can anyone access me to a thread where i can find stock rom for my galaxy y without pc..
you cant flash stock rom firmware without a pc effectivly - There is a thread but I believe the process has bugs like imei so I wouldnt recommend it
You can flash a "Stock rom" via cwm but it wont be the same as flashing it via odin - think of it as flashing a custom rom with no modifications - It wont convert your system back to rfs or change your baseband for example

Is it possible for someone to upload stock kernel file for 2.2.1 XXJPY (kernel version is 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1). Version that is flashable via odin, not cwm version.
I am about to flash my kernel with custom one, but would like to have stock kernel near me, just in case that something goes wrong...
Subquestion is:
is it even possible to reflash to stock kernel via odin once you fot custom one (speedmode to be precise)? I think i read somewhere on forum that it is not entirely possible. Does someone have any expirience with this?
Samfirmware (http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm) has all stock firmwares.
Yes of course you can flash back to stock, you just need to make sure that lagfixes are disabled if you enabled one.
But honestly, I'm 100% sure you won't go back to stock after flashing a custom kernel or rom, it's just that much better.

Thank you very much.
But, as I can see, on this page there are whole roms to flash, I wanted only kernel files. Could kernel be downloaded somewhere?
I'm on stock rom 2.2.1 with CF-root kernel.
Haven't seen a stock only-kernel when I searched for it recently on this forum.
I decided now to download the full stock rom from samfirmware instead which I can go back to in case Kies won't allow me to update to Gingerbread. I figured there's no big difference whether I flash a ROM (which includes the kernel) or just the kernel, the effort is the same.
I just learned that returning to stock ROM (kernel) will be little more difficult for me because my phone is T-mobile branded!
If I flash to a stock firmware does that mean kies will then recognise my firmware as offcial so I can download new updates through it. Thanks

You can always use SpoofFW to flash to your original firmware

No as its not the firmware that came with the phone nor its Kies update .
As post above only method once you use Odin is either a backed up copy of original firmware and yes a few backed up or spoof fw .

Thanks for your help what do you mean by 'spoof' fw

Ok, this is my real problem. JJE might know solution to it...
Before i start flashing my kernel, ROM etc... I would like insurance that if in a couple of months something dies in my SGS, like speaker or something, I can go to repair shop and have guarantiee.
For that I would have to reverse all changes to virginly clean T-mobile branded ROM.
As I understand, to do that i would have to flash it via Odin with 3 files (PDA, PHONE and CSC).
Currently, when I type *#1234# in phone I get:
PDA - I9000BOJS5
PHONE - I9000XXJPY
CSC - I9000GCROJS4
so I presume that are the files version that must be flashed in Odin.
I managed to find all files except CSC code (for Croatian T-mobile 2.2.1 ROM). Couldn't find it anywhere.
Is it possible to put some Multi CSC and then later change it to right one ( I9000GCROJS4) with spooffw?
Or there is another way to find/backup/extract CSC from my current configuration.
Or another way to get back to stock branded ROM if anything goes wrong?
I can do nandroid backup because I cant get to CWM because i dont have 2e recovery (that is one of reasons I want to flash to another kernel, to get 3e and CWM).
Please help!

1. Install the custom rom. If u need the modem flash it later.
2. You are lucky person still having android 4.2.2. I recomend u flash one custom recovery through ODIN and flash a CUSTOM ROM there keeping the old bootloader :highfive:
Hi, this is my guide for flashing via Odin. it's for the gt-i9505, but I think it works for you too.

Hi all,
I have a Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 with a carrier rom and I want to have the samsung official rom.
I downloaded the stock from from this link: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=29362
I tried flashing it with odin V3.09, but when the phone loads it is still with the carrier's rom...
How can I completely remove the carrier's rom and have only the Samsung offical stock rom ?
Should I use Philz recovery to install the rom from zip after a factory reset ?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can't because the bootloader is locked down.
There's still no way to unlock the bootloader right now.

I'm not sure what you want, exactly. The 'carrier' version of TouchWiz isn't super different from the 'standard' TouchWiz. Maybe a few apps are added and the correct APNs and stuff are included. But the base ROM is still TouchWiz.
You can get custom TouchWiz roms that have more features than the stock one, but that look and perform just like the stock one. Those are carrier debloated (usually)
Or you can just root the phone and manually remove all the carrier bloat that you don't like and give yourself a 'pure Touchwiz' rom.
If none of that appeals to you there is also AOSP roms, which have none of the TouchWiz UI and look like like a Nexus device.

Hi mate ,
ILO is the unbranded version , should not have any of the carriers bloatware on it ..but it will have Samsungs....
Did the flashing went ok? if you still have philz recovery installed after flashing something went wrong
BTW bootloader is not locked.
Flashing went fine but with no change at all

Hi,
Thanks for your help.
The flashing went fine, but the loaded up like I haven't flashed it.
It was the same like before I flashed it...

Hi mate ,
After flashing what recovery you have installed?
Any Odin errors during flashing?
Check this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
Flash the rom with PIT file ( any of the ones you see there) then after you confirm that the flashing went ok flash the ILO firmware
I tried out another ROM on my spare phone in the hope of gaining more space, but I have decided to go back to the stock ROM, and install LINK2SD.
I've got several identical phones, so should I backup a ROM from one of them and restore it on the flashed phone? If not, how do I choose the best ROM from the Galaxy Y S5360 flashable firmware packages
thread?

The thread you have quoted is old and no longer in use
See my firmware thread at the top of the dev section or by clicking the link in my signature & selecting the appropriate thread
There is also a guide on my thread which tells you about Samsung firmware codes - Just select the one from your region
Thanks again Marcus.
It would be really useful if some outdated posts could be culled..
Flash your stock firmware through odin.
There is no bad choises, only bad results.
SGS III Mini
tenshi_xp's PAC Rom RC-3
KitKat 4.4.4.

Google search for:
"Return to stock J3109"
Or
"Stock firmware for J3109"
You'll probably find it at Sammobile .com or samsung-updates .com.
Then do a Google search for
"How to flash stock firmware in Odin"
Make sure you get the newest version of stock or at least the version equal to yours but not any that are older than what you already had.
If your device does not boot but does vibrate when you press power then you can get a debrick.img from someone with your exact model number that has a rooted device using terminal emulator to retrieve the debrick.img from their while it is on stock firmware. Then you can find instructions for unbricking Samsung devices using an SD card to boot from.
