So I'm looking for a custom launcher that has tweak ability wiht Google Now integration.
However, all the launchers I've found on the Play store does not have a feature to swipe out of Google Now.
For example, the original google now launcher allows you to enter and exit google now by swiping left/right of the screen.
but other custom launchers have a feature to swip in to the Google Now but does not have a feautre of swiping out and entering the launcher again. ( Gotta press home button or back button)
So I was wondering if there were any custom launchers out there that has a feature of entering and "exiting" Google Now screen by just swiping.
Thanks!.

The google now APIs haven't been released by google therefore developers have no way of including swipe to google now in their launchers. The closest you'll get on a custom launcher is either putting a google now widget on the far left of your launcher screen or using a launcher like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.epic.launcher Otherwise use xposed and xgel module and you've got a custom launcher and google now on the left. Hopefully google will release the APIs in the next android version.

Hello,
I tested today Google Experience Launcher, it has a nice feature, when you swip with your finger to left, than you see Google Now.
I want that to, but only with Nova Launcher, how is that posible?
Unfortanely, I don't like the Google Experience Launcher, only the Google Now function when you swipe with your finger to the right.
Many thanks my friends!

from what i tried with the Nova launcher is that you can get the transparency but nothing else...the Google Now side i think that is a closed source
Pff, I never don't have luck.
Oke, thanks man, It should be a nice feature with Nova Launcher.

Hi,
I have recently installed iLauncher which has removed the Google search bar widget from the top of the home screen. I am also aware that other launchers like nova can do this.
However, I am still unable to figure out how to remove the same google search bar that appears when I enter the app switcher (recent apps). This app switcher being what appears when you press the right hand side square button at the bottom of the screen on the home screen, where you can close the apps you have running.
I have no clue how to remove the search bar from here and it is very annoying, as it is on the switcher but not on my home screen and I do not want it on either.
I have included screenshots of my home screen and the switcher so you see what I mean.
Thanks.

It depends on the custom ROM you're running, most custom ROM's have their own settings menu to configure options that are usually not found in AOSP. You have to search there and see if there's a menu for recent apps and the option to show or hide search on recent apps should be there.
Xposed and GravityBox is always an option

I am not running a custom ROM though, just stock marshmallow with a different launcher installed.
Is there really no way to remove the search bar from recent apps?
You can do either of the above or request the launcher dev to include it. That's 3 options, just for you.
Nova Launcher allows this to be removed
Picked up one of these phones for my new teenager, thinking I could lock everything down well between an applock app and norton family app. But I can't seem to get rid of the google search bar on the home screen and can't lock the google app in the menu. And neither of these google search capabilities are monitored by norton family.
What can I do to uninstall/disable/lock this google search app?
I installed nova launcher, but the google app is still available in the menu, and the applock app doesn't see it (since it's native?).
So far I discovered I can hide apps from the drawer in nova launcher, but the app lock apps I have won't let me lock the nova settings (doesn't appear in the list of apps). I also installed a different keyboard and locked the system settings.
Is there a way to lock the app drawer or nova settings?
Hi,
Other than the default LG launcher (which I dont use - I use Google Now Launcher), nothing - no LG apps - no 3rd paty apps run full screen... Is this normal or something weird about my device software?
I have set all my frequently used apps to "Scale" to 18:9, rebooted many times etc but they all run with a solid white or black home button arrangement. I was expecting the LG apps to run full screen but they dont either... I even tried going back to the LG Launcher, rebooting, trying apps but still the same result.
I would really like full screen apps with a transparent home button section... is this possible?
Thanks!
It's normal the navigation bar is always solid background unless the app developer codes an app so it becomes transparant, which is very unusual in my experience.
I think its a problem with Google Now Launcher, I was experiencing the same issue. I switched to Nova Launcher and the navigation bar is transparent like its supposed to be. Nova Launcher just added Google Now support to the homescreen using a companion app that lets you swipe to the google now feed, so now its basically a better version of Google Now Launcher.
Here's a link to the article to setup Google Now with Nova Launcher
I have LineageOS 19.1 (AndroidTV) installed on my new walmart tv box.
Is there any way to set nova launcher as a default launcher on this platform?
I did use button remapper as a temp solution, but would rather make it native.
You can change the default launcher but nova isn't designed for Android tv. I suggest atv launcher, flauncher, or dashboard
Search on GitHub for Android tv launcher manager
Also use button mapper from the playstore to change the home button to the new launcher
If open source means anything to you, google open source android tv launcher and you'll find a reddit post that has a huge list and you can look through to see what you like
Frankly, I am not a big fan of Android TV optimized launchers.
I am a very OCD kinda guy, and all my devices all have the very same layout.
A few programs in the dock and an analogue clock widget (and nothing more).
Could I achieve it, with Google TV launcher, or any of the other TV optimized launchers?
P.S I did install button remapper as a temporary measure, but it doesn't give me 100%.
For instance from Google play store, home button takes me to Google launcher so I have to press home twice to get to Nova.

That's why I also said to use the android launcher manager from GitHub that's what disables the stock launcher

Maybe this helps:: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-launcher-of-android-12.4512821/post-87787765
Cheers
It did, but not directly, thanks.
The original method proposed there, doesn't work.
Using launcher manager oddly didn't work either.
What did work, is uninstalling android tv launcher via adb and then using launcher manager to set nova as default.
