Let's start gathering information about what it would take to port Ubuntu touch to the xperia z1s
We would need a new kernal that hard to port
Z1 has only cm 10.2 and cm 11.0, but ubuntu touch needs cm 10.1 at the moment..maybe this is the problem
It's next rubbish thread about nothing... Please close it..

Understood but is there anyway to root the z1s on T-Mobile?
No one wants there phone to be completely changed to Ubuntu Touch.. Let the Multiboot project be finished then only it would be good to discuss.
Ask about Rooting somewhere else there are Rooting Threads Available
You first need root, and that's impossible for the Z1S atm. This is not a development thread

Also we have locked bootloaders, so who knows how smoothly that will go, and don't forget about ubuntu having some glitches and bugs so we will have to flash updates to rid of those bugs, and who knows how well that will go, but i salute whoever can get it working :good:

well it is just awesome that i today found. i think this is important.
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_fit_s5670-3726.php , this phone has low performance than us and it has got kitkat...
now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581415 form., as per instructions the kernel 3 even is not available for this phone but still it is working :good:
so can we work with this thing ?
probably not, because the main difference is GPU );

Well, what you want porting or building from source?
Porting will not work because we don't have the updated kernel which will work on KitKat.
For building from source we need an updated KitKat device tree which we also don't have!
So we need a developer who can do one of these things, which is to advanced for me, sorry.
If I'm false, correct me
Building from source, sasakovic, could you try ? As you are the last dev who know how to build from source for the wildfire.

if you clearly see this phone got no GPU and moreover. the phone has low ram than us. so the thing is that there is no 3 kernel available for this ROM it is mentioned in that threat. so can't we port this baby ??:silly:
WEll i don't find GPU ?? anywhere in the features of this phone

well i see..the only porting expert which i know left wasim32 who didn't gave his reply on this threat. i tried to contact him for this. but in vain he didn't gave any reply...sasa said we don't have kernel. even kylon has left he knows how to work with kernels. i tried to contact erwin, hdcr jacob but all in vain. nobody has replied either they are not available or they don't see their PM
imo the biggest success is that our device handles ics quite good. we also have working cm10 and cm10.1 but those roms aren't work as they should work without kernel 3 but in fact, they work wildfire wasn't designed to be fast device etc but devs made it as fast as it was possible and i am very glad to them for their effort

well i am also thankful to them too...i keep on trying again and again to contact them. erwinp is busy with his college i think he is now a doctoral student. he is busy with his thesis. he was the fastest person to work on the cm9 and his works are still the best those are used to make willy travel this far ....
kylon's phone has broke and he is not seen active in this threat anymore
Yes, it's build with 2.x.x Kernel version but the drivers has to be updated to fit in KitKat.As Android uses a monolithic kernel. So in kernel there is everything present like display-, audio-, cpu-drivers,....
And I already said that we need an updated device config.
hmm

You've ported a cm11 ROM?
Or did you build it from source..?
It's almost impossible to port a KitKat ROM to the HTC WF, due to no gpu rendering, and as far as i'm concerned our device hasn't even got the 3.x.x Kernal yet, I know developers like erwin, symp, and kylon could of done this. But they left the WF section.
Btw if you said you have a cm11 ROM for the WF, then why not take a quick picture of the ROM, or how you did it?
Anyway would be fine, because it would be awesome to see someone who has got it on the HTC Buzz.
Hey guys. I was planning on attempting bringing a new ROM to our phone. The problem is, I cant decide which ROM? Which ROM would you guys want the most?
Thanks,

Nobody wants clean, well optimized and hack-free AOSP? Aww...
i would also like liquidsmooth. i just like trying different roms. right now i'm on stock rooted 5.0.2, but can't make many changes.
Are any dev here that can port or make Android N from source
i would like to help but i only know how to flash ROMs and etc nothing about programming
Thanks!
Taking into account that Qualcomm is not releasing drivers for older SOCs, I don't think so it will be possible...

I think CyanogenMod will just skip to Android 7.1 (Nougat MR1, API 25) Sooo we would have to wait longer to get a stable Nougat Build..... I will stick with 6.0 tho.

Hello everyone!
As everyone know, there is no MIUI developer for our device. So i decided month ago to start working on MIUI 8 for LG G4 for my personal use.
Im still working on it. I start with Nexus 5X Miui 8 port base and some MiCode patchroom, all implement in stock MM source for G4. Already it boot, but freeze when setup wizard appear (some kernel and framework errors).
I am studying, so i don't have very much time to work at the same time. When i will solve freeze on setup wizard, i will share code and rom for some testers (you can sign to tester list in comments).
First will be released H815, then other versions. That's my third MIUI project, but previous was not realeased.
Of course it will be UNOFFICIAL project.
I have in plans also create MIUI for stock based rom (with glance view, quick window etc), but first need to finish this project).

greetings
Nice to hear that miui is on the way.
I can test to but i need my Phone as daily driver so i can only test at weekend if its very unstable ?
Wait H818?
Doesn't that variant not have a bootloader unlock? or did I miss something
unless I got you wrong, and that you meant that you will work on h818 once there is a bl lock
Anyway, happy to see that this device (not my variant tho ;-; ) will be getting Miui, it will be a refresh for our community!

First thing, you are awesome! Also, if you manage to create a miui for h818 without BL unlock, you should be able to do it with all the H815 variants (L/T/P/AR etc)
Interesting to see how this develops. The last project was unsuccessful so we hope this goes through
I was working on MIUI for H815 but was unable to boot:

Spent a long time on this but wasn't skilled enough, looks live you have gotten much further then me.
Happy to be a tester
Awesome! And after it took so many of us before to try and get it to even boot (MIUI request thread) and you beat all of us to it at once ? Did you use patchrom at all or was all of your tinkering through just editing stuff and adding lines and files?
Nevertheless, thanks for your work. If I have some free time I'll let you know on signing up for testing.
Omg awesome, Will it be offical ROM based? Love the stock camera app

I always thought about comparing to the 5x due to the same chipset
Hmm. I think that would better to start work on stock based, instead of aosp. Better functionality, camera quality. And i think its easier than implememt to aosp. What you think guys?
