From the look of it, it doesn't seem like you have tried going back to stock MDL unrooted. Then root your phone again to get the hotspot mod.

I have flashed the mdl on odin back to stock but the ##786# from the dialer is a manufacture reset before the phone gets shipped to the supplier....i did not know this until 1) i did it and did further research let me know that i was screwed on that.
so basicly th 786 this wiped all sprint apps off the device. what i need to know is what would be the best way to get my phone back to the day i bought it....odin mdl is not the answer.
Do a hard reset. That will get you back your phone to factory conditions. And Daniel is correct, you have to Odin to stock.
All your Sprint apps will be back.

I an very new to this. I have a Sprint Galaxy S4 4.4.2. I rooted it with CF AutoRoot. I installed the correct mod for wifi hotspot. After a week, the apps will not work after each individual update. I try uninstalling them. Then reinstalling them. They still will not work. This even applies to Maps. Where do I go from here?
Re root clean flash it with odin. Do a titanium backup first

not 100% sure but it sounds like you need to be searching for information about Market Links or permissions. sounds like the apps are not getting permission from the market to run, like you dont own them, so once they update they loose permissions. hope this puts in the right direction
My AT&T S4's wifi connection has become basically useless. Both at home and at work it frequently drops out and says the connection is unstable. At home, this happens when I'm in the same room as the router. These symptoms started happening after the OTA updates, but seem to have gotten continually worse. I've tried the usual settings changes to no avail.
Is there any reason to believe that putting a custom rom on my S4 will solve the wifi stability issue? If so, I'd happily give it a shot before I completely give up and get a new phone. And, I've had the hardest time trying to figure which guide to use to install a custom rom. I have a US AT&T SGH i337 that is running 4.4.2, and the Baseband version is I337UCUFNC1, Kernal version 3.4.0-1125940. I rooted my s4 using towelroot.
Thanks for the help, hoping I can fix my S4 and keep it...
If it were me I'd flash the nb1 tar file and see if I had the same Wi-Fi issue. You might have a hardware issue. If everything worked then I'd take the ota to nc1. If you have a problem now it's probably the modem image.
Use the rootable nb1 tar file, it's rootable with towelroot.
Flashing the tar in Odin will wipe your device so make sure you backup first.

Please Help Guys, any help would be appreciated. Please if you could reply ASAP it would be great.
Ok so i have a Galaxy S4 At&t and I rooted my phone with safestrap installed. It has a locked bootloader, running android 4.4.2.
I decided to put the Hyperdrive RLS19 on my phone and I have an NC1 phone. I tried putting it in my stock rom, therefore I wiped the data and everything and installed the rom, I completed with the installation, but after I installed the rom i realized that my wifi, 4g Lte data, did not work. Also, i realized that my root disappeared and not only that, I also lost my safestrap recovery. So I thought that the first thing I should do is to root it, just like last time I used Towelroot by geohot and when i clicked make it rain, it said that i needed to ensure my internet connection. Which means that i needed wifi to get root and to get wifi i needed root. I even checked the build.prop file where i should put the line equals to false, but it already was false. I even restarted the phone several times but no luck.
<PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED! IDK IF IM THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM OR NOT PLEASE REPLY>
If you have lost safestrap recovery, it is better to start all over again by flashing stock.
To get WiFi, you will need to flash the modules based on the kernel you have.
To get data, you need to configure the correct APN

I have flashed super nexus on my S4 coming from a fresh ODIN install of NB1 and updated to NJ4. I have flashed correct modules and kernels. Everything else runs amazing on this ROM except I can't turn wifi on at all. It says turning on and never does. Ive also tried to take the wifi folder from system\etc on a working ROM and re add it in to the super nexus system. That didnt work either. Any ideas on what I can try next? I dont wanna go back to stock
