Hey guys, I have a question about google play. In the past with my s3 if I changed any system settings through root, or whatever i would not be able to watch my Google play movies. Is it still the same now if I change any thing
Thanks

Im not sure about this, my Nexus 7 is in the mail, but I believe you can restore it to factory stock and you can get it back.

When you look at it in the web store, does it have a price under it or play? See image attached how mine is just ready to play.
In the online play store it just says play.

So can you see it in the Movies app?
Just got the tablet and am giving it to the wifey for her bday. Im obviously rooting it so I can play behind her back. Is the move a download, or already on the device? I'm not sure wether I should root, then dirty flash the JR003D build or if I should normally update, then root to keep the movie with the device. If it's a download...? IDK. What should I do?

By default the movie just streams, so you can pick it up again by logging into Play.
Hi
I bought my Nexus 7 a few days ago, and noticed that the Google Play Store and Play Music was available on my device, but when I got it rooted and used Titanium Backup I could see that Play Movies, Play Books & Play Magazines was on the device but deactivated.
I used Titanium Backup to activate Play Movies and it works fine, but when i turn off the Nexus 7 and turn it on again later, the Play Movies app is once again deactivated...
Is there anything I can do so this doesn't keep happening?
The availability of those two is dependent upon your country due to licensing restrictions.

So I can't use the application because Google can't sell me any movies?

Only apps show up on the play store. If I go to one of the play apps and click the play icon, it redirects me to the browser and tells me its not available in my country!! I have dozens of songs and couple of adventure time episodes purchased and it says this? The only solution I have is to go to my phone with my mobile network and it let's purchase stuff, then I sync. It works but you know.. Thanks!

Hey guys,
Just wondering how to manage to play music from Youtube while the screen is locked on the Nexus4?
I had a iPhone4 prior and it worked when locking the phone. Locking the screen on the nexus causes the app to pause the music or shut it down.
Im not looking for other apps in order to make this happen, I want to be able to use the Youtube app and just lock the phone.
Someone here on xda modified the YouTube app to make it possible again.
I don't have the link currently, but you should be able to find it with the search function.
Here you go bro is also a HD one too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529715

There are many apps for that. Look up "YouTube music player" in the play store and a bunch will come out.
The title says it all
There is no option for 1440p the highest is 720p

Log out from youtube
Use application manager to force stop youtube
Clear cache
Clear data
Start youtube and sign in again
Look for 2k or 4k videos and try to play them. If 1440p is still not avaiable repeat process.

If you tried few times and you sure that videos you tried are avaiable in 2 k or higher resolution then you out of luck because there maybe some region restriction enforced by youtube. Update youtube from play store. Reset it using method mentioned before, turn on wifi and search youtube for 2k videos. This one have 1440 available.

Its related to kitkat not the device
Google updated something server side so only devices running lollipop can play videos at 1440p.
If your rooted and still on 4.4 you can edit the build.prop to 5.0 this will allow you to play the videos at 1440p that is if the videos have been uploaded at 1440p obviously.
