I currently have a p100 sprint tab that I want to update to a new version of android.
I'm on stock right now and I'm having trouble flashing a new rom.
I can't figure out how to install CWM and need recommendations for the most stable rom.
Cheers!

Hello,
New user to a Nexus 4. I have unlocked and rooted the phone, have cwm installed for my custom recovery. I am currently running MIUIv5 however I am thinking of switching to a much lighter/less bloated rom such as the latest CM.
I bought the phone factory set, I am 99% sure it had 4.3 installed but I can't be 100% sure as I had rooted the phone the rom bug hit me!!
So, to flash a 4.3 rom such as CM10.2 do I need a baseband upgrade?
Currently on: M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.84
Thanks,
Looks like you are already on the latest baseband so there is no need to flash one.
Thank you
Hi All,
I currently own a HTC One M7, have done for two years now but I am thinking of getting a Note 4 and I just wanted to do some research on the difference between the flashing process compared to HTC.
On HTC you have the firmware (containing radios etc) and the ROM, with the kernel flashable as well. The ROM is based on a firmware version so it when you install a custom ROM it was always advisable to install the matching firmware first. Installing a official OTA update install the firmware and rom as one.
I know you have flashable ROM and kernel on Samsung devices but I can't remember if there is a separate firmware as well as my last Samsung device was a Galaxy Nexus.
Thanks

HI there, with Samsung devices you can install stock firmwares and get root via Odin, then with a recovery you can install a custom rom, change the kernel and modem. I think it's no so hard, but first read and ask
I have a Sprint L720 running a odexed stock MK2 rom from circa 2013. I followed all the steps back then flashed a custom recovery and the rom for the hotspot capability and am still extremely happy with how it turned out but... I want all those fancy new features lol. I don't really need anyone to hold my hand through the whole process but I did reformat a few times since then and have a couple questions before I start paperweightin' this.
Everything on here is MK2. Software, Baseband & Build. If i wished to flash a newer lolipop rom to my L720 would I need to apply any updates first? Can I flash the new rom from the custom recovery? I attempted to upgrade the firmware through Kies but keep running into a device not recognized error that I suspect is because I'm rooted. Anyway thanks in advance for your time!

My Dad recently got a Galaxy S4 on Sprint for work, and he wants to put stock Android on it. Is it possible to put the latest GPE ROM on this phone? And if so, is there a guide? I looked around but could only find instructions for Jellybean.
Root it, flash a custom recovery and flash the rom.
Or skip the rooting and flash a custom recovery directly, then flash the rom. Roms usually come pre-rooted.
if you want pure Android but also the latest look at AOSP roms too...
hi
i purchased a unlocked at&t phone off ebay and it works fine but its on 4.4.2. i want to root and install new custom firmware based on the S6/7 rom - newest android basically that'll work.
What rooting guide should i use and whats the best rom to get it flashed to a UK based rom?
If you are on 4.4.2, do NOT take the OTA update. updating to the official AT&T Lollipop gets you an encrypted bootloader that is unlockable.
look for guides based on 4.4.2. you'll want to install a recovery, then you can flash custom roms.
