ok, you should be on 4.1.2 and it still doesn't show updates OTA? Try hocking it up to Kies and check through it, make sure you turn off firewall as it sometimes prevents it getting info. open Kies, connect phone and you should see option to update.
Update quickly to 4.1.2 first before flashing or rooting because of sudden death syndrome in 4.1.1.

Yes. It's free.

There you can select if you're on windows or mac.
Download it, install it on your computer. Then use a usb to micro usb cable (the one you charge it with is fine) to connect it to your computer. KIES should launch automatically, if not, open it up. There you will be offered the possibility to update if there is an update available for your carrier.

If You have branded device it's possible that Your current carrier didn't publish newer software version than 4.1.1

to unroot ur phone: Go to supersu, go to settings, scroll down till u see ''cleaup'' and tap full unroot.
Don't make duplicate threads about the same issue (Especially so when people are already helping you in your thread in General).

Yes, but you might have to install a custom firmware or return to stock without root, or just remove the root and wait for the ota update.

One thing people have been confusing lately is a soft brick vs a hard brick. They freak out when theirs phones won't boot past splash screen. When your phone won't turn on at all. That is when you are hard bricked and are pretty much screwed.
