yes you can use it but you cant replace the stock task manager with it
You can however in cyanogenmod roms choose what app to launch when you hold the home button therefore you can select any app including a 3rd party task manager to launch on long button home press
Also questions go in the question and answer section
The dev section is for posting dev related work - eg roms and source codes
Therefore I will get this thread moved
edit - thread moved

already answered this question - read my above post
you can also mod your stock task manager with this guide - will only work on stock roms with touchwiz - ie samsung stock roms

The only way to "smooth" a Samsung ROM is to jump up and down on it!

Hey frnds, i want to know that
As we use our stock samsung home launcher, and then go to task manager, we can see tht launcher running in task manager..
Bt when we install other launchers, then it shows in running apps in task manager...
I think there is a way to make other launchers like samsung home by editing some lines in build.prop...
If its possible then inform me( tell the lines to edit in build.prop)...
Plz want a expert person of all these stuffs to answer..

You can push it to system or uninstall a system app
But it will still show up in running apps
That's how stock launcher was made
It's ignored by task manager

I hate the new system where you have to long press for options and short press gives you task manager (Which I never use).
Is there a way to revert it?
Gravity box will help you
What is gravity box Please?
here is the Gravity Box Thread on XDA : http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/xposed-modules/app-gravitybox-v2-9-1-tweak-box-android-t2316070
I may consider using it...

Yes, root only, and you'll need the xposed framework. .. well worth doing, and the first thing I installed when I got my phone yesterday! I now have menu options on the left key how it should be!

Ever since updating my Nexus 5 to Android 5.0, I've found that you can't manage startup. I tried Clean Master, Autostarts, and Autorun Manager, but none of them works.
Please assist me in finding a solution. Thanks.
Anybody? Well, can the "Autorun" in the thread title be changed to "Startup" at least?

you can use app ops, the lastest version can do that
Do you mean the one by Lars Team? I just tried that, but disabling an autostart doesn't stick, it's enabled again when I recheck.

you can use this app to remove the permissions and it does not require root too..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.heagoo.apkpermremover&hl=es_419
Does that manage startup entries? Doesn't look like it, and App Ops seem to manage permissions fine.
Greenify?

You can remove the unnecessary permissions like boot with the phone...
Greenify is an option, but I'd rather not depend on another running process... Oh well, have to make do with it for now.
Just tried APK Permission Remover. It requires you to uninstall, then reinstall the app. Too much trouble keeping up-to-date.
Simply deactivate the app.

Just flash Pie Patch
you should just flash the pie patch via recovery, it solves a lot of the problems root apps have in lollipop, including the startup one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/development/fix-bypassing-pie-security-check-t2797731
Sounds risky and unclear, maybe someone else can try?

What do you know, they just started working again for me... Didn't patch anything, just updated normally.
Autostarts has been updated to support lollipop.
Kingroot, but its also do more than I need.
I am using this theme for few days it changes most of your user interface as close as stock android. You are going to love it if you are a stock android lover. But it shows five minutes trail every now and then. If anyone can fix this will be thankful.

Search lawnchair in playstore, maybe hard to find themes close to stock Android, install launcher is easy solution
