[Q] Note 3 SM-N9005 and Audio Technica ATH-S700BT Headphones Problem... - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
Long time lurker/member but new to posting so please go easy! :fingers-crossed:
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (bought and using it in Ireland). I rooted it tonight (using the XDA tutorial video) also installed Triangle Away. No issues with any of this so far.
However today I received some Audio Technica ATH-S700BT Bluetooth headphones from an online store in Japan. Prior to rooting my device this evening, I tried powering on the headphones after charging them for a while, but the Note 3 won't detect the headphones at all during a scan. Tried a few other apps too, again, no search results.
I currently have a Samsung Gear 2 Neo paired to it and I also have an ODB-II device in the pair history that I use occasionally. These work fine.
I read somewhere that Japan uses a different Bluetooth frequency to Europe and RoW. Though would this be the cause of the problem? I believe the headphones are Bluetooth 3.0+EDR, though please find a link below to the spec sheet and a manual (in Japanese) which may help?

audio-technica.co.jp/items/contents/101/model/ATH-S700BT/donwload/ATH-S700BT.pdf - Product Manual (Japanese)
I'm hoping I can use these with my Note 3 via Bluetooth. Can anyone help me out please?
Thanks very much in advance!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Tab no pair with Bluetooth Headphone S10 HD Motoroal

Dear friend
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab Model GT-P1000L and no detectig my Bluetooh headphone S10 HD Motorola, simply no show up on the list of detected device.
Please, help me
Thanks
Please help me. I can't show the headphones, thanks
Weird, mine works just fine
Odd, it works perfectly for me as well. Best bluetooth headset I've ever owned.
Have you followed the instructions that came with it? Where are you going wrong? Some more information could be helpful.
but my Blackberry 8520 good work with the headphones, the problem is for Samsung Galaxy Tab only.
Please any idea?
Thanks
Mirko
To turn on the headphones you have to really mash down on the on button for 10 seconds. Are you sure its on?
I have same problem with galaxy s. Tried all recent modem bins. Never shows up. I speculate it is because they are both ad2p v3 devices and there is a failure with the newer mode. Works fine with s9-hd though.

[Q] Help with Bluetooth

Hi Guys,
i recently upgraded my S4 to a S5
My S4 connected to my car stereo as phone and as multimedia device, but my new s5 just wont connect as multimedia device.
It functions fine as telephone, but i cant get the multimedia option checked.
Is there some hidden option somewhere i'm missing ?.
I didn't have to do anything special for my S4 to connect as multimedia device.

Unfortunately you didn't give us any details of how you tried to pair your stereo to your phone. So we have nothing to work with, no way to point out a missed step or error.
Did you choose the appropriate pairing mode in your stereo menu? If you have continued difficulties, you should tell us what model your stereo is, your S5 firmware version and a detailed description of the steps you tried.

Unless your car stereo is A2DP compliant your phone wont use it for multimedia. Check that out.
This is driving me crazy.
I've spend a couple of hours now in the car trying everything i can think of.
A google search learned that I'm not the only one with this problem.
Clearing the Bluetooth cache didn't help, i installed this app but that didn't work also.
I popped my sim back into my old s4 and it connects perfectly as both phone and multimedia device, allowing me to play music from my phone on the car stereo system.
The car is a Toyota Prius 2012.
I've attached the specs of my new S5.
The S5 only connects as phone and not as multimedia device.
I also experienced BT trouble with S5 in my wife's Prius 2012. My iPhone connects with no problems, phone, multimedia, internet.
I tried to share S5's Internet but after asking/reading here found out that a vital file is missing, /system/bin/pand.
The reason why you don't get MM connection could be similar.

I copied a pand file (and the libbluetoothd.so) from a cyanogenmod image. it didn't help.
doing a logcat |grep bluetooth i noticed the following:
whenever i try to activate a mm connection from the phone to the car i get this line twice in the log file:
V/BluetoothEventManager(12390): Recieved android.bluetooth.a2dp.profile.action.CONNECTION_STATE_CHANGED
Since it's always twice, i think that it activates and immediately deactivates the a2dp connection to the car. looks like a programming error where you cant have 2 active bluetooth connections at the same time.
Hope they fix this really soon.
Not much help to you but I can get my UK S5 to connect fine to my factory car kit. I can connect for hands free, mp3 playback and as a modem for Internet all at once.

I contacted Toyota, there is an update available.
Going to the dealer on Friday, hope it fixes the problem.

You were able to share Internet via Bluetooth?
Yep. You have to enable tethering to get it to work with Command Online through.

Can you explain how in more detail?
Turn on the tethering option (search tethering in settings). Your car will connect to the phone for online access. This is how the 2013 model works.
I have the same problem with my S5 Duos. My Car is a Skoda Yeti. My Android Version is 5.0 Lollipop.
I also spent a couple of hours. Has anyone solved the problem.

[Q] Bluetooth Auto-disconnect Every 15 minutes

I am not sure if this the right place to post this but I have spent so much time on the problem that I thought it was time to see if someone else has an idea.
I use Bluetooth a lot and am actively using the following Bluetooth devices:
Plantronics Legend (phone calls)
Sony SBH20 (music while motorcycling)
Volkswagon GTI (phone calls & music while driving)
Jawbone ERA (optionally when I don't have the Legend around)
Sony Smartwatch 2 (does not connect to phone/audio)
Gear 2 Neo (would like to replace Sony watch, see below)
All of the audio based devices (including the Neo) routinely lose connection approximately every 15 minutes regardless of which device is actively being used. Other people are complaining of similar issues after an upgrade to KitKat (see below for a discussion of my environment). The Sony Smartwatch does not disconnect pretty much ever. What makes the whole thing really weird is that if the Sony Smartwatch is connected than the other devices don't disconnect either. Therefore, if I am using the Sony than everything works well. However, I really like the Neo hardware and would like to switch but if I do everything starts auto-disconnectng.
I am using an I9500 and have tried the following things all with the same symptoms:
Prism Barebone ROM vers. 6.0-8.0 (4.4.2)
PhoeniX ROM 10.1 (4.3)
Wireless on/off (some others have suggested that similar problems may be due to the wireless trying to use the same band as Bluetooth)
Different Baseband versions (currrently XXUBMG9)
I don't think this can be blamed on the connected device, since it happens with so many different devices and since it doesn't happen when the Smartwatch 2 is connected there must be some software explanation.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks for reading this far.
Fred
P.S. I know it is ~15 minutes because I measured it over the course of five disconnections with the stopwatch on the NEO.

Bluetooth Problems?

Is anybody having experiencing Bluetooth issues when streaming music or phone calls to your car radio or portable speakers? This seems to be a major problem with many people on the Sprint variant of this device and I wanted to know if any of the AT&T folks are facing any similar issues..
none here, I use my Samsung level BT speaker and it works fine. im on the 930fd model tho.
I was having the issue when I was with Sprint. I switched to At&t a week later and I haven't had the issue since. I'm not sure if it was Sprint related or device related. I got my wife the Note 7 on AT&T too and there have been no issues.
I reset all my network settings on the Sprint version though and it did seem to help quite a bit.
i use a bluetooth headset and the bluetooth in my car every day with no issues.
my ATT note 7 rooted with spirit firmware lost its paired device log every time its rebooted, forcing me to pair it with my car again every a few days.
No problems connecting and staying connected to a Subaru STi '17 stock system (starlink) and a pioneer aftermarket one.
I've had horrible issues with the note7. Twice. First when I moved from a note4 and then again when I moved from the AT&T-provided S7 interim device back to the non-exploding version of the note7. Whatever Samsung changed bluetooth-wise between the S7 and note7 has made it completely useless in several situations.
A few examples:
Witti Designs' Beddi alarm clock is displayed in the Beddi app but will not completely pair.
Automatic v2 adapter had to about stand on my head to get it paired (multiple resets, unplug / plug adapter, etc)
Plantronics Voyager Legend Call quality is completely worthless.
All three devices worked flawlessly with the Note4 and the interim S7. I could list more craptastic behavior but I think that suffices to prove my point.

Galaxy buds issue

Good morning,
I do not know if it is the most suitable place to make the query, but I have not found another.
Let's see if the forum gurus can give me a cable ... I bought some galaxy buds on eBay, for a very good price, they connect by bluetooth perfectly and they sound great .. I have the problem when connecting them to the "galaxy wearable" app, which does not connect. So I can't see the remaining battery, nor make updates of the buds .. I have made a couple of queries, and they have told me that they are original, but that the problem may be that they are made for another region (Asia in particular), and that is why they do not connect. I have tried several versions of the app, both with my s9 +, and with the s7 of my wife, with the same result .. Do you know any possible solution?
Thanks in advance, Anfra
