Im still on 4.3 BTU (29/11/13) because of the issues alot have having with 442. I did read that this DBT rom has S5 apps and settings in it, but the questions is:
Should I stay with 4.3 or have sammy sorted 442 out.
Thanks

Coming from the Note 3 (SM-N9005) I have a few questions as I want to get a S4 (I9500) after I read all sorts of threads and posts but couldn't find definitive answers:
I want to buy an unbranded I9500 in India (INS or INU) which will be running on I9500XWUBMG5 or earlier firmware I assume, is there a Regionlock already active or will it become active with the OTA update to 4.3 (I9500XXUEMJ5 and above)? If yes, is there any reliable method to unlock it (Chainfire's RegionLock Away for the N9005 doesn't work, right?)
Knox is a pain in the a** on the N9005 and is it true that with 4.3 Knox also arrived on the I9500 which means rooting is more difficult now if not impossible (CF-Autoroot and Root de la Vega not working)?
I would like to change my CSC as I need the German language input (there is MBC firmware running on I9500XXUBMG1), is this app in the Playstore working for the I9500 and can I change INS/INU to MBC?
As there doesn't seem to be 4.3 for MBC I will probably be good with 4.2.2 as it doesn't have that Regionlock and Knox crap. Any (positive/negative) thoughts on this?
Thanks a lot for your input guys, it's very much appreciated
Good day am having problems looking for my stock firmware (taiwan 4.2.2) and how will i know if mine is a taiwan BRI or taiwan WAN. i rooted my s4 but am going to sell it so i want it to be good as new unrooted and if its posible to reset the binary. hope to here from you guys thanks a lot...
If you don't have the knox bootloader of android 4.3 you can simply unroot and get the stock firmware. But if you have knox then you're out of luck

same happen to me as well....
Is it causing issues? If not I'd suggest leaving it for a while til Sammy roll out some more updates. Some of the regions, carriers etc are having issues.
Hi radicalisto
Thanks for your reply much appreciate it do you think when the next build of kitkat comes out i should be able to update it to my region? I'm not having any issues I just want be back on my official region firmware.
Since it's not causing any problems currently, I'd wait a couple of weeks and see if the new updated roll out takes place. No real need to have Official region unless there is something Specific you need from it right now, short term it's OK, long term once KK settles etc you should be able to switch back with zero issues :good:
I posed the question to Samsung Mobile UK on their facebook page
No surprise as to the non-committal reply but if anyone else would like to join in it's at

Hi there I am from Portugal, so the firmware is 4.3 P600XXUBMJ6 - NOTE 10.1 - 2014 (Wi Fi) SM-P600
So i would like to update to KitKat because of the multi user option (isn't present in 4.3)and to upgrade to KitKat, but i've read a little about the KNOX thing and i'm affraid to do something wrong... I've done it before many time with my Galaxy S2, with odin and custom roms.
If i update to the same firmware from Spain it will trigger the KNOX to 0x1? It is possible also to downgrade to 4.3 or it will be upgraded in the future?
Thanks for your help!

Ricardo
Hi All,
I recently wanted to move back from using the Polish 5.0 XEO back to the UK 4.4.2 BTU rom. I thought this would be straight forward, just flash the previous ROM and it would be OK. However once I rebooted I found that although I'm back to a 4.4.2 ROM (N9005XXUGNG1_N9005OXAGNJ3_N9005XXUGNG1_HOME) the CSC didn't change from XEO to BTU. I have found that this is because the ROM I have used includes a XEO CSC. Is there a clean BTU ROM without XEO? Is there another way around this issue? If it helps this is a Region Free/Unlocked Note 3 32GB. Knox is 0x0 and I would like to keep it that way and finally the *#272*imeinumber# doesn't display a menu.
Any or all help would be appreciated. I know there have been a few posts similar, but I've not found one that does what I anticipate.
Regards,
SONiKz
