I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR PHONE CAUSED BY THE INFORMATION POSTED HERE. THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL.
First of all , i know there is a thread about removing the Unlocked bootloader logo. This thread is started just to present some information based on my personal experience.
I owe a Motorola Razr I with unlocked bootloader .......
A couple of weeks ago i decided to come back to ICS from the JB fastboot i was using(orange UK). Instead of using fastboot files made by mattlgroff I decided to fully flash the original ICS firmware for my phone using RSDlite. After the firmware was flashed i pushed the signed logo to the device.Of course the phone didn't finish booting and got stuck in bootloop. My phone became then a brick with a black screen and green led and i had to use the files from here to unbrick my phone. Big thanks to U1138 for finding the solution for unbricking.
When my phone phone finally booted i was so excited i didn't realize the ugly Bootloader unlocked logo is gone. I realized that yesterday while restarting the device and thought it's good to share it with everyone else and maybe will find a way for everyone to get rid of the ugly message on the boot screen.

So you suggest going back to ICS, bricking your device, unbricking it and flashing JB again in order to get rid of the bootloader logo?

I'm not suggesting anything. Only if you know what you are doing you can try it and even then take extra caution. It might be just a particular case.

Yes mate. I have like this for more than 1 week and i do reboot my device quite often due to poor network signal at my work.

here's a short video to proof the unlocked bootloader message is gone
I am not a hundred perent sure of that, but I think this worked on your device because you unlocked your bootloader while on ICS then, upgraded to JB using matt's fastboot.
For someone who upgraded to JB using the OTA and only then unlocked their bootloader, this won't work because the motoboot file version is already the highest (homemade fastboot does not flash motoboot, that's why you were able to flash after a downgrade)

It maybe be possible. I did unlock bootloader while on ICS

Anyone can confirm that intentionally bricking the phone by downgrading to ICS and reviving it deletes the unlocked sign?
Don't work with me
my logo returned to normal after restoring Pi-llama rom through cwm.
Could you be a bit more precise?
What do you mean with normal, no unlocked bootloader message left?
And what do you mean with restored?
Thanks!

i unlocked my bootloader on ics telcel then went to 320002e.u. and did an update to 40002e.u.and my sing of unlocked bootloader disappear. but i hate is reading the warning message of unlocked bootloader in jelly bean how can i eraseed that.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226504
Yes, its for unlocking the bootloaders for the Snapdragon Motorolas (Atrix HD, RAZR HD and RAZR M) but after unlocking their bootloaders the same message appears (the same that we have), @tucstwo has provided a file to remove the unlocked message for these phones, I don't know if that zip could be compatible with the RAZR i, but giving the fact that the zip file removes the unlocked message for these phones ALREADY RUNNING JELLY BEAN, maybe someone can give a try and see what happens...
Link of the zip file is on the 2nd post.
don't work...
LOL try some king of custom upgrade we known that we have some chance of brick our phone and we get this risk like a bet with more chance to win, but intencionally brick the phone that cost here in brazil more than $500 we have to be a great crazy.

Yes! It dont work. Do not even try!
Hello all!
Im convinced my S4 has no download mode what so ever! I have done every possible button/pull bat/usb cable connect combination ever lol. even tried with a jig I made but perhaps didn't do it right and that why it didn't work.
Also tried to reboot it into download mode with adb and all that did was reboot the phone as normal or go into the screen with the yellow triangle and the android character laying down with hes belly open lol. Aside from that I can get into factory mode but that's it. Its like my phone never had download mode built into it.
Its truly a bummer since I love the phone but want to unlock its full potential to really enjoy the device 100%. Any recommendations would be highly appreciated as I truly don't know what else to do.
Thank you all.

I think you must switch off your phone & Let press three button combination above while switching it on.
Sometimes we did work correct, but it doesn't work.
Try this.
Turn your phone off.
Leave it alone for a few seconds, to make sure that it's not rebooting.
Press and hold Volume Down and Home (don't press power yet).
Keep holding down those buttons, and now press and hold Power as well.
AS SOON AS you feel the phone vibrate, release the power button but keep holding the other buttons.
Wait a second, the screen will appear.
Release the other buttons.
If you hold power down for too long, the phone will reboot.
If you release the buttons too early, it will just boot normally.
If you aren't holding the buttons when the phone first powers up, it will just boot normally.

Ok I had same issue your need to hold power, volume down and home key until you see download image try doing from phone switched off and phone switched on should work my friend, let me know
Make sure you hold all three and keep depressed nil you see message
That's not a real galaxy s4. The bezel above the home button is twice as large as it should be. Same applies to the bezel below the Samsung logo and the side bezels.
Your antutu information also says the GPU is a powervr 531... The real i9500 has a 544.
Your kernel is based on the Linux kernel 3.0. The real galaxy s4 uses a 3.4 based kernel.
Compare your phone to the Wikipedia image. The bezels and dimensions are obviously all wrong.
Sorry man. That sucks
EDIT:
Oops missed where you said it was a confirmed fake. My mistake. Oh well more evidence... Still a darn good fake... Pretty good specs for a fake too.

Dear all
I just have a big problem that I still cannot solve by myselft and all the things I searched on Internet
I downloaded the Android 4.3 stock rom from Google dev site. Then, I tried to install it by Google Nexus Toolkit 1.6.4 but it was not successful
( Perhaps the universal driver is not fully compatible with Windows 8, I often have this problem on Windows 8 )
Then I changed to use Google Nexus 7 Toolkit v5.0.0 and flash the stock ROM
This tool could do a little bit further. It extracted, deleted user data, send file to machine but after that, it flashed unsuccessfully
The screen is still in bootloader mode. So I decided to press Start to check whether the ROM had been installed successfully or not
And it said boot failed
I turned off the device and then couldn't turn it on till now. I plugged into laptop and it said lacking of APX driver.
I searched and know that this is a mode only for NVIDIA processor devices
I tried so many ways on Internet to turn it on, but still cannot
So can you help me wake it up ?
Thank you so much

Based upon this evidence I suggest you don't use a tool kit to flash 4.3 and do it manually

I'm not an expert but I would say there is no way for them to know at this point. So yes, you are covered. They need to completely wipe the device to get it back to life. This is something that happened to people updating OTAs as well, so it's not an uncommon issue.

You can always backup via so many apps on the playstore mate.
The contacts can be exported out, the images can be transferred to the pc or sd card.
It is lengthy but easy.
Plus it is always recommended to do a data wipe before using the new rom because the battery.stats also get rewritten with it.
Thank me if I helped

Thanks for your quick reply. I agree with you. I was talking of an app+data backup which is not easy without a rooted software.

Apps can be backuped too via extractapk software available on the playstore, but not their data (sad)
But app data is nothing in comparison to the good functioning of our phone
Press the thank button if I helped

You're right
I am also having this freezing problem. My phone is rooted with i9505xxugnj8 rom, after root was ok, then i used titanium backup to remove some bloatware and it started with this. There is only one difference that i have to press and hold home button to unfreeze.
Let me know any ideas, thanks.

Thanks xDroidZz, yes I tried custom roms, not the imperium rom, but a lollipop 5.0 and other 4.4.2. I know it sounds crazy, but i think I got used to my original rom, I just wanted to get rid of some crap that came with it.
Looks like it is not a problem with the ROM, sounds like is something that was removed together with some bloatware. Like happened with rotation issue : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644293
Is not there a possibility to totally wipe/blank the phone (bootloader, kernel) and back to epoch, then start from scratch?
Think about these are as:
- radiocomm
- qflash
- or something else ...
even if it is very difficult?
I guess the updated, locked bootloader won't even allow you to do any of that, just like how it rejects flashing custom system/recovery images.

Was thinking to "force bricking" and then somehow unbricking... in any way destroy or replace the current bootloader in order to not be able to prevent the intervention. What do you think about the "blank bootloader", what are the possibilities it gives?
Replace BL -> supposedly not allowed by current BL
Destroy/clear BL -> unable to boot up & lose access to fastboot flash mode -> no way to flash in anything
...at least these are what I think.

The boot loader is locked this means we do not have access to this. We cannot downgrade the boot loader period if you are on .15 and not previously unlocked

Well, that sounds pretty bad. Although this was a very good device, I have to look for other, probably Nexus, which is open ... It was not a good move from Motorola.
I agree it was a bad move but it seems to be the nations standard these days

What do you think about the bugreport? Already occurred twice since the KK update (never occurred in JB).

You're stuck, you can't root .15, you can't unlock it, and you can't downgrade if you're locked. This has been discussed a billion times.

its more verizon wanting the locked bootloader then motorola
After about a month of use after the experience 183.46.15 verizon update:
- constant cracking sound from the speaker in any event
- 3 random shutdown (while running with endomondo, the result is of course lost)
- 2 random reboots
- continuous battery drain
The latter is probably due to the fastdormant apk, but since there is no root, nothing can be done.
In summary, due to the new update the device completely unusable. Previously, in JB, none of the above error occurred (after >600 miles running with same device)
We can say that Verizon only create the update to prevent the root, and nothing else test the software.
I wonder why it was so urgent to send the .15 OTA? Maybe in order to "destroy" the devices as soon as possible people having to buy another one?
.15 sucks big time

Really bad decision by me not to unlock bootloader. Paying the price now with the update.
For me,
- Phone display or power button stops responding at least 2-3 times a day. This is followed by an automatic reboot
- Battery drains really quickly - clearly because of the Modem FastDormancy Monitor
Things I have tried so far:
- Factory Reset
- Modify the NVM to accommodate GSM
- Kept phone in GSM only mode
- Disabled Modem FastDormancy App
- Kept phone in safe mode
Nothing works. Same behaviour.
Will try to flash 183.46.15 over my 182.46.15 with a complete data wipe. Not many hopes left. :crying:

Me too. I am not stuck I can go back to JB..but can't for few weeks as laptop is not currently here...
So following things are helping me right now to keep my bettry a little (it won't last more then 5-7hrs) but these things helped some
=Iam keeping my phone on safemode
=I am keeping brightness at lowest
=I am using du bettary saver
=most best I am using greenify
Better way to use greenify:
use greenify every time before pressing screen lock button...it closes all apps..allow greenify to auto kill apps (no root need) create a shortcut.. And just bang this shortcut one it will force close each application running automatically... It worked for me a lot saved something like 6hrs on standby and a lot time while using.thanks

I'm not going to argue about it, but it's been discussed in every thread about .15 and there have been many threads about .15.
