Help me bricked - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HELLO
He's only a day old.
I was trying to unlock the bootloader with fastboot but something must have gone wrong. Now will not turn on, is not recognized by the PC.
What can I do?

Hi,
Can you give some more detail on what happened? And by won't turn on is it nothing or just Google logo?
Also see the first few posts here

I wanted to unlock the bootloader.
The error I think is that I used fastboot for Nexus S
Now the phone is always black (off)
If I connect it to my PC, it is not recognized.
If I hold down the power button with the USB cable connected, the battery symbol appears on the screen. The battery symbol turns on and off intermittently. When i release the power button, the symbol does not appear

There isn't a different fastboot binary for different devices, what all did you type into PC? Was it just fastboot oem unlock , or was there more that happened before tablet went dead?

maybe i typed "fastboot usb"(with fastboot Nexus 10) or "fastboot-windows oem unlock"(with fastboot nexus s)

I'm not sure if I'm still following, none of this would cause your tablet to brick, was there anything else that happened?
Try other USB cables and chargers, try charging it over night and try again tomorrow

Now the tablet i connected to the electrical outlet.
Now Is is on. it is booted.
I read battery charging (0%)
It's possible?
Before powering off, the battery charge was at 65%

You may have a bad battery or just a fluke, either way charge it full and try again

My device is updated to 4.4.3
I unlocked the bootloader with toolkit 1.8.3
To reboot my tablet is blocked by a 15-minute loading. It's locked during movements of the colored balls

Why did not it work fastboot?
When I run a command, for example "fastboot oem lock", it remains blocked <waiting for device>?
A guide to format everything and reinstall the stock rom?

This means your PC isn't detecting your tablet, if on windows more than likely a driver issue

Windows 7 detects tablet and installs the drivers, but fastboot does not detect it.
Tried with 2 computers.
Both with windows 7 64bit

Than you don't have the proper drivers installed or you don't have fastboot installed properly or you have a bad USB cable or your not in bootloader on tab.
Most likely issue is windows installed the wrong drivers, download the appropriate ones and manually install and then try again

2)I installed fastboot from SDK Tools
However, I installed 32-bit Java because Java 64-bit did not go on installing the SDK TOOLS
3)The Tablet is in Downloading Mode

when I restart the tablet and remains stationary here
start the installation of these drivers
but the installation failed

UPDATING
I have installed Universal Naked Driver 0.72 while the tablet was in loading infinite (view photo)
Now what do I do?

So when in bootloader mode and you open cmd on PC and type
fastboot devices
Do you see your serial #, if so you are good and can get the tablet all fixed up, if not you'll need to try to get the right drivers

Hi,
I second @demkantor, it's very likely it's a driver issue. First! Don't Panic!! You're only with a bootloop now, it's the less of concerns. A bootloop is quite easy to fix. Did you check the first three posts in Manta Help Thread?

Bricked Nexus 7

I am not familiar with the assembly and disassebly of tablets/phones but i have played around with the disassebly of a car's ecu. When a definition or usb cable is bad when flashing the ecu, bricking the ecu happens instantly but 95% of the time the bricked ecu can be recovered very easily with a power supply.
If i happened to brick the Nexus 7, can it be easily recovered?

Even though I have a bricked unit, it was because I was doing something stupid. 99% of the time, you can't really brick your tablet. Even if you screw it up where it won't boot, you can still connect it to the PC and push a factory reset to it and have it restored.
I've already done this a few times. The first time I freaked out, but once you restore it the first time you find out it's all gravy.
As long as you can get into the bootloader (power+ volume buttons when powered off) , and you have the factory image from here you can reflash it
how can you push it? if it wont get past the screen. I can get into recovery btw
extract the factory image to your folder with fastboot (typically platform-tools) then go into the bootloader and use the commands here

fastboot or adb from the PC is the short answer.
I couldn't even get into the Bootloader. It just stayed off. The screen wouldn't come on. The only thing I could do was get an APX connection on the PC which is completely useless at this point. Nothing worked.
I couldn't even get the screen to come on thus NO FASTBOOT commands. If anyone knows how to restore a N7 without adb or fastboot commands, I'd be thankful.
I returned mine back to Staples. If your screen turns on and gets stuck at the Google Logo or you can get into Recovery, then it isn't bricked and easily fixable.
Try the nexus toolkit. Worked for me!!

I think I may have finally killed mine.
I was flashing back to stock (woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep. What else was there to do?) and in the middle of the toolkit sending "system" my data cable came loose. Fun! So I rebooted and had toolkit push again...waited 20 minutes with no luck.
So I did it all again and left the bastard on while I'm at work. Unless its pregnant...it shouldn't need more than 9 hours to push right?

Try using fastboot commands rather than the toolkit so we know where it's erroring out and can potentially help.

can do
I know its not bricked...just didn't have enough time to get into really trying to fix it. My rule with Android devices is if its not smoking, its not dead yet.
hmmmm...so apparently I'm having some system img issues.
I downloaded the one linked to earlier and I also tried using the one included with Nexus Tools. What am I missing?

Hey man. I think I bricked my Nexus 7 by accidentally erasing the bootloader. I can't turn it on at all (press power, press power and volume). I can connect it via USB and I get a pop-up "USB Device has malfunctioned" so I know something is sparking somewhere.
I am stupid. I know.
Is there anyway to save my N7?

Can you get in to fastboot? If so, you can flash a recovery or system imaged or anything from there. Fastboot should always work (volume up + volume down + power all at the same time)

i am on my main pc right now
i have downloaded the SDK manager and installed the Android SDK platform tools and Google USB driver
nothing happens when i plug the nexus into the PC
do i need to actually manually install these drivers or they are already installed when i ran the SDK manager...
the nexus shows as unknown device right now
Try to install WugFresh's toolkit. http://www.wugfresh.com/
Follow the driver installation guide and make sure thet the previous drivers is removed.
Choose the recomended driver.
If you can start your device in fastboot mode (bootloader) it should be salvageable.
If you use Windows 8, getting a working driver can be quite a struggle.
it was wugfresh toolkit that i was using
so i uninstalled all drivers and installed the drivers from his toolkit
sadly the usb device is still not recognised
well, i searched google and they said there was one way to fix hard brick nexus 7. It is using "JIG usb". If somebody used "JIG usb" please reply me.
I think I'm having the same problem as you, but I am still able to get into bootloader mode. It may take up to around 20 seconds holding the volume down and power button to get back into bootloader mode. In fastboot bootloader, going into recovery freezes (freezes on the "Teamwin" screen), "start" freezes on the "Google" screen with padlock unlocked. Used Wug's to try to go back to factory setting (but to 4.3 instead of 4.2.2), failed to write 'bootloader' and device never boots back up when it says "waiting for device". Then tried using Nexus 7 toolkit (not Wug's) to lock it back up and now I can't unlock again...same thing..."waiting for device" and device never boots back up.
any update for this problem?

LG D800 stuck on LG LOGO

Hello, first sorry for my english, i come here because i don't find help on my mother language forum for this.
After a update fail, my lg is stuck on lg logo, i don't have access to download or recovery mode. Just "fastboot mode started" when i plug the phone and i hold volume up... So i want to follow the tutoriel with the adb and fastboot application on cmd but that don't detect my phone...
If i look on Device Manager, my phone is detect by Windows as "LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port " when the phone is stuck on LG LOGO, and if the phone is in fastboot mode (vol up + plug'in) is detect in other devices as "Android?"
I open a cmd, i go to the folder with "c /adb", after i searched for the devices with "adb devices", but no result in the list...if i try directly "fastboot erase boot" the terminal say me "waiting for the device"
I have install ubuntu, and the same...with " ls /dev/sd*" no result..
i hope somebody can help me !!!! thanks in advance
I finally managed to apply fastboot method, but now I 'm stuck on a black screen and the computer detect qhsusb_bulk
in fact, nobody help nobody here !?..

These files are adapted for my D800 ? Can you help me about the tot file i must take ( can i take the latest version of d800 ou another ) ?
And about the qhsusb_driver that you send me, that is a 64bits ? because i'm 32bits.. i don'k know very well what to do with that, after i selected the driver in device manager, that make a popup and i return in qhsusb mode
You need to install Qualcomm drivers in order to know if you have qhs-usb 9008 but since you do not have multiple disk drives it's safe to assume that you are in 9008 mode.

Snipping Tools is an application in Windows. It lets you make a screenshot of your screen in WINDOWS.
It is just like the screenshot taken on Android, but this Windows app makes a screenshot of your Windows Desktop/apps.
You can also Google the term "Windows Snipping Tool"
And you can also look for a video of a person using it,if you still do not know how to use it.

is the phone connected?
If it is,that isnt bad.
The thing is,while that lg logo stands and the phone is conncted to the PC,its connecting all the partitions(there are more than 10 of the partitions),so let your pc install those drivers and do not disconnect your phone from the pc!
EDIT
Also,if you can,on a pc you never connected your g2 to,install the LG usb drivers and the adb fastboot drivers.
And then connect the g2(but first let the current pc you are using install the drivers.
EDIT#1
I will be away for 2 hours, but I can give you the link to this thread:

I suggest you post your problem there.
The OP is extremely, and definitely more capable than me.

Yes,leave it to install the drivers.
Then you should see something like QHUSB BULK in the "Device Manager",and there should be many drives visible in "My Computer".

adb/fastboot

Hey guys,
Back May when dp3 came out, I went ahead and installed it. Now I'm stuck without a working twerp because I'm encrypted. Problem is I can get dab to work when the phone is on but cant connect to it from bootloader. I'm using the same pc from when I first rooted it...so I know that end is ok. Here's what I've done so far.....I've uninstalled all other drivers and have installed and checked with googles usb driver and clockwork mod universal drivers. I've used usbdeviw to make sure I had no conflicts there. I've tried all usb ports and different cables. I'm using win10, sdk is system wide, everything is up-to-date.

One more way to confirm is by connecting your device to another PC, and check if fastboot works while your device is in bootloader mode, and adb, when your device is booted in the operating system.

While it is booted in the operating system, can you get it connect through MTP?

Yep....still no dice. I feel as if I've exhausted all my known options. Not sure where to go from here.

So while in operating system, and USB debugging enabled, you cannot detect it through the "adb devices" command?

ADB doesn't work in the bootloader, only in recovery and booted in Android. You must use "fastboot" <command>, like "fastboot devices" while in the bootloader.

Mate you are doing it wrong here. ADB only operates when Android is loaded into the operating system or when sideloading. While in the bootloader, you need to operate over fastboot. So the right command command would be:
Code:
fastboot devices
Ya just realized. I'm a dumb ass.
