[Q] Original Recovery with KNOX, OVERRIDING Philz Touch/CWM - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys i have problem maybe this might be a noob question but I have the N9005 (rooted) and the bootloader is now KNOX tripped 0x1 (not cared about the warranty) so what i want to do is install the PHILZ TOUCH recovery, but when i did,Via Odin 3.09, and the reboot into recovery it gives me the Original recovery, also tried CWM recovery but looks like the Original recovery is overriding it some how. is there anyway to get rid of KNOX Recovery and get a custom Recovery Working ?? (also followed links to remove KNOX Files but still appears in Orignal Recovery)

Knox Status still 0x0, how to proceed ?

Hello Guys,
Let's start with the story :
Old Bootloader, Stock Kernel , PhilZ CMW and Rom XXUDMBA with Chainfire Root.
Then i've installed through CMW the Know Free XXMI1, with Adam Kernel and Modem XXMI1 and still CMW Philz.
Suddenly my phone started to get crazy. Not able to receive calls, pohone freeze , screen blinking etc... Tried with factory and wipe but stucked on S4 logo (not even the samsung one)
Installed, through Odin, the MH8 pre-rooted, Modem MH8, Stock Kernel.
Now i've the new Bootloader, Knox Status stil 0x0, New Modem and New Rom. Everything is working but i've a question.
If i would like to have back the Philz Custom Recovery, flashing with odin, the Knox status will reach 0x1 ?
And why now my device says that my status is modified. I have stock kernel, recovery, rom (just knox free).
and if i would like to update the Rom with a stock one, with knox and all the other s***t, do i need to go necessary through Odin ? because OTA are compromised.
Last question is : Is the wifi-fix mandatory ? i don't know how to know if my wifi has problem. So far seems to work perfectly.

Modified because its pre-rooted...
Flashing anything through ODIN will change the void warranty from 0x0 to 0x1 unless its a stock rom (from MH8 up otherwise you will soft brick)....
You might be able to get rid of the modified status if you flash a totally stock rom but who wants to do that?
So the next question is :
If i would like to flash a new pre-rooted or custom rom i'll void my knox anyway. Because now i have stock recovery and this mean that i can flash only through Kies to a stock Rom right ?
Flashing a custom recovery with Odin (Knox 0x1)
Flashing a stock pre-rooted rom with Odin (Knox 0x1)
Flashing a stock rom newer then mine with kies or Odin (Knox 0x0)
am i right ? so i'm stucked on this ROM in other words, unless i'll just don't care about Knox.

eMMC burst mode: enabled

Hi, i used old philz recovery to restore nandroid backup (without selinux option) and now i have this new line in download mode: eMMC burst mode: enabled
unfotunately now i get red warning everytime i boot with custom kernel (top of the screen, red warning: knox kernel warranty void or so..) it is very annoying.
Can i go back to previous state? when i had no messages at boot with custom kernel or recovery? i flashed with odin MJ7 XEO and even MJ3 leak (without botloader ofc because its blocked when trying). i did full wipe, no help...
i had knox warranty bit void 0x1 science day one cause i tried to flash MGA before i read it will void my warranty so no worry about voiding my warranty now, i can flash everythig - please help me to remove this burst mode! thx

hi there, you should be able to flash a stock 4.3 rom. This is what i did. I no longer get anything come up when booting the phone besides the samsung logo. I however want to get back to a 4.2.2 rom.. None of them work.. I can only flash 4.3 roms.

Yes i can flash stock 4.3 mj7 system is working, but every time i run philz or use custom kernel i get this annoying red messages on the top of samsung i9505 logo ... and emmc burst mode still is enabled.
Kernel is not seandroid enforcing
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing.

[Q] Mobile ODIN Pro - Installing TWRP, Reactivation Lock...

Hey XDA,
I'm about to install TWRP via Mobile ODIN Pro (v4.20) and I have a few questions.
1.) It says it will trip KNOX, but when I installed SuperSU I have successfully disabled KNOX. Does this mean that even if I install TWRP recovery, KNOX still won't be tripped?
2.) Can someone point me to a link on how to install TWRP step by step via Mobile ODIN? (I found one that shows how to install FlipZ Custom CWM, but I'd like one for TWRP) I need the latest TWRP version link also.
2.5) Can the stock recovery make nandroids? I'd like to make a nandroid before flashing TWRP, but if I cant it's no big deal. (Again, just wondering, but I still want TWRP)
I just want to do this right so I can make a nandroid backup. I am already familiar with TWRP from my HTC Evo 4G LTE, so im not interested in CWM.
FYI: I am on the stock ND2 rom - G900P (Sprint) - KOT49H.G900PVPU1AND2 - (if that helps you)
Thanks in advance! - zmag
Ad 1. Custom recovery trip Knox to 0x1 = loose waranty for motherboard
Ad 2.5 No.. Only custom recovery

You have not successfully disabled Knox and as you already know, installing a custom recovery like TWRP will increment the Knox flag.
No, the stock recovery cannot make a full backup. That is one of the primary benefits of TWRP. Your best backup alternative given a stock recovery would be Titanium Pro, which isn't nearly as good as TWRP. After you install TWRP you can make a full backup.
The only obvious way to make something resembling a Nandroid without a custom recovery would be to use the dd command from the command line and back up each partition.
You were just telling me in another thread how you always do forum searches. It's not hard to find numerous Odin tutorials if you search.
.
just get img file of stock recovery so u can flash back if u need best way. u can make backup with twrp then when you restore u just got to flash stock img ir tar of recovery

Troubles installing custom recovery on Note 4 910G

I have a Note 4 - 910G (India) currently running 5.0.1
I have managed to root the device. I can confirm that I have root access with an app like root checker. And yes, I've managed to trip Knox. At the custom boot screen, it shows Knox status as 0x1 (4).
My problem is that I can't install TWRP or any other custom recovery. I have followed the usual steps to install a custom recovery with flashify, TWRP installer and adb commands. Each time I try, the device reboots into odin mode (high speed) mode only. I then have to flash a custom recovery with Odin and the device reboots. However, even then.. if I try to boot to a bootloader, it still goes into the odin mode.
Is my device completely borked? Can I still install TWRP and then CM12.x on the device?
Any help/pointers would be appreciated.
I too have a note 4 sm-n910G. I think ur TWRP file is corrupted or you got the wrong file. It should be easy to get custom recovery. I rooted my Note 4 using CF auto root and it had CWM recovery which i tried to flash in Odin but it wasnt working. So i changed to TWRP 2.8.1.0 and it worked perfectly. Maybe try changing the TWRP file, or use a different one like CWM or philz recovery. Good luck...

Custom recovery issue - help please

Hi Guys,
trying to flash a custom Rom on my Note 3. It is a UK model supplied by EE but is unbranded.
Flashed several phones before, just running into some issues this time round.
Got my Rom, Autoroot, CWM and Odin downloaded.
Flash Autoroot with Odin - no problem.
Flash CWM with Odin - no problem - until i try to boot into recovery anyway.
No error message etc on Odin but when i try to boot into recovery it keeps saying "cannot do normal boot" and puts me into download mode.
I can get to download mode to reflash and have tried TWRP with the same results.
It is saying "custom binary" when in download mode, and my Knox counter has tripped to 1 (phone out of warranty so not fussed).
Ive searched online and cannot find a thread where they actually manage to sort the problem.
Presumably what I want to do (install a custom Rom) is not impossible as there are so many Roms etc available for the Note 3, I am just a bit stuck as to my next step.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Use TWRP or Philz Recovery .
Thanks for the reply JJEgan, I tried Twrp also to the same effect. I did try Cwm first though, is this a common thing when using Cwm or have I done something wrong?
Im going to flash a stock 4.4.2 from SamUK and try again from scratch to see if it made a difference coming from 4.4.2 instead of 5.0 and then TWRP
