First off, the phone is reading an IMEI of 0. The phone was rooted successfully, I did a factory reset to hopefully get the phone to refresh the IMEI information as it was disabling me from receiving data from my provider. The factory reset must of corrupted the root and now the phone gives me this annoying yellow block of info and says it is in factory mode. I have tried to root the phone to follow steps in order to disable factory mode but odin and the original motochoppa method are both failing.
I am now downloading an original firmware for the SGH-I337 but the phone is still in download mode from the previous failed attempt, it blatantly states "Do not turn off target!!" so I am under the impression I should leave it plugged in until this original firmware downloads and try again.
I would greatly appreciate the help from everyone here! Samsung wanted to charge me $70! And I know it is simply a matter of restoring it back to original firmware.
Issues-
-IMEI reads 0 in settings
-Phone was rooted successfully
-After factory reset root became corrupted
-Phone now stuck in factory mode (huge yellow box)
-Failed root attempts in order to disable factory mode
-Phone is now left on "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!"
1. Reboot ur phone in DOWNLOAD MODE again.
2. Flash the firmware that u downloaded before through ODIN.
3. Dial *#06# for see if you recovered your IMEI. If dont, you will have to pay what Samsung told ya for fix it.

I encrypted my phone several months back. Today I decided to root the phone. I followed the directions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291827. Problem is phone won't boot. I get to the enter password screen, but once I enter the password the phone shuts off. Please
Update. I tried reinstalling the stock rom using odin, but even though odin said the install was successful. I still have the same problem. I enter the password and the phone shuts down
Did you try the Factory reset in the stock recovery to remove password ( and also your data) ?
I was actually going to flash a stock lollipop rom from Saudi Arabia this morning but little did I know, I didn't know what are the procedures to manually flash it on odin. So I followed sammobile.com's instructions. I went to download mode in my phone and then I start it. And it showed an error in odin but I have not copied it to be able to distinguish what's really the problem. Being a noob, I unplugged my phone and tried to repeat the procedures but now it won't boot, can't even go to download/recovery mode, vibrates with an interval of 2 seconds and the screen stays black.
1. Am I able to fix this?
2. If yes, can somebody help me.
Edit: My phone was actually rooted 4.4 kitkat
Boot it normally, It'll say something like this "Firmware upgrade failed. Connect to Kies to restore firmware". Leave it like this and connect it to your computer and Open Odin it should say Added! in the white info box. now you can start flashing again the firmware.
Hey guys, my aunt has an S5 which has issues now. Her phone can be powered on, get past the samsung logo screen until the initial lock screen to unlock the phone. But while trying to unlock, the phone freezes(anywhere from 1-5s after the screen appears) and reboots again. This repeats infinitely.
She's checked with a samsung shop and they say it's probably a motherboard issue.
I was wondering if:
1) If it's possible to fix the phone with another method - have tried booting into recovery and wiping the cache partition. Phone boots fine into recovery and bootloader. If not:
2) If it's possible to back up her files in the phone via recovery or bootloader before factory resetting the phone?
Try flashing the exact same firmware you are currently on in odin aka download mode with out any wipes to find out what firmware you are on boot to recovery mode and a line should tell you what firmware you are on currently
I can walk you through the process of flashing the firmware if you want
Download the firmware from Sam mobile.com just Google it
You shouldn't lose any data if all the appropriate options are checked in odin on a pc
I can't garuntee this will fix your issue but it is a way to prove if it is a software or hardware issue

Hi,
My galaxy S4 decided to poop itself yesterday. I was browsing my emails and the phone restarted by itself. . but then it kept restarting over and over again (Boot loop). The phone felt hot, so i took the battery out and left the phone for a while.
Once i put the battery back in, the phone kept boot looping. I managed to get it into safe mode and make sure all my photos were safe – I've just returned from a holiday in Hawaii, so this was very important to me.
After i was able to make sure photos were backed up on the computer, i cleared the cache partition and even did a hard reset. The phone kept boot looping. My phone now gets stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT I9505" start up page. I read about issues with the power button, so even atempted to open the phone up and wiggle the power button around a bit by squeezing it with some tweezers. This made no difference. I've even swapped batteries and tried charging it.. this also doesn't work. Currently my phone has the "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505".
I have been on whirlpool forums and it was suggested that i reinstall the firmware through odin.. i did, but with great difficulty and many attempts. My phone was able to boot up and i was able to send one message and make one phone call before it went into bootloop again or just switches off and doesn't want to be switched back on again. When the phone was on, no sound was apparent when a phone call/text message came through for testing. I've retried dowloading the software on odin, but when i try to switch my phone on it says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again".
I've also tried putting the phone on the charger and no sound or green battery coloured animation comes up on the screen now.
Please somebody help
It was the latest stock firmware from sammobile.com that was flashed to the phone? Was the phone factory reset from stock recovery before booting the phone after fllashing with Odin?
As far as I know it was the latest unbranded firmware from sammobile.com.
A factory reset was one of the first things I did after starting the phone up in safe mode and trying to recover files.
The phone has never previously been tampered with. I've only ever upgraded the software through WiFi or Samsung kies. Using Odin was a learning experience for me.
Maybe the factory reset needs to be done from the recovery screen rather than from the ROM settings?
The factory reset was originally performed from the recovery screen. I can no longer get into recovery mode though. It only seems the phone wants to get into download mode
Have you tried flashing a ROM designed for a particular carrier in your country?
This is going to sound silly.. But I thought that's what I was doing when I went through Odin and got the firmware from sammobile.com
Which version of Odin and firmware was flashed?
What errors occurred during the flash process according to the Odin log?
Tried flashing with a pit file?
Hi guys!
I've read tons of threads and guides on Google but nothing helped me to bring to life my Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. After hours and hours of test and probes I surrender!
Basically I was using normally my phone and suddenly has power off and showing the Samsung Galaxy Logo continuously. I've force reboot it with vol down+pwr button and after some minutes restart normally again. After 5min again the boot loop and stuck there. Tried again to power it off but didn't work so I thought was the battery (because is 3yrs old with heavy use and months ago I had the screen flickering and a battery drain to zero). I opened the phone, unplug the battery and the power button (because I thought was the power button stucked as on my father phone). So after mounted all the stuff in their place I tried to boot it and suddenly start to work again! I've backup all my things rapidly but again power off by himself and this is the last time I see it working.
So I tried to empty the cache entering in the recovery but it was useless so the only way seems flashing the original FW with Odin. Downloaded the right one with Frija, upload the rights files in Odin (Home_csc because I don't want to lose my internal memory stuff) and the phone automatically reboots, pass the Samsung logo and go in Upgrading mode with the blue android screen and a % increasing. After that by himself power off and nothing happen.
I read some stuff about my possibilities to recover it without losing data but a lot of tutorial talk about entering in recovery but I cannot do it! Simply does not go in recovery with vol_up+bixby+pwr_button even after force shutdown it with vol_down+pwr_button or reattach the battery. The only thing I'm allowed to do is put it in Download Mode to be recognized by Odin.
I've tried to launch ADB devices but it is not visible in Download Mode.
I've tried to flash another firmware for the same model (theoretically my one is unbranded italian) but I tried with WIND one because in download mode there is a text "Carried_ID:WIND" but this FW Odin fail to upload it.
I've tried to flash the TWRP with Odin but fails on the phone with error "Custom binary(recovery) blocked by FRP Lock". I've searched how to unlock it but without have access to recovery or phone settings seems impossible. And this phone has also OEM Lock.
I've tried again to flash the FW but the only difference than before was the blue android robot with stucked text "Installing system update", "Erasing" , "yellow advice notice" and finally a green screen with "An error has occurred while updating the device software.Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC Software". And yes, I already tried with Smart Switch but the program does not detect the phone.
I've also tried to flash the original recovery but nothing change.
Seems that my devices is bricked or a kind of boot loop.
In my situation there is something that I can do to recover the internal memory data? I don't tried to flash the FW with CSC file because I don't want to erase all the data.
My Galaxy was original since the purchasing, no root or flashed a FW, only OTA updates.
I've attached a photo with the stuff that appear in Download mode.
