kingo worked for me (read up on here about kingo)... TIP.. i fought the thing for 3 days.... finally pulled battery and took my sd card out. tried again.. worked right off the bat. I'm now rooted on MJ7 with safestrap and running hyperdrive flawlessly as we speak. I can not speak for other methods myself.

Is it still possible to root Verizon Galaxy Note 3? I am no longer able to root my Verizon Note 2 because of 4.4.2. And I am thinking of getting a new phone because of it.
I like the large size. I watch a lot of videos. I like the S pen but could live without it.
I heard that Note 4 will be out soon. Does anyone know if there will be a root for that? Probably not out yet, but I thought I would ask
Thanks
Michael

Sir Bindy,
Do you know if https://towelroot.com/ is safe? I received "tr.apk is not commonly downloaded and could be dangerous".
Thanks for your continued support

It is safe. I just used it on a replacement Note 3 that I got and didn't have any issues. Most apk's you download will prompt that warning based on certain security settings in your browser.

Are there any roms you would recommend? Jasmine sounds great, but what is possible with a 4.4.2 note 3? Root but is that all?
I'm coming from a locked bootloader S3, never got to experience the joy of having custom Roms...

pros and cons to either?
I'm a college student so i really want the tethering, as well as the spen features. also stability is a big one as well.
I just received my phone yesterday, and updated to 4.4.4 in ignorance. I realized Towelroot doesn't work on 4.4.4.
Without root, I feel the restrictions of the device - there are many things I cannot do. (I owned a Galaxy S2 prior to this - I still like it - didn't realize how many things I took for granted which can only be done after root!)
How can I get the Verizon Note 3 rooted?
I was wondering if Towelroot would work on 4.4.4. So you have tried and can verify that it doesn't work???

As of right now....there is nothing you can do root it.

There is no root method as of now and I believe most of the devs that worked on getting root for updates and devs that worked on safestrap no longer support this device. So unless some of the new devs for this device can figure it out you may be SOL.

Okay. Is there any way to downgrade it? What if I do a factory reset?

No way to downgrade without root. I dont know how you obtained the phone, but if thru regular channels you can try sending it back and saying it was messed up out the box and request a new one. And make sure not to update that one if you do get it.
Just did exactly that - then I saw your response - imagine my surprise! Thanks.
Told them it's broken I can't root it. They will send me a replacement. Hopefully it will not come with 4.4.4 pre-installed.
You told your carrier the phones broke because you can't root it? ??

Who is swapping the phone? I have a difficult time believing that either Verizon or Samsung would swap it because you can't root it.

I told him what's the issue. He said he understands and took the phone inside, and confirmed that he couldn't solve it, then ordered a replacement. The store guys are good - you just need to ask nicely and explain what is the problem and why it is important.
Hello fellow tech enthusiasts. I recently traded in my cdma s4 for the gsm s4. I have been a root user for years and there seems to be no way to root this version. Kernel is latest from January 14th 2015 baseband ends with BOA1 I would appreciate any help or updates
I have phone, same baseband. I used Kingroot, worked just fine. I just used SuperSU Me-Pro afterwards to swap out the Kingroot root manager with the SuperUser root manager.

I didn't even try. None of the recoveries mention my baseband, which is BOA1 and if I brick my phone that's it, no rescue.

lol Well its not a bad phone, its just the version we have no one else has, or at least the ones who know how to code/program for it. Still I can't blame you for going to Nexus.

Has anyone tried this mobilego root on S5 OG5 yet? It successfully rooted the latest Verizon S4 5.1 rom so it might work on the S5. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3254434

I tried it. Initial connection popped up some error messages in Windows, but I was then able to browse my apps files contacts etc from MobileGo. The "OneClickRoot" button, unfortunately, did not work. Threw an error and then my phone rebooted.
