This doesn't seem to work if you have an unlocked bootloader?
Or at least it doesn't for me on GB 91.2.29001
EDIT: Ok, it seems the timing is different compared to the earlier Jelly bean rom, You have to let go of the power button immediately when the phone vibrates as it's powering on but still hold VOL DOWN

Are there any apps that will reboot from fully powered on straight to fastboot or recovery?
Credit where it's due I have looked and tried a few but none successfully bring up the recovery/fastboot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183614

For those who can't go to fastboot using these methods.
The easier way, I think, is to use adb.
Just plug your phone to a computer with adb installed.
Execute the following commands:
Code:
adb devices
to make sure your phone is detected
Code:
adb reboot recovery
to reboot to recovery
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
to reboot to bootloader
Hope it helps !

Yes friend thanks .... But the main idea is from the phone, in brick cases for example ......... Besides when you no have root.
remember that when we are new, many do not know how to handle command window, or as used adb.exe and fastboot.exe files
Or for use a reboot menu apk's, root permissions are required, so that the three methods mentioned are universal.
And certainly one of them work for you

If you don't have root or anything, you can press Power + Vol - and your phone will reboot. When you see the Green led on, release Power button but continue pressing Vol - and tadah. You're in fastboot.

Sorry, I didn't see anything talking about bricked phones...
Anyway, using adb is not that complicated. If you are an android user, and attempt to root/unlock your phone, then you should already be prepared to know how to use some command line basics. adb is essential after rooting a phone, to push apk, backing up things or whatever.
By the way, root is not needed for these commands to work.
Also remember that using a command line prompt is needed to unlock the bootloader.

Again, this serves to any Android user without any knowledge of command lines ....... at least I think so, we all started this way..... one starts knowing or at least common people ..... you must be an exceptional case .... I'm sorry .... I did thinking of ordinary people, like me

I totally understand your point of view. It is a good idea to give these clear explanations.
Thanks for telling me I'm exceptionnal
By the way, IT is my job for nearly ten years, I'm a developper, so these things are like riding a bicycle for me.
I understand everyone has started like this one day, that's why I'm giving here another approach, maybe nerd like
But I persist, this is not complicated at all. Just type on a keyboard a few words.
On Windows:
1. Press Windows+R
2. Type cmd and enter
3. enter the adb command
Only 3 steps and nothing about the exact timing to match with the volume+power buttons methods.
Linux users should already be confident with a command line. (Sorry for Mac users, never used a Mac ...)

i cant get into fastboot!!!
HI, my razr i XT890 is bricked, i have tried the 3 ways for fastboot and no one have worked for me, i'm sure in doing it right, i am also completly sure it is not a battery issue because i have opened the phone and charged the batery externaly and verified with multimeter it is charged.
When i try to turn on the phone it turns on the green led, vibrates 2 times, shows 'm' logo and then turns off and when it does it shows a couple of green lines under the m logo and thats all,
if i connect to lap it does the same thing, in every of the 3 ways of fastboot i have tried it does the same thing,
i have also found some other post that recomend an unbrick method when only turns the green led holding the camera button while connecting to lap and executing an unbrick file, in that case only it Doesn't do the same thing, in fact it seems like if it could work but after it reboots, it does the same thing,
i have no tried to modify the software before this, i didn't tried to root, nothing, thats why it is so strange to me this happens.
i haven't find in any other blog, forums, someone else with the same problem, PLEASE HELP!!!
My g2 is damaged after installing TWRP and making a flight update..

I cant get the download mode
computer can't see my G2
when i switch it on the LG logo blink and gone and that is it nothing happen after that.
Any one can help me please I'm in a very bad need for it ???
any ideas?
Try a factory reset. The procedure is in the phone manual. Something like phone off then power and vol. Down at same time then some other things after that. Heard it works for those who royally screw the pooch.

Try IOmonster's method here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
It might just work.
EDIT: actually since you can't get into recovery try a different button combo. Some people say pressing all 3 keys at once works, some say just vol down + power.
Are you sure you had enough battery before flashing TWRP?

I don't have a G2, but could you use a Factory cable, which also supplies power and puts the device in Fastboot mode.
As I say, just passing through, so don't know if this is a real option.

I had an issue getting into download mode while bootlooping on an older recovery. U could try leaving phone plugged into computer, repower, then try getting into download mode. Worked for me.

This is a scarry thread!
Any updates?
when I plug the phone to the PC it recognize it as hard drives (more than 10 hard drives with small sizes from 32 meg to 10 meg ) most of them can not be accessed or protected .
than it all I got now
I did the same thing 2 nights ago. I used flashify to flash TWRP but flashed it as boot file causing it to boot loop into recovery. I had to power the phone off through the TWRP interface. Then, with the phone unplugged and off , I held the volume up button for about 3 seconds before inserting the micro usb cable. Keep holding the volume up button until the phone displays download mode. If your laptop still does not recognize your device, make sure you have the correct drivers installed and verify again. Once you are in download mode and your drivers are installed, you can follow the steps in this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 post to get your phone back to stock. Worked for me and I thought my phone was donezo. Also, I installed cleanrom after I finished the above process and am loving it. Hope that helps you out mate!

I flashed Cm 10.2 stable + franco 75 , clean flash , and now I keep getting com.android.phone errors and can't acces anything because that error pops up every second. Also fastboot mode doesnt work , the combination power + vol up + down doesnt work at all, keeps booting into rom. And I cant use adb because I dont have usb debugging on. Please some help.

Hi, Mockingbird...
The correct key combo, for booting directly into the bootloader is...
Press and hold VOLUME DOWN...
...whilst holding VOLUME DOWN, press POWER ON, for 5 seconds (or as long as it takes; I usually find it takes no longer than around 3 seconds).
(If, however, you're stuck in a 'bootloop' situation, press and hold both for a good 30 seconds or so... this should break you out of the 'bootloop', and 'throw' you into the bootloader.)
I'm not quite sure where and when the 'myth' arose, where you have to press all three buttons... but it's incorrect.
Normally, just two buttons are all that are required... VOL DOWN (and hold), and press POWER ON for a few seconds... and it's always worked for me.
When booted into the bootloader, you can....
Boot into your custom recovery (CWM/TWRP)... and from which you can...
...Restore a previously created Nandroid backup (hope you've made one).
...or flash a custom ROM .zip (or reflash the current one you're having problems with).
Or alternatively, from the bootloader... fastboot flash a Google factory stock image.
Hope this helps... and good luck.
Rgrds,
Ged.
Thanks for the reply but I can't boot into bootloader , it goes straight to normal booting.
Edit : I got it working to fastboot mode , seems that my volm down is a lil bit buggy.

Have you tried taking your turned off phone and holding down the power and down volume down buttons until the lg logo appears and then quickly releasing and reholding them. It should trigger a white screen that says factory reset (It won't) if you press the power button a few times.
What happens when you do that?
help me

This is your answer then sir! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
Hi all,
i have sucessfully flashed the german 10E, because i wanted custom recovery and so on for kitkat.
but after the sucess in flashing i get a bootloop, where i see the lg logo and the boot animation but then it reboots and reboots and reboots :crying:
maybe someone has a tip? i tried to factory reset it, but i dont know how to enter stock recovery or hard reset mode
Edit: when i flash back to 20b via kdz method, i have everything as before, nothing erased ,so the kdz method doesnt wipe anything???
After flashing the 10e, you have to do a full erase to avoid the bootloop.

But how do i do it? I mean stock recovery doesnt seem to work, or how do you mean? Whats the kombo i have to press or the tool i have to use?
Gesendet von meinem LG-D802 mit Tapatalk
You have to start with button combination to go to recovery. Power Button and Level Down Hold until LG is in Display. Then short release the two buttons and press again.
When you have stock recovery than you get asked to do "Factory Hard Reset"
Press two times Power button and al is resetted.
Then bootloop is gone normaly.
Thank you, i just didnt press a second time
