if it is wired controller it is possible with usb otg but I have never tried wireless one because I don't have adapter for it
If you mean wirelessly, I doubt it. The 360 controller uses a proprietary wireless protocol so it won't work through normal bluetooth or anything. You could try a USB wireless adapter. The charge and play cable won't work as there is no data being transferred through the cable. A PS3 (and maybe 4) controller will work as there are apps for it and Sony used normal bluetooth for wireless.
If you have the xbox wireless receiver you can connect it with usb on the go but i have some problems with buttons...if i try it with a emulator is like they have the auto-hold function so the game is unplayable. And the led is not stable in player 1 but all 4 led flashing.

Anybody have any luck with connecting their xbox remotes? Via bluetooth or USB?
Ive connected it but it doesnt work so far, kind a of a let down.
Any suggestions are welcome.
I'm an xbox dude so thats why i opened this thread.
The xbox remotes use infrared so no dice there. There has been muliple posts and videos on youtube showing how to connect a wireless controller but that requires a donagle

Do you mean the infrared media remote? Or the xbox 360 game controllers?
sucks for 360 owners I have both and ps3 remotes work fine
Remote is a no go, wired controls OK and wireless with dongle is ok

Back when halo came out for the pc I went out and bought a usb dongle to use a wireless xbox 360 controller on my pc. Now I can plug that dongle into my a500 and use a xbox controller wirelessly.
Thank you

I have found many articles how to connect wired Xbox 360 controller, USB Keyboard, USB Mouse and other articles, how to connect via MHL link to TV HDMI Port, but I have a question, is their any chance to connect Nexus 7 to Monitor & USB Xbox 360 Controller together? Or can connect Wireless Xbox Controller?

You can connect the ps3 controller over bluetooth or other bluetooth controllers. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1779347
MHL to HDMI is not supported.
I recently got an XBOX 360 controller to try to get it working with my Nexus 10 however it is not recognizing the controller. The controller itself is a XBOX 360 controller with a USB charging adapter. Since I don't have the USB wireless receiver I'm trying to get the controller to be recognized through the USB cable. Thus I have connected the USB to an OTG cable. When I hit the synch button it continually flashes but does not synch. Is there something I need to do to my N10 to get it to properly recognize the controller? Drivers or rooting etc???
My Nexus 10 is currently stock Android 4.2, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference, it has NOT been rooted yet.
Thanks

Has to be a wired 360 controller. As far as i know the wireless model still connects wirelessly even when plugged in with a 360.
The wired controller is working great for me in GTA vice city though.

the wireless 360 controller does work on a N10, but you need the XBOX 360 Wireless Receiver and your OTG cable. unfortunately this setup is not supported by any of the games i've tried. vice city for instance does not even have a deadzone setting for the wireless controller and the button mappings are all over the place, whereas everything is preconfigured for the wired version.

Yeah, the wireless receiver is essential. The n10 doesn't have a key map for wireless Xbox controllers, which is why they don't work with most games. But if you've rooted it's easy to get it all working. See this thread from the n7 forum, same process applies to the n10. Been playing GTA Vice City with a wireless controller, works like a charm.

Do you have to do any setup to get it to recognize the wired 360 controller? Do you just plug it in to the micro-usb port?

well, yeah.
360 controller -› OTG cable -› N10
no need to configure anything....

That's easier than using the wiimote. Thanks!
has anyone tried one of those cheap usb joysticks with the note 10.1 using apps like joy2touch to play , cuz i'm low on cash right now to buy a ps3 controller
R: note 10.1 + joysticks
Yes I tried with a generic usb controller and it works, but I had to buy a powered usb hub in order to make it work (that might change from controller to controller though)

what exactly does a powered usb hub do ?
R: note 10.1 + joysticks
It powers the controller
When I first plugged in the controller directly to the note with a simple usb otg adapter a message on screen told me that there was not enough power for the controller, that's why I bought the hub and now it works

hmm aah yea i understand now xD
but that will require a power source which kills portability :/
thanks for the answer

Yeah youre right but as I told you it is not needed for every controller, you should try withoit the hub and see if it works

i was able to use ps3 controller with no problem with no any third party app installed.
can someone who tried to use genuine microsoft xbox wired controller advise if it is working?
i have no wired controller, just wireless
.
I've bought a knockoff ps3 controller for 12 dollar on eBay and it works fine with the sixaxis app over Bluetooth

I haven't use the pad over bluetooth, only wired. I do not know about console sync issue as I borrowed a pad fro my friend as I do not have PS3, only XBox. And I have only wireless XBox pad, which will not work with the tablet
I am not rooted either.
I haven't use any tool to connect the pad, I was just working...

I have a LG V20 (8.0), and I'm trying to use my XBOX controller. It's not lighting on. Any tips?
Just spotted LGH990_LGH990DS_LGH990TR_Oreo_Android_v20a posted at opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=ALL&search=990
What am I supposed to do with this?
@Remphz
I don't know if you will be able to because from what I've read you can't just plug the controller into the phone via OTG because the controller doesn't connect through the wire it only connects via wireless and the cable just does syncing and charging duties. You would prolly need the wireless adapter that came out for using them with Windows 10 PCs.

Maybe you could with a 3rd party wired controller but there is no official wired controller as far as I've seen
