Can you fix doubled "delete" key in screenshot notification, please? It is nexus 7 2013 Flo.
Edit: it was gravitybox incompatibility, thread to delete.

Can anybody tell me how can I Screenshoot in aokp build5 with long press the navigation bar button? I run remember it works on build 3,but in build 5, the Screenshoot have been removed from the function list.
Hmm. You're right. It's gone. I used to use it too, but have switched to screen shot on the power button. Maybe try that for now and submit it as a bug? Not sure if it was removed intentionally or not.

So my phone downloaded the OTA and now there's this constant notification saying touch to upgrade.
I really don't want to upgrade to 4.3 because I'm sorely going to miss nexuslouder, the screen gamma settings and touch control and I'm afraid I might hit the notification and accidentally upgrade to 4.3
How do I banish this?

Touch and hold the notification, tap app info in the pop up menu. In the following window untick 'show notifications'.
This works for regular apps, dunno if it works for the ota notification...
You could also try deleting the update zip from /sdcard/Download/

Hello, i was searching for the same thing. Wouldn't this workaround hide other important Android system notifications? I can't think of any, but maybe you know better. Thanks anyway

I have the same issue. I do not want to go to L and would love to get rid of the persistent notification.

Hi everyone,
Since I use a menu button in my navbar, I was wondering if there was a mod, that I could flash to remove the 3 dot menu. If there are none, I am willing to do it myself and have tried the following methods but they don't work for me. So if anyone knows of a mod or a guide, that would be great:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297692
The above link was the only one I could find, the rest mostly relate to HTC One threads.
Rom: Vanir Nighlty, Android 4.3 (AOSP Base)
EDIT 1: Here are the steps I tried:
To remove 3-dot menu:
Decompile your framework-res.apk
Go to values folder
Open bools.xml
Search for
<bool name="config_showNavigationBar">true</bool>
and change it to
<bool name="config_showNavigationBar">false</bool>
Recompile your framework-res.apk
I also made sure to sign the apk and zipalign it before putting it in a flashable zip
One thing I also tried, it was a long shot & it didn't work but I decompiled the framework of an MIUI rom since they have it enabled, and tried taking a few things from there but it didn't work
EDIT 2: I have already tried editing the build prop with a line from a HTC thread but it didn't work (phone wouldn't turn on)
Also, if anyone knows where menu-related stuff is within framework res that would be great because that would be a good place to test. (That's if the solution lies within framework res)
EDIT 3: Update: AOKP unofficial 14th September (4.3) still has the bug

I'm using Full screen toggle apk and LMT pie for navigation on stock 4.3 rooted and working well. See here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497558

Thanks xanthrax but I already tried that a while ago, I edited the build prop and my phone wouldn't turn on, so the search continues.....
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that the overflow menus you are referring to is coded into the app and not really dependent on anything else. Meaning that it is part of the app itself and not something the OS shows. Isn't that what Google's android interface guidelines suggests?

I'm not a dev or app developer so I can't really comment on that. But I do know that some roms do have this feature on 4.3, it's just that it it doesn't work.
So im pretty sure the answer lies within the rom itself, not the apps maybe. Although im not even sure if the solution lies within framework res, it could be system ui or even at source, in git, which would make it out of my hands
I know that there are roms that can add the menus button permanently to the nav bar (PA can do this) but I have never seen one get rid of the menu overflow button within any apps themselves. Even back to 4.2 roms I never saw that type of behavior.
In fact now that I think about it when I still had my GS3 which has a physical menu button there still was the menu overflow button in some apps because that is what Google's app guidelines say to do.
Edit - I think what you are seeing about the htc one is about removing the black onscreen nav bar that shows up in apps that don't use the menu overflow button on app because the htc one has hardware keys but not a menu key.

There are roms on 4.2 that can remove the 3 dot menu because I used them. All roms (Or at least most) on 4.2 based off AOKP have the feature, i used to use Rootbox rom on 4.2.2 and Xylon rom and the feature worked perfectly. But if you look now on 4.3 AOKP builds, it just doesn't work for some reason

The apps seem to know if the phone has a menu button or not.
Just throwing this out there but PAC has the overflow menu disabled by default!
If there was a way to port this to other roms I would be ecstatic!
But alas I do not know how to cherry pick commits and I have no idea where the commit is in PAC's GIT
You find me that commit and I might be able to add it and build it with a friend of mines help.
[Q] Remove the "Voice Mate, Google, Quick Memo" menu from the bottom of the screen?
I installed GravityBox w/ CM PIE controls to replace the navigation bar. I want it on the bottom but with the "swipe up" launcher menu containing Voice Mate, Google Now and Quick Memo there I can't seem to do that. Anyone have any idea how to disable this? Maybe point me in the right direction so I can figure out a solution?
solved!
I'll leave this thread up in case anyone else is interested but I've solved my own issue by removing the NAV BAR via/ build.prop. It also removed the launch menu.
Credits: qsec @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2476764&page=2
Solution: add to build.prop (if you don't know how then use Build Prop Editor from market)
root required!
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
I don't know if I can help u... I've tried uninstalled single app... in my case I hate Qvoice so I uninstalled it and that app disappear from swipe up... but I looked for the swipe up menu to change setting but I fail... Here is a screenshot with swipe up without qvoice
I've noticed a strange issue, and I'm curious if there's a fix or workaround.
Here's what I'm doing:
1. Open Google now and search
2. Highlight text in the results with a long press and some tap and dragging
3. Tap the copy icon in the clipboard tab at the top.
4. Receive the toast "the clipboard history was cleared"
And indeed, what I just copied will not be I'm the clipboard. Any way to fight this weird Google Now behavior?
Problem solved! The culprit was the xposed module " Secure Samsung Clipboard"
You have any xposed mods? I've seen settings for that in those before.

Affirmative. I don't see anything in Wanam or gravitybox that looks like the right thing.
I expect there's a xposed fix for it...just can't find it. And if there isn't, it's a prime candidate for one!

It sounds like you are using xposed with the Secure Samsung Clipboard module. I use it and see that exact message.

Stock 4.4.2 from OTA, towelrooted. I believe this behaviour was in place before I re-rooted, after the OTA. I believe it's just the default way for GEL/Google Now to behave. I'm guessing the toast being shown is from the Burnt Toast xposed mod I'm using.
But the issue of the clipboard being cleared is, I believe, not due to a mod. I'm looking to change the default behaviour with a mod, or figure out if anyone is doing that already.
It just seems might odd to me that the clipboard function will pop up and sorta work, but Google makes the clipboard dump, preventing you from using it.

Sorry! I did eventually figure this out--it was an xposed mod I still had installed from before the OTA: Secure Samsung Clipboard. Disabled and the problem went away.
