in the Play store anymore. Does anyone have the latest version I could send to my phone? Everything I've found so far online has been from over the summer. Thanks!
I'm sure that if you do a Google search you can probably find the apk floating around...

Just extract the APK from the CM10 build:

Then send the APK to your phone!
