I second this motion. Can anyone provide us with a zip (for KitKat) that contains all touch sounds (lock, unlock, nav touch, keyboard sounds etc) from Jelly Bean?
Any help/pointers would be highly appreciated!

I was able to replace the sounds, thanks! But the effect_click.ogg isn't the original nexus jelly bean sound. I downloaded it from a thread here and replaced it to get the original jelly bean touch sound.

hi,
are you sure they are stock JB unlock sounds?
they look like iphone unlock sound
also my phone started lagging a little on launcher and turning screen of wouldn't work for few seconds that's wired !

Hi! I was able to replace my kitkat sounds with jelly bean sounds using this file. The permissions are -rw-r--r--

I hope this worked for you! I just updated to 4.4.4 and had to go through the entire procedure again. One thing I forgot to mention here was that the folder Ui needs to be given permission 755 and the files inside it should be a 644

I am on Biggins Rom. For some reason his has the apps on the pull down. I personally hate it and wish I could get rid of it.

If you want to remove the Quick Apps, push/overwrite the systemui.apk I attached to system/priv-app/ and set the permissions properly then reboot. It should get rid of the Quick Apps since it's a vanilla systemui.apk.

Hey I'd be happy to test this for you, I just had a question. I've done exactly this (successfully) on my Samsung phone before and in my experience you always had to set the permissions to rw-r--r-- (0644) and here it's slightly different, are you sure you're correct? I'm gonna back everything up so I'm not concerned, it just looked strange to me.
Also the bootup sound is PowerOn.ogg in /system/media/audio/ui you can replace that with whatever .ogg audio file you want provided you remember to set permissions. For example, since I'm a nerd I found a good mp3 file of the 2001 A Space Odyssey theme, cut it down to that cool crescendo part, then converted it to .ogg and renamed the file. Set the permissions and now that's what I hear when my phone and my tablet boot up

Since I own a galaxy tab s.. I just set it to where they would show up. I just left it to the default qmg permissions and it worked fine for me (maybe because Im using a custom rom) . Someone who had a tab pro had to set the permissions to what you wrote. Just what ever works for you should be fine. If the permissions are wrong, it will just show a black screen bootanimation and should still function.

You need to try it man, make a backup first of your keyboard before doing this. It works on touchwiz on s4,s5 but no idea on s3 cm based roms.

It needs root... you can't just click and install the apk. You need to copy the apk to system > priv-app and set permissions to both folder and apk and then reboot

Remember it works only on touchwiz roms.. and for other phones it's 50-50 chance to succeed. Good luck. You should had quoted me in your reply may be you wouldn't had to wait for it this long

I could make them TWRP flashable. I'll try and get around to it.
If you're putting it in /system/media/bootanimation.zip and it still isn't working it might be a permissions problem. 644 is how it is supposed to be set.

I understand now, I long pressed the boot animation folder with total commander and set the properties to 644 applied and it's working now, thanks.
I've been looking for the small world one and I can't find it.

Here's small world. Extracted from a lollipop twrp backup. I liked this one way better than stitch.
I'm actually using it now for a change instead of the April fools yeti.

Hey there buddy, I was reading this thread and it seems to be what I am sort of looking for. I have a XT1572 and have never updated the software as I liked the boot animation (sounds silly)
Anyhow, the phone seems to be having issues now and I really need to update the OS but want to retain the startup animation. I believe it is small world, the one that shows the globe with a plane flying over it etc.
Is this possible and if so how please.
