is there any way to remove the clock from the notification bar? if your have something like beautiful widgets running it looks almost stupid having 2 clocks there. or at least have the option in settings to keep the clock or remove the clock?
i can understand the other aspect of when your in applications people would like to see the time in the notification area. but i just wana see if i miss it or not.
i gave it a quick google, and most of the responses were fairly old and for different handsets. just wondering if it is possible?
im running SuperE 1.0.1 on a 32A, cheers!
something to try.
check your spareparts app (mine is ver. 2.1_update1) it has user UI tweak at the bottom.
Clock can be set to hidden. (may not work)
while your are there, make the clock color to match your status bar. In case the hide clock part didn't work. (try transparent as well)
yeah in cyanogen's latest rom he includes a modded spareparts app that lets you control this. maybe you can rip it out of his rom and put it into yours if your version isnt the same. maybe can you download it from the market as well, not sure if that version is up to date.
thanks buddy! had no idea i should even look in there =)
the hide clock option doesnt work for some reason, even after rebooting. but changing the transparency to nothing hides it.
only thing is now it leaves an ugly gap where the clock used to be lol. i need to try find a way to remove it completely!

I tried hiding mine as well one day (a week ago maybe?), and it didn't work. Then yesterday I noticed, out of the blue, there was no clock in the notification bar. LoL So it did remove it, eventually.
it works just fine you'll just have to reboot a couple times
rightly so! i was wrong before, it does work. like losinc said u just need to reboot a couple of times. the changing of colour of the clock works too. just took a few times to get it right =)
thanks for ur help guys!
i had problems changing colors in cm 5.0.7 so i updated to 5.0.8t1 and it worked at once
Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general
I need to have the status bar changed to transparent as well as all the status icons like the signal, sync, time and all that crud.
Everytime I try to ADB Pull it out and change then push it back it results in an endless loop of vibrations every fifteen seconds and the screen stays black.
Is there any one willing to pull the framework and change the bar colors to transparent and upload it for everyone. Im using Hyperdroid v 1.7.
Thank you,
Many people have been trying this with no luck because of a lack of skills. so anyone with the know how would be greatly appreciated...
You are more likely to get an answer in the Q & A forum (where you should have put this anyway...)

I posted it here because I was asking for someone to post a file which in turn everyone else can download. Which is development section enough for me lol.
Mods feel free to move if you disagree.

Well, After you ADB pull + edit the .apk file, you need to resign it. Without being resigned, the app wont load. Learn how to do this by searching..
'How to sign an apk'.
are you using ADW or LauncherPro? Both have options to simply hide the status bar. Much easier.
So, I haven't been able to find it anywhere and thought it would be the first mod from iOS 7 to come to android. Anyone have it or willing to do the mod?

instead of having signal bars, you have signal dots. that's what's on the iPhone
it looks nice...for iPhone. it'll look out of place for the N4, unless someone can make it blue when connected to google services and the same color when not connected :good:
UPDATE: Version 1.3.5 is now out. it does NOT modify the xml and therefor the order and layout is the same, i have just adjusted the graphics to allow for a nicer fit....hopefully
UPDATE: I made a mistake and zipped the whole folder instead of the two pieces seperately, this will cause ZipThemer to NOT be able to build it. I have updated the download link....Also I am including a link to v1.2 which is an attempt to fix the spacing issue. let me know how you like it, screens soon.
Ok, so while i agree, that this isnt a good idea, and that it doesnt exactly look very android like, i did have a go at making a zip for use with Zip themer
It goes from empty dots all the way to blue dots with teh gray shades being taken directly from the old set of signal strength images.
Always make a backup, im not responsible for my own foolish actions I cannot be for yours.
Instructions: install the app ZipThemer from the play store, update your edify (give it any working zip that you have flashed to your phone before, a rom or kernel or gapps for your device will work). Then build the theme from the zip i provide, then reboot to recovery, then install the update zip that zip themer made, then wipe cache and dalvik, then reboot.
This worked on my nexus 4, its the only device i own, i use Paranoid Android 3.6 and my device is rooted.....I am going to guess that any AOSP rom will take this theme just fine (stock, CM, etc) though i dont know how to do this without being rooted and having a custom recovery installed. So theres that.
Some other notes. I removed one of teh circles, the ios7 mockup showed 5 dots, and android only uses 4 bars. I also will release an update to this hopefully in the next hour or so, but maybe not until later tonight. Im working on some spacing issues. With WiFi off it looks flawless, with wifi on its a bit close to that icon. i plan to fix this by resizing the dots or rearranging the status bar so that the dots are farthest to the inside (while still right aligned, if that makes sense)
So then, without further adieu, (newest in bold)
ios7_dots_v1.3.5.zip sadly no xml modifications and thus no reordering of icons, theicon sizes have been adjusted to allow for a more snug fit.
Zip being flashed to phone as I type this, screenshot soon
ios7_dots_v1.2.zip Dots moved lower and to the right in an effort to remedy spacing issues with wifi icon

I wasnt aware that the blue was a result of being connected to "Google Services". The theme I posted just above this post here works the same exact way the stock android signal bars do, they go from dark gray to light gray to blue

Made a mention of that a couple times I thought. Version 1 has the icons as big as i could get them within the constraints of the default or stock icon size, this lead to issues with spacing and the wifi icon as seen in my first screen. The cell signal bars only filled the bottom right half triangle of the square icon and so they could snuggle up next to the wifi icon nice and snug.
As a fix i moved the icons down and shrunk them minimally to avoid overlap. I am looking into modifying the systemUI.xml to allow for more spacing or a larger icon to make the dots more visually pleasing. Also if the demand is there I can investigate making the 5th dot work as well, and hopefully it will give a more detailed signal strength reading.
All to come. Enjoy for now or bookmark and wait it out.

Also, what device and rom are you using? I'd love to know how my work fairs on the rest of the Android world.

Is it possible to change those dots to left side?
This mod is awesome! Only wish is that it could be used with themechooser themes... Had to manually change the dots to white but still can't change the "H+" logo

That's nice, but if I can say so, I think the second version - the one with the dots centered horizontally with the battery icon - looks better. The one with the lower dots somehow seems to be overlapping the wi-fi icon space. Like using imaginary blocks to limit each icon space, like in the attachment.
BTW, do you know how to swap the icons so wifi and signal are placed on the left, and notifications on the right?

Hello folks,
Recently I have been super invested in the art style from Persona 5. I've got a wallpaper from KWLP, set notification sounds and I even have a boot animation of the loading screen of that game.
I would like to know if there is any way to theme my system UI even further by replacing icons on the notification bar, nav bar, quick settings and so on. App backgrounds will be great as well.
So far, I've rooted my phone with Magisk on stock OOS 11 and have access to EdXposed.
I can make the icons myself so that would be no issue.
If there is any known way, please link me to a guide if there is any.
Any help will be appreciated!
Not sure it's possible to learn how to theme from a response in a thread.
Might be easier to use a framework like substratum.
Xposed won't help, in fact it'll probably hurt more than anything.
See if substratum may help. Also look up building a substratum theme, there may be guides already out there for that.
If you're talking from scratch and with no knowledge, I think this will be a very long thread before you're ready to start.
Great that you want to do it yourself though, dive in and try some stuff.
Is it possible to use Substratum theme engine in a non rooted phone, without unlocking Bootloader??

No I don't think it is, I think it was at one point but something changed
Try the Evo X ROM, the theme possibilities are endless.
