Hey guys so I was running sacs custom ROM running all sorts of rooted apps. So I wanted a changed and have always loved slimkat ROMs v20 which is the newest version. So all went well but no supersu. I downloaded the link for the updated supersu and no luck using rooted apps. What can it be??
May be the su binary is missing?
Try re-root again by yourself.

Either Re-root, or reflash the root/SU package in recovery.

Is there a link for either or I love this ROM and wouldn't want to lose this after a backup has been made. Just weird that my previous ROM has root access and flashing this ROM no supersu.

Ahh SlimKat, enable root in settings
-EDIT Not used SlimKat since my Nexus 5- it's in developer settings IIRC - they disable root by default

It was on apps only in the developer options and rebooted and still no go.

Ok I keep trying to tweak the developer option setting with root access and DL a root checker app and still no Root? What gives no supersu available still.

I've never done a backup myself but that's bad practice I know.
If SuperSu does not ask you for root privileges, then there might be some issues with your root. Have you tried to install the latest update? I had the same issue right after root, the default SuperSu app did not work so what I did was flashing the latest SuperSu app via Recovery and it worked.
Get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053

Always make a backup before doing anything to your system. You never know what might go wrong. You can backup using nandroid or your custom recovery.
Regarding you SuperSU issue, make sure you answer "No" when your custom recovery asks you fix root (unless specified by the rooting procedure - philz touch recovery when rooting Russian firmware i9500 4.4.2).
Moreover, you can download an app to check if you lost your root privileges. If you did lose it, root your system again.

you can use titanium backup but that needs root. uninstall Super SU and install it from the play store. The app will detect if its activity is hindered by KNOX.

First, make sure that your are, indeed, rooted. Uninstall Super SU in Applications Manager in your Settings. Install again from play store.

download a root checker app to check if you are rooted. try downloading Super SU from play store anyway. See what happens.

Hi I have a weird problem. I hope someone can help me out.
1. Rooted SM-N9005 with Towelroot. Successful. Verified with Root Checker. Then I installed SuperSU and also Titanium Backup (to remove bloatware).
2. Before rooting, everything was ok! but PROBLEM 1 occured as now when I try to dial, the phone, contact and even message have all stopped, "unfortunately ... has stopped working"
SO I read in the xda forums and tried App manager > All > wipe cache but still didnt work.
Went into samsung recovery and wipe cache/data but still didnt work.
Didnt want to install TWRP or CWM as I read these will trip KNOX.
SO I reset to factory settings.
3. . Even after reset to factory, phone, contact and sms didnt work. BUT NEW PROBLEM 2 is now I cannot even install apps such as towelroot, rootchecker, titanium backup or SuperSU... "App NOT installed"
Please anyone help me thank you

if root is successful, can i then flash back the newer rom and still keep root?

If you change for GBNL8 lollipop rom
Choose rom pre-rooted it's more simple ( Aryamod for exemple )
but make a backup of your current rom with laster TWRP recovery ...2.8.3.0 ( additional check box EFS and Modem)
And download tool Savemypitfile to save your PIT file (if you would like downgrad) need root and debuging ckeck
Hello all,
I'm currently running a PA 4.6 BETA and running the hellscore kernel. It was fine at first, but now it's crazy buggy! I was hoping to return to a stock rom but still be rooted and unlocked, so my first question would be, what would be the best way to go about doing that?
Next question is, the only 3 things I'll miss from a custom Rom are double tap 2 wake , double tap 2 sleep, and the battery percentage indicator. Can I get these on stock somehow?
Lastly, if I go to stock, rooted, will I still get OTA Updates?
Thanks.
The easiest way would be to flash the stock factory image and then flash the supersu zip in recovery to get root back. Your bootloader will still be unlocked during this process.
The features you want can be done through a custom kernel designed for AOSP such as Matr1x kernel, and the xposed framework. If you decide to flash the lollipop stock rom, you will have to use xposed alpha and gravity box for lollipop, and then you can get the UI tweaks back.
You will still receive the OTA updates, however, with the addition of xposed and root, they will fail upon installation. To install the OTA you would need to uninstall xposed and remove root, take the update, and then reinstall them, providing they are compatible.

Just to add here, that if there is a custom recovery or kernel installed, both must return to stock for OTA update to work.

Another question: If I have a custom recovery currently installed, can i just flash from there? Or do I still need to go through the guide you provided? Can I just flash it like any other rom after I put in on my device?
The guide and links I provided are to flash the stock factory image through fastboot (Command Prompt), they cannot be installed through the recovery. Flashing through fastboot gives you the cleanest install possible. When you flash through fastboot, your current custom recovery will be wiped and the stock one will be installed, but if you continue to follow the guide, you will be prompted to reflash a custom recovery so that SuperSU can be flashed.
And again I will give the alternative and most easy tool for flashing, the Wugfresh toolkit.
All you need is a pc and to install this toolkit.
After you connect your phone, you can do pretty everything.
Lock/unlock bootloader, root, return to stock rom/kernel/recovery, flash files etc.

I got everything working thanks! I just don't have double tap to sleep ! It wasn't available in the Matr1x Kernel like you suggested, it does have double tap to wake though which is really nice
Glad to help! Enjoy your freshly flashed phone
Now that xposed has been released for lollipop u can easily change the battery % indicator using gravitybox (app that uses xposed). However u will need a custom kernel for double tap to wake.

Updated CF-autoroot with latest Supersu binaries and combined TWRP recovery for SM-T800/SM-T805/T700/T705 Exynos only, Lollipop and Kitkat
I've noticed that quite a number of people seeking to root their device also flash TWRP afterwards, seeing as it's unnecessary to do both steps I have made an all in one package to root and install TWRP recovery.
Cf-autoroot has been updated with the latest Supersu binaries and TWRP has been updated with my fixed version (ADB root shell and Download mode fixes).
UPDATE - I have updated all versions with new builds. TWRP is now v2.8.6.2 and now includes the fixes recently pushed to their repo for encrypted backups. I have also addressed the slow wipe issue, cache, system, etc., which some have experienced and should now be much quicker.
Each device now has it's own build, this is to ensure that TWRP recovery build properties reflect the device it's installed on. ROMs such as CM12 should now install without issue.
Feedback is welcome.
Simply flash with ODIN. Odin 10.6

UPDATED TWRP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3074633
NOTE: It is important to boot to recovery after flashing or twrp may not stick and will be replaced with stock recovery.
When flashing uncheck auto reboot in Odin, immediately after flashing manually reboot and boot into twrp.
Manual reboot is POWER + HOME +VOL DOWN then as soon as the screen goes blank immediately change to VOL UP whilst still holding the other buttons.

After using the app with odin, root checker indicates that "Root access not properly configured or granted".
Root question comes up but can not check the box to allow.
Had an issue like this on a different device and it was corrected when I changed to ART, but do not know where it is in 5.0.2?
Just tried TWRP, and it is allowed.
