Seriously mate? First of all, you should probably read the FAQ of this forum and specifically refer to Q8. Furthermore, there is another forum for i9500 ROMs where you can find plenty of nice ROMs, just go through the threads, get the ROMs which appear adequate for your purposes and try them out.
I don´t mean to be rude but XDA is a forum for people who want to try out new things, educate themselves and understand better how certain mechanisms and processes related to hardware and software work. You are expected and need to do some reading and investigative research by yourself, otherwise you will not improve your knowledge and won´t advance at all as a user. If you are not eager to learn and don´t want to improve/advance, then clearly XDA forums are not for you and you are better served by other forums of which are plenty around. Excuse my directness but that´s pretty much it, I am sorry.

Thread closed as "best ROM thread." You need to try them for yourself and see which works best for you.

HD2 Leo - Which ROM?

Hello all. Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their great work on ROMs and applications for the HD2.
So, I have the HD2 obviously for about a month now, and I'm "stuck" with the default 1.42 ROM which actually makes the HD2 look like it has a 250MHz processor. It gets really slow from time to time.
I'm looking to flash it with a custom ROM, but I'm a bit puzzled, given the many ROMs that already exist.
I would like your opinion on this matter; Which ROM do you think is overall better, faster etc? I actually want less RAM footprint, I want Copilot and stuff like that removed, updated versions of the HTC apps etc.
I'm leaning towards the Artemis by Sternas, although I would appreciate some more experienced opinions.
Thanks in advance.

What do you mean "not again"? Many similar topics?
Yes, I've read them, and by starting this topic it's obvious that I need some more info from those who want to share their knowledge.
From those who don't want to share their knowledge I didn't ask anything.
I'm NOT asking which is the best ROM. I'm asking which ROM do the most of you have at this time installed and which OVERALL suits the needs of a larger audience and not just the "cooks" needs.
usaully this threads end closed
Hi !
Should be a good idea to have a post where users comment their experience with different roms. I dont mean rating but more like user experience in therms of usability.
We've had this a thousand times. No, there will be no thread that asks for users' opinions on ROMs. Try them yourself.
The last thread like this got closed only a few hours ago...

I would disagree. Most users posting these kinds of questions are obviously too lazy to browse through each individual ROM's thread. I very much suspect that even if there was a central 'ROM experiences' thread they wouldn't bother to finish reading the first post.
Also, given how things have been around here recently, the thread would probably escalate into some sort of flamewar before it reaches page 2.
Anyway, if you're interested in a *very* rough indication of popularity:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=534&daysprune=-1&order=desc&sort=views
It's the ROM forum, sorted by views. Artemis thread does pop up somewhere at the top, so might be a good starting point for you, dimitris_s. Only a starting point, mind - only you will be able to tell which ROM is best for you, so try a few.

Advice for ROM choice

Hi All,
I know you probably hate those questions, however I am really lost and need your input.
I am a noob in hd2 roms, I have installed hyperdroid scorpion rom but it really looks awful.
I tried checking other roms but i really can't understand which is stable, fast, and in the same time has a recent version of android with decent looks.
Please help,
Thanks
Hi there,
try Orangemix, it's running on ICS with Google Now, it is fast, stable and very smooth

Hope I could help you with your decision
Please move this thread to general / question and answer mods.
To OP : do not post in development PLEASE unless it is to real ease some kind of developmental software..... also please go reread forum rules because you clearly have not. Thank you

Move to Q/A, only Dev here.
To the OP, try some roms and see which ones are more suitable for your needs.
Thread moved and closed since it will be redundant.

Hello, hello, hello
I've decided to close this thread.
Let's be honest, this is a little lazy
The problem with asking people for the best ROM, is you're actually asking opinions, and opinions vary from person to person. So the best thing to do, is just to have a little look in the Android development sections, look at the features offered and make your own decision Search is always your friend!
I'd like to see a little less of these best ROM threads please
Also, a lot of these replies were not helpful whatsoever and some were even offensive, remember, nobody is above the rules and disrespecting a member is never tolerated either...
Thanks a lot,

Suggestion for the infamous "which rom is best" question

Hi everyone,
So XDA has made it clear that they dislike the question "Which is the best ROM" and will delete any posts based on this question.
I think we can have a thread that is more factual rather than opinionated. An actual comparison charts of some sort, with a long list of ROMs and which features they have or don't have being identified by checkboxes.
I know the general reply to the question is try them out yourself and pick what you like, but the idea here is not to say which is best, its just to provide as much information as possible so that we don't have to test each rom individually or go through threads and threads to find what we like.
I don't know exactly how this would be approached but if a this thread can become a sticky thread I think there will be a lot less questions on ROM features. Maybe the ROM developers can make submissions or whatever to the list with the features they have/don't have and new features can be added as they are made.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, feel free to move/delete this if inappropriate.
Thread closed,
While your idea is interesting it still falls under the rom comparison thread which is against forum rules.
The reason we do not allow these is, if you are a rom developer who has spent hours and days worth of work, putting a rom together, then somebody comes in and says this rom is better because it has X Y and Z, you can see how that developer would not take it too well.
The best thing to do is to simply read the OP's of the different roms in question and try it for yourself.
Best rom threads do not work in general because each user is different. If you give a rom to 3 people and say to use it, each person will get different results.
It does boil down to the fact the you need to decide what you want out of your phone and then try roms yourself to see which one is best for you.
Many thanks,
Ghost

Sorry but best ROM, best kernel, best tweak, etc threads are typically not allowed. Everyone uses their device differently and somethings are always more important to some people than to others. A "major" bug for someone might be lack of bluetooth connectivity, while other users don't really care. Often times this leads to pointless debates and arguments. The best thing to do is read the OPs and the last couple of pages in the ROM threads and then try out the ones that look "best" to you...it is fun!
