[Q] going from stock 4.4.3 to FactoryMod4.4.3 - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello,
full picture: i rooted my nexus4 and installed Purity Rom (4.4.2) about a month ago. when the "[ROM] [4.4.3] [KTU84L] Pure Stock - Google Factory Image! + New Radio" was posted ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-pure-stock-google-factory-image-ota-t2566042 ) i wiped and installed (ROM and Radio and SuperSU) and tried it for a few days. it worked fine but then i saw that "[ROM][4.4.3][0506]FactoryMod: V3 ONLINE-White UI, RebootMenu, SystemMods, Adfree+More" was posted and I wanted to try it out ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-nexus-4-factory-rom-deodex-rooted-t2771527 ) so I wiped/factory reset and flashed the ROM and SuperSU but when i check the device info the build still shows at the Stock Rom. In fact i see none of the Mods at all. i tried wiping and flashing again and it still did not stick.
does this have something to do with flashing the stock 4.4.3 rom? is there something else I am not doing?
thanks

Rom that update itself

hi to everyone,
i would like to know if there's a custom rom that can be installed (the first time); after that, when some updates occur, i can update the rome with a small zip and not to reflash all the phone to get the new version? there is such a rom that has this feature?
for example, i have a stock deodexed rotted stock FRG83 (taken from development section) and i would like to know if there's an update i can install only the update instead of reflashing all the rom (even if i don't do a wipe)?
sorry for my english
thanks in advance
one and only ... stock rom
If your are flashing a "small zip" why not just flash the whole ROM? If you are upgrading to a newer version of the ROM you currently use, you only need to wipe cache and dalvik. All your apps and settings should remain intact. In and out, done in less than 10 minutes.
THANKS... so simple

[Q] No baseband when on custom rom, but working on stock

Hey there,
I am an active reader of this forum for 4 years now - thank you for all the information - and have a uncommon problem with my nexus 4,
yesterday i upgraded my purity rom to the actual build and have no cellular connection since then 8excuse me for my english right away)
What seems to be a trivila problem is kinda tricky (of course a looked a lot for possible causes and resolves in the forum).
the problem is: i have flashe the actual bootloader, radio and made a factory image flash and my nexus is working when on stock rom.
but when i flash a custom rom - i tried purity, psx and cm 10.1 - the cellular connectivity and in some cases wifi is gone. once i flash the factory image everything is fine again.
can you imagine a possible explanation?
one more information: when flashing the new purity update, i accidentally flashed not the current one, but the 2 month old version... but i allready made a clean-flash, wiping everything and flashing just the rom.
i'm on the most recent bootloader, radio und cwm-recovery
Any idea? Thanks in advance...
alex
update to latest recovery for either cwm or twrp its a common issue that many have posted issues about
hey,
it worked, reverted to an earlier cwm build and it works again. thank you very much

[Q] Upgrading from 4.3 Custom ROM to 4.4 KitKat

Hi!
It has been a long time since I used my old Nexus 7 which is running a Custom ROM (PurityROM) which is version 4.3 Android. Do I need to do something else to flash a 4.4 KitKat Custom ROM (Dirty Unicorn 4.4.4) or can I flash it without doing anything (new bootloader, etc)? it has been a while for me.
Thanks.

That's an easy one! Just factory reset in recovery a d flash the new ROM and gapps afterwards, then you're on your way.

[Q] Flashed N9006 with AOSP, no baseband now

Hello dear xdaers,
I have an n9006 which I have been using with Omega rom for quite a while. And the phone itself is a genuine n9006, not a clone, I checked the first day.
I just recently decided to get my hands on a new rom and get the kitkat feeling so I have tried some custom roms and they worked fine. Then I decided to try an AOSP rom, W03 Slimkat v23 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638116)
This thing seems really well working for me except for one little! problem and it is the fact that there seems to be no baseband. And the status page shows unknown for practically everything except wifi.
In the light of this I panicked a bit and flashed latest stock rom from sammobile with odin. Everything works fine again (except the exclusion and the effort to make sure google services stay away. I remember struggling a lot to get google playstore and services installed. Then giving up and installing omegarom which kept me going for a while)
After this I backed up EFS and Radio from twrp recovery and flashed the W03 Slimkat v23 again, did the restore from the recovery and bam!
nothing.
Everything seems to be the same. I went back and forth between stock and slim and couldn't fix it.
The thing is I have nowhere the knowledge level of the users in this forum and I just have to learn all the things like odin and recoveries and download modes in one day and apply them. I probably am missing some fundemantal stuff. (heck I don't even know if EFS and Radio has anything to do with baseband) So please feel free to correct me on what I'm doing wrong and thanks in advance!
Update: I just tried to flash slimkat NON aosp version : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2669713
Same thing all over.
Backup EFS
Here bro, this may help you. http://forum.hovatek.com/showthread.php?tid=310#sthash.VtNUlpur.YxNJv18Z.dpbs

Lollipop on I9505 constant reboots

I am having constant reboots with Lollipop roms. While I am setting up or operating the phone everything seems to be working fine but once left alone it will constantly reboot. I have flashed numerous custom and stock roms on my I9505 ( without much or many problems ), until I started installing lollipop. I have flashed Netanalyzer, iB4STiD and 2 versions of Danvdh ( all cm12 roms ) and have tried different recoveries ( Philz 6.07.9 & 6.15.4 as well as TWRP2.7.01 & 2.7.10 ) always with full wipes. I would greatly appreciate help with this problem.
try to use TW 2.6.3.3. Once installed and booted up, allowing the rom the setup itself for a while before you setup. Importantly, follow the install notes of the OPs with true letter n spirit. most likely you are missing something. Your problem looks weird to me.

I tried a few different recoveries but lollipop would only boot up on my I9505 using philz_touch_6.58.7-jflte.zip not sure why or if it makes a differentce but is worth a try.

Thankyou for your help ( will hit the thanks button ), couldn't find TWRP 2.6.3.3 for I9505 so downloaded and installed TWRP 2.6.3.1. Didn't make any difference ( was still rebooting ), but as I don't have wifi ability, I tethered through Bluetooth and let it settle/load what it needed and it is working as it should ( no reboots ).

Very happy with this ROM.
