Ok, so I have a Nexus 7 first gen but I'm having some issues.
1; It won't startup, I deleted the OS as when I tried to update CyanogenMod it ****ed up somehow and wouldn't get passed the CyanogenMod circle spinny thingy lol.
2; The battery life goes down really quick, and when charging and in use, it goes down still. I have looked for some answers on Google and found out it only happened since updating to the latest version of Android, however, if you downgrade it still doesn't fix it.
I'm looking for someone to help me with these, can anyone?

Hi all,
Recently I purchased the 32GB Nexus 7. It's been all right, however since last week it's beginning to have troubles. When I tap on the screen, the input registers on a random part of the screen.
Before you ask:
the device is on 4.1.2 and is 100% stock, was rooted but I reverted to check if it would help
updating to 4.2 does NOT fix the issue, in fact it makes it worse
I have tried reinstalling the touch drivers from XDA about a thousand times (yes I did do the right build version) to no avail
Rebooting helps, but the issue comes back after about five minutes. I want my Nexus back!
Any help that you have would be appreciated.
A video of the issue in question can be found below. Sorry for the poor video quality...
And, if I get this problem on my new slate, what other tablets could you recommend? That's probably a last resort, though, because I LOVED this tablet until the touch issue.

Hi All,
I'm currently experiencing a problem, that I know has popped up on this forum a couple of times, but not for the Nexus 4 specifically.(As far as I know....)
The problem appears to be random freezes, where the device just stops, screen freezes, no hardware or software buttons respond, and requires the power button to be held down for a few seconds to restart... It happens once or twice a day, at random intervals, mainly when i'm at the home screen or just browsing Chrome (Beta).... My Nexus is running the latest Nightly of CyanogenMod 10.1, build 20130529, although this was happening on the RC1 build too... Also running the latest franco.kernel 3.4.0 and Clockwork Recovery. Haven't partitioned, restored any backups etc as of yet. I also have about 230 apps, so if it could be software related, there's i high chance one of those has got something to do with it!
A suggestion or solution that doesn't involve fiddling around with ROMs, kernels and other stuff would be great, i'm not much good at that sort of thing and don't allocate much time to fiddling about with my phone, but nevertheless if required i could give it a shot....
Thanks,
Hello Droid Geeks & Devs, a sincere advice/help needed .. just fed up off two major issues with my N4. Already tried many of the things available on forums but still the problem persists since 3 months now. So it's time I share my saga and possibly get the suggestions/fix or atleast a workaround.
OK, I'll start from the beginning.. I was and still am fully stock on Kitkat 4.4.4 and bootloader locked. I guess it was September during which i
updated my Google camera app from play store. And since this small update my N4 is ruined, my camera stopped working after a few hours ..only solution was to do a reboot & it would work fine for few hours and again "can't connect to camera". I thought a update might fix it but it didn't ..just forgot i had a camera in my phone for few months.
But guess what since October, the camera not working cycle was as it is, but the added problem was sudden infinite awake times in battery stats showing the cause of drastic battery drains (40% drain in nights to wakeup to drained dead phone in morning).again the temp fix was a reboot. But when i closely looked at the trends, I found the relation that while my camera is working the wake-locks are just fine, but the moment the cam stops working the continuous long Awake starts till it eats up all the battery and eventually lead to a reboot to be back to normal.Screenshots attached.
The upcoming Android 5.0 update in Nov was a major hope for me, that this should fix the bug.I happily sideloaded the lollipop update but still no luck ..in fact i have got added lollipop bug of WiFi drops for no reason. Also trying my luck with the new 5.0.1 lets see how it turns out.
Please help me with this issue. Thanks in advance.
Still no luck with 5.0.1
Please Anyone can suggest something ??

HI Guys,
i Updated my Phone via factory image to Android 5.1 all worked well during the update.
I spotted that with the stock 5.1 my phone got hot when active and the battery went down very fast (and by active i mean just doing normal stuff).
So i decided to go to cm12.1, installation also worked well, but had the same problems here.
Then i went back to stock 5.1 but still the same problems, my phone is getting hot and battery life is getting low when i use it.
When not in use its ok, it baerelly uses battery then.
I searched in forum and google also, but couldnt find anything rly helpfull, i think of going back to 5.0.1
TL: DR
Since Update to 5.1 Phones runes hot and the battery is going low very fast when in use.
Does anyone know this issue and has some advice to solve them?

Hello Guys,
Just like so many others I experienced a loss of speed with my Nexus 7 2012 Wifi Tablet. Most lags occur if I open apps, and since I recently upgraded to Lollipop 5.1.1 (I manually downgraded to 4.2 after experiencing an unusable tablet with 5.0) YouTube videos stopped running smoothly too.
After reading a lot about it, I rooted my Nexus 7 yesterday (successfull according to RootCheck) with the intention to try LagFix free. But I just get the notification "TRIM is not supportet on following partitions /data /cache"
Why? What exactly does that mean and is there a workaround hidden in the settings? Are there any other apps that effectively speed up Nexus 7? I don't feel too comfortable doing the trimming manually, cause I do not know a lot about programming.
Does it help if I install CyanogenMod (10.2 seems best for Nexus 7)? Is this not supported TRIM a problem if I install CM? And will CM be able to speed up my tablet at all? (I bought it sep 2013 and use it frequently) Or are these lags 'natural' for a two years old device and I should just live with them?
Since - as mentioned - I am quite new to this whole programming and flashing, I'd rather not mess with the software if there is a big change that it's not going to make a difference.
Thanks in advance for your time & answers!

A nightly of CM13, installing Trimmer (also called fstrim) and setting it to once daily and removing journaling ought to fix your prob. I had the same prob before too. Go on Gtrcraft's CM13 thread, he has the steps I told you in more detail.
CM10.2 is a good choice for speed and performance, I've been using it for 3 months and there is no lag.
This is my best setup for Nexus 7 : CM10.2, Fstrim (set twice everyday), Greenify
