Guys,
Is there way to flash the latest ND3 Modem only on my 4.4.2 SM-N9005?
I'm currently on 4.4.2 NC2.
Thanks!

If nc2 works fine for you just keep it. I came from...I think na1(never updated modem and haven't had any issues) to ne3 which didn't work for me and settled on nc2 myself. If you like to flash(it's your phone and therefore your risk) try omega pro or anywhere else you find the modem and flash in Odin. I assume you're rooted. Little hint: keep other modems(especially nc2) on your PC cause I didn't and it was a drag to get them with a none working phone.

when we were upgrading to the new firmware and the modem- baseband wasn't sticking, we used triangle away v3.26 from chainfire, then we odin the modem or the full firmware and it stuck.. hope that helps..

You could just grab the MODEM.BIN and NON-HLOS.BIN from the firmware, and flash it at CP or PHONE with ODIN (modem.bin first, then follow by non-hlos.bin).
if 1st try fail, do 2nd time.
Make sure you power off first before you use the 3 combo to get into download mode.

Agree you can just keep your existing modem if it works fine for you.
modem, normally I update only from firmware of my own region.
BTW, to upgrade modem no need to have a rooted device. It only need modem.bin + non-hlos.bin + PC ODIN.
If you have root permission you can flash with the dd command
Thanks a lot for the support guys, I've done it through odin. Didn't solve my original problem, But WIFI connectivity was improved!
Gps issue, please help...
Hi all.
First of all, sorry for my English.
I need a big help. I have a sm-n9005 Galaxy Note 3. After flashing a rom I lost GPS signal. I do not have at all.
I tried different roms, but still nothing. Any idea? Did I killed my GPS receiver somehow during flashing rom???
Many thanks...

Don't know if any body has noticed, but kit kat seems to have been sneakily released for us australia note 3 holders of the n9007 model.
I don't know if its available officially yet, as I can't check because I rooted the 4.3 firmware, however I am currently downloading the 4.4.2 firmware from sammobile.
Now this leads to my actual question,
Seeing as we now have the 4.4.2 firmware and modem, would we be able to flash n9005 roms onto our n9007 note 3's and simply swap the modem?
I read somewhere that someone had success flashing, with everything working except the modem.
If any other n9007 would like to hit up the new firmware and share feedback that'd be great

I've done this on many N9005 custom roms without any issues (NO MODEM ISSUE to speak of). All you need to do is update to 4.4.2 for the N9007 so that you have the kitkat bootloader and modem then you can flash any of the N9005 custom roms as you please. I've flashed these roms in the past without any issue (ASSASSINROM V4, CRASH ROM V13, N9005XXUGNG1_DevBase_alexndr.zip AND CRASH ROM V15 CURRENT)
So you can use 9005 ROMs even if you have a 9007 as long as it's 4.4.2?
In short yes. The baseband of your 9007 must match the 9005 custom rom you want to use ie. to use 9005 custom rom on 4.4.2 you need to upgrade your 9007 to 4.4.2 first.
Sorry but would you be able to provide us with a short tutorial on how to do so?
As far as I can tell, there is no way to root N9007 4.4.2 at the moment.
I realise some roms can be flashed with odin, but I'm still kind of wary as to whether or not it will be compatible.
You mentioned having the same basebands, but on my N9007 the baseband version shows as "N9007DIUCND1"
Is the DIUCND1 part the part I need to look out for while searching for N9005 custom roms?
Thanks for the help

OK...from the information you've provided...you're on 4.4.2 for the N9007 if not update your firmware to this version. To root simply use TOWELROOT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2793071) then install recovery app...either CWM or TWRP - I've been using TWRP 2.7.2.0 without a single issue. Then chose and install an N9005 custom rom via TWRP or CWM. I've installed and used the following roms without any issue (Echoe ROM v15, Alexndr - N9005XXUGNG1, ASSASSIN_V4, CRASH_ROM_V13 and CRASH_ROM_V15)...the only thing you cannot do is install bootloader and modem belonging to N9005.
Fantastic. I have yet to install a custom rom, but I am ecstatic just knowing that my phone is finally rooted again.
Hated that I couldn't downgrade from kitkat back to jb, but only because I wasn't aware of any way to root my device until now, many thanks!
I shall post again once I try out a few roms and see how they go.
Thanks again, you've been most helpful!
Sorry, would you be able to link me to the correct TWRP for the N9007? or the one that is compatible with it?

I also would like to try custom firmware, is it possible to install onto this phone?
I got one more question do i need to unlock bootloader?
How can I check my bootloader status?
Thanks for your answers.

I too have this issue and as explained clearly you cannot use the N9005's BL or CL on a N9007 device - it causes a bootloop or stuck on logo.
I cannot find the BL or CL for Australia (optus) anywhere, not even an older version.
Flash latest stock firmware for BL etc.
hey geeks of xda,
I own a note 3 sm-n9005 unlocked and was running nf4 firmware recently i update it to ng1 by ota and everything was fine i rooted and installed custom recovery..later on i installed a custom rom (mokee open source ) since the build wasn't stable i tried to revert back to stock by flashing nf4 (as i had only that firmware downloaded ready ,there comes my nightmare my baseband version unknown and imei null....
question is does ng1 have some updated bootloader ? and is it possible to solve the baseband and imei issue by downloading and flashing ng1 again instead of nf4? just wanna confirm before i downloading ng1 as data costs is a bit expensive ...
brief question : does ng1 has updated boot loader compared to nf4? thanks a lot in advance for the response

no need to dl again whole rom but mlodem NG1 and flash with odin. The Bootloader is not important and doesn't change anything.

Hey guys!
I've read everything I could but everything I have found is still a little vague for me since I need a more specific answer.
I have a I337M running CyanogenMod 11 M9 with "I337MUMUAMG1" baseband on Telcel (Mexico). Can I jump from "MG1" to "I337MUMUFNE2", which is the lastest for Telcel (May 16) without having major problems? I dont really want to mess up anything but CM M10 to M12 (and M13 will without a doubt) requieres me to update my baseband since is not connecting to mobile data.
I read that I need to load the latest stock ROM and then re-root, re-custom recovery and then re-flash CM 11 XX. Im also worried about the Knox thing and new bootloaders messing with the sound and WiFi.
Is there a guide I have totally missed to do this?
I found this thread were djdedonrg posted just the modem Im looking for (NE2), Can I just flash it with Odin and be good?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/modem-4-4-2-i337mumufne3-t2815999
Thanks in advance!
Anyone?
You can try flashing a newer modem, thought i don't think there should be a problem as long as you flash stock firmwares. you can freely Odin things with i337M
Yeah you can Flash only the modem via ODIN, I actually have the I337MUMUFNE2 Modem on my SGH-I337m from Telcel Mexico with a custom ROM
You dont need to flash the entire Stock ROM.

I was able to downgrade from 5.1.1 to 4.4.4 on a SM-N910T. Kinda...
the phone had 5.1.1 N910TUVU2DOK2 and i downgraded to 4.4.4 N910T2TMB2AOG1.
N910T2TMB2AOG1 is 4.4.4 for a SM-N910T2 and I would like to get to 4.4.4 N910TUVU1ANIH for a SM-N910T.
Since I was able to downgrade to 4.4.4 I hope someone can figure out how to get over to 4.4.4 N910TUVU1ANIH.
Has anyone had any success in downgrading the SM-N910T to 4.4.4?
As far as EVERYONE with a N910T knows there is NO possible way at all to downgrade from DOK2. If you have achieved this bud you are the only single person that anyone knows who has...PLEASE sir provide screenshots and a full list of the steps you took... if you successfully managed to downgrade to T2 firmware we might can find a way to help you get over to a different firmware.
---------- Post added at 01:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:14 AM ----------
But what do you mean kinda???? If all your partitions are on 4.4.4 buddy you are fully downgraded....how did you come to flashing T2 firmware...what's the story?
---------- Post added at 01:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:16 AM ----------
I'm only so excited because I have been looking since I bought my phone for a method like your describing...you will be famous my friend if you have found this and can prove to others it's true....I don't mean that disrespectful....it's just thought to be impossible by even devs
---------- Post added at 01:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:18 AM ----------
BTW bro you should prolly post this on N910T forums also....probably get way more attention there
I successfully downgraded 3 SM-N910T phones today, but it will be Tuesday before I can post screenshots, get more details and do more experiments etc.
For now this is what I did.
1. I used Odin 3.11.1 to flash the OG1 rom
2. I used a N910T2TMB2AOG1 rom I captured from Kies a while back that has the BL,AP,CP and CSC files in it
3. I selected "nand erase all" and "phone bootloader update" in options
4. After a sucessful flash, I did a hard reset in recovery
5. I used the app "Phone INFO ★Samsung★" to verify the phone is on the 4.4.4 OG1 bootloader
Tuesday I will try downloading the OG1 rom from sammobile for the SM-N910T2 and flashing it without all the extra setting to see if I get the same results.
Then I will post on the 910T forums to see if I actually have a breakthrough and if someone can use this info to get to 4.4.4 ANIH.
I have been able to get from 5.0.1 to 4.4.4 ANIH with no problems but like everyone else 5.1.1 to 4.4.4 seems to be impossible.
So to start with you were on DOK2 right? And now your phone is on T2 4.4.4 firmware? I have a N910T on DOK2. Well 6.0.1 now but I can downgrade back and I can download the FW and try it...if you can send me a link to the FW that you downgraded to and a link to the firmware that you want to be on I will see if I can get some of my way more tech savvy friends to help me check out the files to see if we can figure out how to get you to where u wanna be...where you get your phone and how old is it...and when you can send screenshots take one of the back under the battery and of your stock recovery if your on stock...
Sorry it has taken so long to respond but here are the steps I took to get down to 4.4.4.
(Warning!!!! I am not responsible if you damage your phone following these instructions.)
>>>>Proceed at Your Own Risk<<<<
The SM-N910T was on Android Version 5.1.1 build number N910TUVU2DOK2.
I used the 4.4.4 firmware N910T2UVU2AOG1 for the SM-N910T2 downloaded from SamMobile.com.
I flashed the N910T2UVU2AOG1 firmware through Odin 3.11.
The Note 4 will boot loop after the downgrade so you will have to boot into recovery after the downgrade, then wipe cache and wipe data/factory reset.
Remember that this will only get you to 4.4.4 for the SM-N910T2. I would like to get to 4.4.4 for the SM-N910T if someone smarter than me knows how to do it.
Have you tried flashing the ANK firmware?

Sammobile also shows 4.4.4 firmwares ANIH and ANJ7 for the N910T. Did those also fail downgrade attempts from 6.0.1?
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
Yes they failed.
That's why I tried the 4.4.4 firmware for the SM-N910T2. It was the only firmware that would downgrade.
I have tried to downgrade to ANJ7, ANK4, and ANIH with no success. AOG1 is the only one I have been able to downgrade successfully.
A side note, I can upgrade back to DOK2 and then downgrade back to AOG1 with no problem.
So it seems that the Note 4 bootloader is not exactly locked because it can be downgraded to 4.4.4 on at least one version of the firmware. What this leads me to believe is that these must be a database or whitelist in the bootloader code that allows for downgrade to 4.4.4 if the version is on the approved list. Or maybe it's a blacklist with ANJ7, ANK4 and ANIH on it that causes Odin to fail. I have not tried to decompile the bootloader to verify, so I am just speculating at this point.

I want to use a rom that is based on the ANIH build.
Do you know how to edit firmware tars
---------- Post added at 09:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:08 PM ----------
That's why I asked why you wanted to be on ANIH...you can possibly extract the tar and remove the BL...then you are left with a ANIH phone that has a different BL of the same build...but have you tried the rom you want on the T2 FW...? It might run perfect....it's like installing a N910F rom on N910T...all you really need is the BL and Modem that is compatible with our phone... T and T2 are the same as far as hardware from what I can find....

After downgrading to the 910T2 4.4.4 stock, were you able to install recovery and any of the 910T 4.4.4 custom ROMs? ie FireKat? Were you still unable to Odin any of the T-Mobile 4.4.4 from your Rent-A-Center T2 4.4.4?

did you try ODIN re partition with PIT File for 910T , along with ANIH stock rom 4.4.4 ?
I've done the said method of downgrading to 444 N910T2 OG1 firmware from 601.
This is the closest you can get to NIH and all the other original 444 firmwares for N910T. You won't be able to flash stock n910t 444 rom from this one, though.
The positive side of it is that this OG1 firmware for N910T2 is fully functional with no TMO bloats. So it's almost like a dream 444 stock firmware.
Again: fully functional 444 daily driver with good battery life and no tmo bloats. You can flash Root, it works as well. If you love 444 just flash this over your 511 or 601, erase data and cache. Start fresh. Then, enjoy the benefits.
Loving my Note 4 even more now.
You can't Odin to NK3 from MM PE3, so in order to do this you've gotta Odin downgrade to LP COK2 and THEN flash recovery flash the selected KK rom of choice and then whatever KK kernel ya can find that ya like, I've found that LLFK is still active and alive. You might also wanna Odin flash the KK modem too for better GPS location.
Samsung made it or tried to make it irreversible ever since COK2, it's impossible to Odin back down to NK3 KK, so you have to flash a rom, kernel and modem for matching baseband.

Trust me I played around for a day and a half until I discovered it was possible to boot a KK rom off of COK2 and messing with Odin too, just a warning if ya don't flash a kernel you won't have working WiFi at all. Can't even Odin to LP 5.0.1.
I tried 3 times, regular flashing once, no kernel or modem, WiFi toggles would stick and just freeze as if they hadn't been touched and switched on, another time with the kitkat modem Odin flashed after installing the KK rom, again no response to the WiFi toggles no sign of WiFi connectivity, GPS location was better than no old KK modem and faster at picking up a location and then I flashed a kernel and suddenly everything was working as it should.

Trust me I played around for a day and a half until I discovered it was possible to boot a KK rom off of COK2 and messing with Odin too, just a warning if ya don't flash a kernel you won't have working WiFi at all. Can't even Odin to LP 5.0.1.
I tried 3 times, regular flashing once, no kernel or modem, WiFi toggles would stick and just freeze as they hadn't been touched and switched on, another time with the kitkat modem Odin flashed after installing the KK rom, again no response to the WiFi toggles no sign of WiFi connectivity, GPS location was better than no old KK modem and faster at picking up a location and then I flashed a kernel and suddenly everything was working as it should.

So does it allow you to go back to 5.1.1 from 6.0.1 by just flashing 5.1.1 In Odin with everything working?
Yes you can, no I couldn't go any further back than COK2 5.1.1 Odin firmware everything working fresh like new out the box, any earlier Odin firmware attempts ended in the fail error everyone is posting about, tried with BOD7 5.0.1 Odin firmware and got the same error as KK firmware.
TL;DR Simplicity - COK2 LP 5.1.1 is the earliest you can back to in Odin, I think COK2 locked the previous version firmwares bootloader, trying to make downgrading to Original KK firmware irreversible.

Cool, I just want to go to 5.1.1 maybe to check out some of those roms. I'm using tekhd 6.0.1 deodex and saw some interesting 5.1.1 roms I might want to try as I just received a note edge after trading in my note 4 for a broken camera that didn't focus so I'm ready to start roming this bad boy. But a simple Odin back to 5.1.1 and I'm good to go sounds great. I was hesitant to update to 6.0.1 as I thought I wouldnt be able to go back but did the update anyway. Thanks for the response. I'll try in a few days after playing around with 6.0 for a few days.
In theory you could probably go down to LP 5.1.1 just by flashing a LP rom and a LP kernel, I don't see why the same method wouldn't work for that. So before ya Odin get a good LP kernel and LP rom and try that out, I seen someone say to do that to LP for KK and that's what made me try and find out.

True, but I'll want to have a clean install for any rom I use on 5.1.1 just in case. Thanks again, team work makes the dream work.....of being a flashaholic. Lol
Do you have to be rooted for this to work? Honestly I just want to root my phone, but it seems like you can't root MM if you're on T-mo. I figured downgrading was my only option.
This thread should be a sticky
I can't seem to find any Kitkat kernels and LLFK dropbox links won't load for me. Anyone know where to get kitkat kernels?
EDIT: Seems it was a problem with my computer. Got it to load on my phone. But the Mediafire link also seems broken with a captcha that won't load properly. I'll see how it goes without it.
@MikeChannon Should this be stickied? @Zuffle I'll see if I can find a mirror or if db works me then make one myself.

Well a couple of things. Tutorials normally go in the device General forum so they don't get lost in a sea of question threads, but the decision about whether it should be a sticky or not I normally leave to the Forum Moderators who are a bit more in touch with what's happening in the forum and know better what should be stickied.

lazy see,lazy do... .....:silly:
Theoretically this could be done for any version of the note edge, just remember to rollback and odin flash the matching version of 5.1.1 for your edge and then get the modem for it if possible and the kitkat rom of your choice, as well as root and twrp. But I believe and don't see why this side-step method wouldn't work for other versions of the edge and I imagine they (Sammy) locked the bootloader on all versions of 5.1.1, which is what people are getting hung up on in odin trying to flash 5.0.1 and 4.4.4
It's just the US models that Samsung locked the bootloader. I don't know about the Korean models but the other international models you can downgrade to any firmware of your choice.
