Custom kernel on stock firmware 4.3 - Galaxy Note II General

Hi there,
Im pretty new to rooting, and just rooted my note 2 N7100 EU version.
I have a Qi charging pad and read allot about Sammy limiting it to 460 mAh.
What i would like to do is keeping the standard samsung firmware 4.3 but with a kernel that only enables the 1000 mAh charging rate over wireless charging. Is this possible?
i read allot of posts with custom roms with pages of changelogs and bug fixes but what i dont want is stuff to stop working after i flash a custom kernel.
Is there a way to enable 1000 mAh wireless charging without skrewing the rest of the firmware?

I mean i can press unroot on the super SU app but im running a custom kernel... wont this brick my Phone?

So i installed the kernel got to the settings. But i see only usb and ac charge levels. Where is the wireless charging option? Or is it the same as the usb charge?

[Q] Need a nudge in the right direction...

I recently moved back to android from the ios scene and need a little assistance. After setting up and using mhl in my vehicle I see that the max charge rate is limited to 500ma while data is being used unless a custom kernel with fast charge is flashed. I'm rooted on an AT&T s4 on 4.2.2 with MF3 baseband. My main focus is to obtain the fast charge capability, so what is the best way to attack this? After 3 hours of researching I'm still at a loss.
Thank you.
Since you have MF3, you cannot flash custom kernels due to the locked bootloader

(Q) what benefits do u see in root nexus 4 5.1?

Just for curiosity, I have a stock nexus and my lasts phones I usually rooted to actualize with new rom, because always them was behind. Our phone is been actualized stock software until now, and I want to know from who rooted their nexus which benefits can u see of root our nexus 4?
P.s: if moderators not see that is a relevant post , can delete, just let know me first.
Thanx

Benefits are the same. After rooting you can install cutom roms. You get better battery life, USB fast charger, App opps, UI customization etc. But you will not get direct updates from Google.
So I just flashed stock image 5.1.1 and my battery life really took a hit. What custom rom has the best battery life these days? I am definitely not a power user, I just want long battery life.

Almost agree except for "After rooting you can install cutom roms". Rooting has nothing to do with custom roms. In order to flash a custom rom you need a custom recovery and an unlocked bootloader
Back to topic, I root my device to get my freedom. There are noumerous apps (wich I use) that require a rooted device. So, for me no root, no joy.
cheers

You can try SimpleAOSP Rom by snakeater. Install Hellscore Kernel or modified Semaphore kernel by Snakeater. Use conservative governer with touch boost to get better battery life.

I think there is issue with the drain, but it's not sammy fault. if you google Android 6.0.1 problem you'll see many nexus users pointing out that their is a battery drain issue, hope sammy can fix it or it won't affect us as much, Android M suppose to kill those issues it seems like Lollipop 5.0 again.
Here are my battery usage. I think thats not good. Lollipop was better.
Sync, Bluetooth, wlan is off. Screen is autobrightness at 100%
Anybdoy a idea?
One day is not enought to say anything about battery life ... maybe after couple of days .
Android os consumes my battery 8%... is this a fee for root my device by samsung??? What the f.... is that?? I cant use my phone without root or custom kernel??? F.... off samsung!!

Thought I'm alone, anyways, the screen on-time is not bad and can go to 6 hours (if used at once), however when the phone is off, the battery drain is huge and doze mode doesn't seem to be working either..
from 2 to 6 am, the phone was on a table and I was asleep and the drains looks to be huge
No problem with drain for me

What your settings? Display brightness? What apps deactivate? Thanks
Stock settings nothing done to the system display brightness on auto but to full brightness nothing deactivated
Guys i think the issue is with root. IF you rooted your phone before, installed customer rom, installed kernel or installed recovery this issue will happen .
Someone on the forum point it to knox fused burn and it can no longer go back to normal.

Rightly said.
If you have tripped Knox while rooting previously, never ever installing a STOCK ROM (May it be lollipop or MM) will fix the battery drain issue since there is some read cycle which the kernel does continuously if the Knox is tripped which can only be overridden with a Custom Kernel.
So, either wait till we get a custom Kernel on MM and root (Ofcourse) or enjoy the new Look n Feel at the cost of battery drain
Btw, I am un-rooted on Stock N9208 (Waiting for MM in my region)

You will never get stock everything deepsleep. So all future updates are null and void for everyone. Unless you get a modified stock kernel to fix the deepsleep. Or a custom kernel. Unrooting doesn't help as Knox ix 0x1

Should I install a custom recovery?

I have done this on other phones before and I know the advantages like custom kernel, recovery and backups. But I haven't had a samsung before and I heard that this can trip knox. if I trip knox, what will happen?
Also does anyone know if rooting/custom recovery/custom kernel/ custom rom stops the finger print sensor or other features?
Thanks
Hey man,
on my g928f (MM) is the custom recovery, audax rom and the SkyHigh kernel installed. It will trip knox.
My fingerprint works fine.
Most of the Advantages you can read at the thread made from the Dev's.
Maybe the SamsungPay app won't work with tripped knox, but i m not sure 'cause it's not released in Europe. :/
Hope i was able to help you a little bit!

What's the battery life like with the recovery & kernel?
Stock MM sucks the life out of my device like Drakula.
So the deepsleep bug is fixed with the kernel. Today I've used my phone a lot (apps like Whatapp, Facebook, Snapchat, Music) and it's still on 29%.
It mostly depends on the brightness of the display and how you use it.
For me it's nearly the same as with lollipop.
But if you won't trip knox.. i think the best thing you can do is to wait till Samsung fixes the bug if they haven't done it already.

Hm sorry i ve never watched about this. But for a normal user it should work for the whole day. Just keep the brightness low.

What is deep sleep and why should i worry about it.

I have seen a lot of posts about deep sleep. I have arough idea of what it is.
I wanted to ask if this ROM http://goo.gl/7TVggH stops deep sleep?
Also does it matter if it doesn't support deep sleep?
Also does it matter if i trip knox by installing a recovery?
I am currently using this rom, with skyhigh kernel v2.6.
And I can confirm that I have no problems.
