Hey Everyone,
I have a GN3 SM-N9005 32g, rooted and rom'd..
I have been having an issue I can not seem to figure out after weeks of searching and trying different Roms.
It seems that whenever I use any VoIP app, whether KakaoTalk, Line, Whatsapp, etc, and i make a call, the receiving person cannot hear me. They only hear static. But I can hear them..... And vice versa, if they call me, I only hear static, but they hear me fine!
I do not understand what can be wrong. I have tried CM11, AOSKP, C-Rom, AICP, and mostly all other AOSP and the problem remains. Everything else works fine and even hangouts video chat works great, just no ability to VoIP call without static.
Another interesting fact is that if I use TW base ROMs like x-note and bobcat, VoIP works perfectly!!
I do not like TW though, and wish for use with an AOSP rom . I need help if anyone knows a solution because I am traveling and most of.my calls are through Line or Kakaotalk.
Any help would be great, thank you!!

Hey guys!
I downloaded Nimbuzz today to use it for making calls via Skype, but I've got a major problem: While I can hear the other party perfectly, they only hear strange screaching noises coming from me...
I also tried using the skype echo123 service...same problem. I can hear perfectly but my recorded voice is completely distorted...sounds kinda like an old 56k modem dialing...
I tried it via 3G and WIFI its always the same.
Do you have any Ideas whats wrong and how it can be fixed?
Phone is a debranded and rooted X10i running 026 firmware.
Thanks!
I haven't had a problem with skype-to-skype calls yet... Maybe try uninstalling the apk, and reinstalling it?
when I use, I have a delay, like I say something and person listen for like a sec or 2 and then speak and I have to wait to get the reply. I am on wifi though
how do you use skype on 1.6 ?

... Based on your username, I'm going to assume that this is a troll account... otherwise, how else would you miss the fact that this thread has "USING NIMBUZZ" in it's title.
I hate my life.
I reflashed yesterday, the quality of the recording to the echo service improved slightly, but now nobody can hear a thing from me when making "regular" skype calls...
Looks like I'll just have to wait for 2.1 and the official skype client then...
Hmmm. I just tried a 3G call via Nimbuzz to the echo123 account and it worked perfectly.
Are you using an external mic or the phone's mic?
I used the internal mic... but the bigger problem is that I can't hear the other side...except when calling the echo... they can hear me and the echo recording sounds like calling Mars but at least its understandable...
Exactly the same problem here, only tried over wifi
i think skype and nimbuzz are no longer friends....
what are you using now?
Hey all,
Recently (in the past month or so) my phone stopped ringing on my end when I place outgoing calls. I use csipsimple and VoIP, but regular phone calls exhibit the same issue in my testing. I've changed my radio from .33 to .48 and now down to .27, but still see no difference. I've done a full data wipe as well.
I'm currently running the latest PA with GApps. Any help (at least as to where else I can look/troubleshoot) would be welcomed.
Bump

That seems like what your phone is supposed to do. When the phone is ringing why would you want to call out? Shouldn't you accept it?

Thanks, but I actually fixed my issue. I had to set up my Google voice trunk by routing it through simonics. Now my outgoing phone calls actually ring properly.

Am facing the same problem buddy. The phone is amazing but as Viber and Fring are not working on this phone, am thinking to re-sell this phone and buy a Samsung phone. If anyone can get a solution for this issue, it would be great.

I think there must be some solution to this. Hope this forum helps.
Hi, this is Viber's rep.
Do you guys use stock or custom ROM?
In addition, please check: http://bit.ly/xMDuVw for possible solutions.
Thanks!
Its a stock ROM (i.e. its come with the phone) , Android 4.1.2
Please note that Viber does not officially support your device yet, and that may be the reason for the problems you are experiencing. Here is the full list of officially supported devices: http://helpme.viber.com/Knowledgeba...roid-supported-with-viber-system-requirements
We are continuously working to adapt Viber to more and more devices, and we hope to make your device fully compatible soon. When we have news, we'll let you know.
Would rooting and using CyanogenMod help?
We (Viber) cannot officially recommend this.
In some devices, Viber cannot "handle" the microphone (since we don't fully support that device), causing Viber not to recognize the phone's microphone properly. That is probably the reason that Viber cannot transmit your sound to the other side. We discussed this issue in detail with our users in this thread on XDA Forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25865775#post25865775
Please note that in that thread, a workaround was suggested *by a user* (and not officially by us) that seemed to have solved the problem for Galaxy S+S2 users.
Hi,
I successfully sim unlocked my sprint s4 to work here in the Bahamas and it works perfectly on Touchwiz Roms. However, on any aosp or aokp ROM, I can't receive any incoming calls. The call rings as normal on their end but I get no notification that a call is coming through. I have searched for the past two days and could find no one who has experienced the same problem. Other than that, everything works fine, including data.
Same here, came in france, unlocked, and everything works except incoming calls

Hi all,
I can imagine this is a general Android feature but since I use the OP5 I thought of asking here.
I noticed while using f.e. WhatsApp voice calls (over WiFi) that they drop when a network call is incoming.
Is there a way (rooted or not) to change that priority and keep the VoIP call alive and just show that someone is calling you normally ?
Thank you in advance
apologies for not responding with a fix for you - but there's definitely some issue with the latest build of oxygen OS and voip - in addition to call drops there are problems with voice/SIP/RTP itself. This is not just limited to whatsapp - but also Tango and skype.
Only real way to isolate the issue seems to be to reflash to older stock ROM and see if the problem persists. But is it worth it?
