Is anyone on the special 4.4.2 nc2 having a problem with rotation where it works on reboot then doesn't after five to ten min. My auto brightness is also flaky I've updated to the Bajarom12 and 13 and the issues persist. Also have had a com.sec.android.keyguard failure with the lock screen but noticed nothing different. I've looked through the threads and haven't found anything any help or links would be appreciated
Thank you
I personally use rotation locker and manually rotate my screen. I can't help you with the auto brightness, but as a rule of thumb when having problems with roms it's always best to wipe dalvik cache and regular cache in recovery. If that does not work you need to make a nandriod backup to a microsd card and then wipe your data also in recovery and start fresh and see if you still have the problem (most likely you will not).

thank you for the quick reply :] I have done a dalvik cache, cache, system, data, every time and have installed deodex 4.4.2, new hyperdrive, and baja 14. I also flashed the n900vkk firmware md5 file in AP in Odin after doing the fresh installs to see if that would change anything and sometimes it will rotate the first few minutes after restart then sometimes just not at all. Thank you for the rotation locker recom. I downloaded it and am using it right now :good:

i have read many times about rotation issue being linked to freezing/removing some of what is considered bloat. there is an ongoing thread right here about it. hope that helps.

I think you need to do full reflash...
I mean HERE.
Go to recovery menu, wipe data and cache + dalvik cache. Pull out battery, put it back, turn your phone to DOWNLOAD mode.
use PIT from that link, use Odin (for me worked very well 3.09 version) and... I don't know, try. This method should work
Ohh, and also, How I upgraded:
0. Am on 9505 model
1. I used pit file (re-partition)
2. used
Germany DBT (October 2013) (firmware with Enforcing SELinux. SECURED BOOTLOADER WILL BE FLASHED, NO DOWNGRADE)
PDA: I9505XXUEMJ5
CSC: I9505OXAEMJ5
MODEM: I9505XXUEMJ5
Version 4.3
3. Did what I said - wipe data, cache, dalvik cache... same method.
For me works, but I only see few text lines at every boot (but they don't change anything, I just ignore them. I added photo so you can preview
You wiped dalvik and cache, so that means you didn't do a system/data wipe? Try that first.

I wiped user data
I wiped cache
I wiped dalvik cache (under advanced)
and that's what i've done in recovery menu
P.s. I didn't give you instructions (even it looks like LIST) but it's not... Or do you need step-by-step instructions? Huh.. am too lazy but if you really need I can write, just tell me what

Hey, DId you resolve this issue? I'm facing this on my Moto G.
Hello,
I'm trying to fix a problem for a few days now, but without any luck.
I flashed CM11 using CWM 6.0.4.7, which is the latest.
But for some reason there is a problem with the date & time. My whatsapp keeps telling me my date was wrong, while it was actually set right. Didn't matter if i changed it and changed it back, or put it on automatic. It keeps resetting at boot but for some reason it shows the right date.
So i tried flashing another rom and i have the same problem.
But then i found out i did a full wipe and to be sure i formatted System and Data (also cache and dalvik), but when i did a clean install after the wiping, i still could restore a whatsapp backup and i see all my photos which are located on my internal storage. (/storage/emulated/o).
I think the wiping isn't done right or something.
Does anybody know what i should do?
I just want to wipe everything possible, except for CWM and then do a clean install.
I've been scouring the web for an answer to this but can't find anything that helps.
Every time I reboot my device it says, "Android is upgrading" and "optimizes" 2 apps. I wouldn't mind this that much if it didn't delete my saved wifi passwords every time and behave really slowly for a few minutes after boot.
Things I have tried:
-Clearing Dalvik Cache from recovery boot (no effect)
- Switching to ART (when device reboots it's still in Dalvik)
-Deleting .odex files from data/app (there were none)
-Uninstalling Titanium Backup (no effect)
I am rooted, but have not tripped knox. I have frozen knox and context service with titanium backup as whenever I would boot I would get an error message from these that would not go away. I am running the stock rom from SamMobile (installed using Odin).
I would greatly appreciate help, as I am struggling with this and I'm sure others are too.
Thanks!

Hey!
I think the only thing you can try is a full factory reset. Backup your data and try wiping it. It might help you. Can you tell me which firmware are you using??
Hi, thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention I have factory reset as well. Where can I find my firmware?
You will find it in the about phone page in your settings... U can post the screenshot here I'll help u out
Hi all,
I think I might have a problem, after I flashed xposed framework on my nexus 6p and got the modules that I wanted up and running no problem, during 4 or 5 days all worked fine but had constant reboots,
I decided to go back before I flashed xposed with twrp and restored a full backup, it failed to restore all selected at the same time, so did one a time and restored but phone would just not boot, so
Having data partition restored and then dirty flash stock without wipe data I was able to get my phone back and running, and re-root fine and flashed twrp no problems
Went to twrp to wipe cashe and dalvik but it just takes like 2 seconds optimizing apps and boots to desktop right up, now my question is
Shouldn't it take a very long time to optimize all my apps after the wipe????
all seems to be working fine but kind of bothers me that I might have something in not working right that might develop into something worst in the future
It is at this point I usually full-wipe and reflash. =) Setting things up again can suck, but it's better than wondering what unknown thing is broken and will rear it's ugly head later.

full wipe and reflash, want to avoid that, any other commands perhaps?
OK so I did a full re flash, back to stock, re root, installed my apps, used for a while, log in on all, went to twrp to test wipe cache and dalvik, same thing, optimizing apps at first boot took like one second and boot to desktop, is this normal or should take longer to optimize all apps?? Anyone??
is my understanding that only apps that havent already been optimized will upon boot... (new installs from like a zip)

thats what i am thinking too now that you mention it, like when I installed xposed initially and did whipe cache/dalvik thing after it took long time to boot because was on something like optimizing app 3 out 78, same thing I have seen on my old nexus 5 when dirty flash a new firmware, but not sure if I have something broken or is normal

Sounds to me like you didn't wipe properly when flashing the ROM. You need to wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache before flashing, is that what you did?
Usually when you update the same rom it's better to dirty flash no? i cant wipe all my data everytime i want to update the rom, though i might go back to stock, i
what's the best way to backup apps within the phone, and should i go deodex or Oden

My mistake, I didn't realise you were just updating the same ROM. Yes, usually you can just dirty flash, but the way something is implemented may have changed in the latest update, causing the issues you're having now. The solution is pretty simple though: backup your user apps with Titanium Backup, boot into TWRP and perform a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik cache), flash ROM + gapps, boot into ROM and set up your settings, restore your user apps with Titanium Backup.
Thanks a lot!
I had this same issue after the March security updates. Was given this and it fixed my issues completely! It manually runs the setup wizard. Not sure if it will fix it or not, but worth a shot.
